'71 C10 Chevy Super Cheyenne Pickup Truck Patina Shop Rat Street Hot Rod 3100 on 2040-cars
Manchester, Kentucky, United States
You are bidding on a 1971 Chevy Cheyenne
Super C10 . This truck was purchased with the intention
of doing a full frame off restore, but after going through and inspecting/replacing
all the mechanical issues of the truck (and with several projects already in the garage), it became a driver. This truck is an original unmolested truck (aside from the engine)
that is NOT a Frankenstein creation
and has all the original sheet metal that came with the truck whenever it
rolled off the assembly line. This
truck was purchased from the family that had owned it for a majority of its
life….it has not been juggled around from owner to owner . The Cheyenne Super is an extremely popular and
sought after style of the C10 trucks as it was top of the line in late ’71 and
’72. I am head deep in 2 other restorations and simply do not have the time or room for the truck. This truck is ready to be driven as
is or is a perfect candidate for a restoration. Engine
Compartment: -v8 305 Chevy that is extremely practical for everyday driving and gets great gas mileage. It starts, idles & runs perfectly....very dependable and mechanically sound. -Quadrajet 4 barrel carb -350 Turbo Automatic Transmission that shifts great -Erson cast aluminum valve covers -New water pump -Power Steering -Power Brakes -Aftermarket 3 core radiator Exterior: -The body of this truck has no dings and is perfectly straight -The truck has nice patina as is, but if you want to do a complete restore, it does have the typical rust in the lower pocket of the right front fender, around the fender on the left back driver's side, under the passenger door corner, and in front of the passenger tub in the bed (please note pics)….all are easy to fix as plenty of companies offer replacement panels, and these issues are very typical of these trucks. If you buy one of these trucks and these are not issues, more than likely they have already been addressed. The inner fenders also have the traditional rust in the front. -Rockers, cab corners have been replaced and are in excellent shape -5 lug with power steering & disc front brakes -All steering/suspension components on this truck are tight -Undercarriage is great shape...please note pics. -New shocks -Front & rear bumpers look new -Stock height -Tires are practically new with Eagle Alloy wheels -Hitch Interior: -Tilt steering -The floor of the truck is very solid with no rust -Has jute/sound mat that is in great shape -All seals & glass are in good shape -All gauges/electrical work If you are looking for a C10 pickup, you are already
aware of the potential and value of the Cheyenne Super, and understand how
difficult they are becoming to locate. Overall, this truck is extremely solid and is a very nice dependable
driver as is or if you are looking for a candidate to restore, this truck provides the perfect platform to start. If you have any questions or want other pics,
please don’t hesitate to ask. Buyer is responsible for shipping/pickup of vehicle. Serious
inquires only! A Paypal deposit of $500 is due
within 48 hrs. from auctions end with balance due in cash, wire transfer, or
cashier’s check from bank(check will need to be verified before truck is

Junkyard Gem: 1986 Chevrolet Sprint Plus
Fri, Jun 16 2023General Motors sold second- and third-generation Suzuki Cultuses with Geo or Chevrolet Metro badging in the United States from 1989 through 2001 model years, and we've all seen plenty of those cars on the street over the years. The first-generation Cultus was sold here as well, with Chevrolet Sprint badges, and I've found a rare example of the Sprint five-door hatchback in a Northern California car graveyard. The Chevy Sprint first appeared on the West Coast as a 1985 model, then became available everywhere in the United States for the 1986 through 1988 model years (in Canada, it was sold as the Pontiac Firefly). It was available here as a hatchback with three or five doors; for 1986 only, the five-door was badged as the Sprint Plus. Soon enough, The General would be selling many more Asian-built cars with Detroit badges here. Isuzu I-Marks were sold as Chevrolet/Geo Spectrums starting in the 1986 model year, while Daewoo provided the Pontiac LeMans two years later. Under the hood, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder rated at 48 horsepower. The five-door Sprint cost $5,580 in 1986, which was $200 more than the three-door (those prices would be $15,445 and $14,891 in 2023 dollars). I've documented seven discarded Sprints prior to this one (including an extremely rare Turbo Sprint), and all of them were three-doors; we can assume that price was the most important factor for Sprint buyers. Gasoline prices were crashing hard during the middle 1980s, but memories of gas lines and odd-even-day fuel rationing from 1979 remained strong. What cars competed with the '86 Sprint on sticker price? Well, there was no way to undercut the hilariously affordable (and terrible) Yugo GV, which cost $3,990. The much bigger (but still pretty bad) Hyundai Excel listed at $4,995, while Toyota would sell you a sturdy (but zero-fun) Tercel starting at $5,448. Even the wretched Chevy Chevette — yes, it was still available in 1986 — cost $5,645. The original buyer of this car was willing to shell out an extra $395 to get an automatic instead of the base five-speed manual. That's about $1,093 in today's money. This car must have been slow. By the end, the doors were held shut with duct tape, but it still stayed alive until age 37. 53 miles per gallon on the highway! It does everything. The camels of the highway.
2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment
Thu, 07 Nov 2013That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.
Nissan Leaf ends 2013 with best sales month ever, but can't catch Chevy Volt
Fri, Jan 3 2014Nissan and Chevrolet both ended 2013 with solid sales figures for their plug-in vehicles, the first two that were released (all the way back at the end of 2010) from major automakers. As has been the story for most of 2013, December sales for the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt were roughly the same. When we left the year-to-date running tally at the end of November, the Volt was at 20,702, while the Leaf was at 20,080. As you can tell from the image above (if you've been noticing the trend in these EV sales monthly flash-reports), the Leaf outsold the Volt, but was it enough to put the Nissan on top for the year? In 2013, Nissan sold 22,610 Leafs, more than twice as many as in 2012. Almost. The Leaf made a valiant attempt, and did have its best month ever with 2,529 units sold. That means that for 2013, Nissan moved a total of 22,610 Leafs, more than twice as many as in 2012 (that year, Nissan sold only 9,819 Leafs in the US) and actually more than 2012 and 2011 Leaf sales combined (which was 19,493). Nissan continues to see the effects of its price drop and expanded sales areas, with Georgia rapidly becoming a Leaf hotbed. Nissan's Paige Presley said that Atlanta was once again the Leaf's number one market and that, "sales are expanding deeper into Georgia markets such as Macon and Columbus." The Volt saw a boost upwards from a November slump and sold 2,392 units in December. That puts the plug-in hybrid's annual total at 23,094, just down from the 23,461 sold in 2012. For all of 2013, though, the Volt outsold the Leaf by 484 vehicles. In a competition like this, we'll count that as a win for both sides. We will our more detailed monthly green car sales report, which covers more of the fuel efficient vehicles on the market, up soon.
