1971 Chevy Super Cheyenne SWB LSX

This is a very clean truck fresh out of frame off restoration with full receipt book and build pics. My goal was to build a very clean daily driver with the technology of today. The frame and sand blasted and painted GM chassis black and all of the suspension components were powder coated red.  It has all the bells and whistles that you could want to include remote start, power one piece windows, shoulder harness seat belts, and push button ignition. It runs and drives great and below is a detailed description.

Engine = 5.3LS w/LS1 intake. Engine came out of a 2000 C1500 and had low miles and was very clean. The following parts were replaced; LS1 intake, LS1 water pump, 2010 Camaro exhaust manifolds, accessory drive kit, gasket rebuild kit, K&N Filter, High pressure fuel pump,  and custom stand alone wire harness. The engine was professionally tuned and with a conservative tune in make approx 350HP and still get over 20MPG.

Cooling = Aluminum 4 core radiator with 2 16" cooling fans (I hate a truck that overheats and I made sure that this one would not)

Gas tank = The gas tank was relocated to the rear frame. Its MUCH safer and a lot cooler too! I used a 71 blazer tank and the filler neck hole was welded up

Radio = None yet because the original dash was there uncut and I couldn't bring myself to cut it, the doors are also uncut. With the gas tank gone from behind the seat there is a lot of room for a serious stereo system if that's what you want

Trans = 4L60E. Shortened shift point and all new solenoids, fluid and filter.

Exhaust = 2010 Camaro manifolds with 2 1/2 inch true dual  exhaust with flowmaster 40s

Electronics = Remote start, Push button ignition, Alarm, new wire harness with new style fuses, Dakota Digital dash, power one piece window, Custom made engine harness wrapped in aircraft wire loom

Brakes = 4 wheel disc power brake kit with gas slotted cross drilled rotors. This truck stops on a dime!!!!!!!!!

Glass = all new glass with one piece side windows

Chrome and Trim = every piece is brand new

Frame = Sand blasted and painted GM Chassis black. Suspension powder coated red with all new moving parts (ball joints, tie rods, ect...) there is a 2/5 drop kit installed and the wheels do tuck in case you want to go with an air ride kit

Lining = The bed and cab floor were lined with liner xtreeme and in black and the under side of the cab and bed were lined in orange. This will prevent rock chips that could lead to rust.

Paint = PPG O-So-Orange and pearl white

Wheels = Boss 338 20x8.5 with 275/40/20 tires

a/c = the truck a/c was working perfect before the resto and the donor trucks a/c was also. since it is winter I have not yet connected the a/c. if this is a deal breaker then that's not a problem, just add $500 to the end price of the auction and add 2 days to the pickup or delivery time and it will be fully functioning.

Body = short wide bed with Super Cheyenne package. It had very little rust but it did have some in the normal places. The following parts were replaced; inner fenders, radiator support, cab corners, rockers, and inner rockers. The truck has all new carpet and door seals. The doors shut solid but it takes a little bit more of a push since the seals are brand new.

I'm sure that I am forgetting something so feel free to ask. I would not have an issue with driving this truck cross country today. All of the moving parts were replaced and even though there is no warrantee I feel this truck is SUPER DEPENDABLE. This truck would be great for daily driving or local shows. I would give it a 8.5 or 9 out of 10. Its not a 10 cause the paint isn't perfect but my goal was to build a driver and not a trailer queen. I will not tell my reserve price but it is MORE THAN fair. This truck is for sale local so bid to win cause I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If you have an offer then fire away. For the record I have a sweet spot for vettes so I'm open to tr@des also.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.
