1970 CHEVY CHEVELLE

Being offered is a very nice 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS Tribute. This car looks, runs, drives, and sounds awesome. Here is your chance to invest in one of the most sought after body styles GM ever made, and they are steadily going up in value each year. This car offers the following:

POWERTRAIN

This Chevelle is powered by a strong running 406 Motor with mild cam. It's fueled by a Elderbrock 750 Carb with electric choke, Weiand Aluminum Intake,  new AC Delco HEI distributor, new plugs and new MSD plug wires, and coated long tube headers, newer dual 2 1/2"  exhaust with bullet  mufflers, tailpipes out the back with chrome oval tips. The car sounds awesome. The car has recently had new belts, new fluids, newer battery, new chrome alternator. All suspension components, and brakes are in good working condition. The car has power steering, and power brakes. The trans is a 350 turbo that shifts nice. The rear end is stock with 3:73 gear, new bearings and fluids. The car runs strong, and is a blast to drive.

EXTERIOR

This Chevelle has a very slick paint job, on a laser straight, rust, and dent free body. The car was painted years ago with PPG base coat clear coat, and has been well kept and well maintained for shows and cruise in's, and shows mirror like reflections as can be seen in the pictures. The 73 year old man I originally purchased this car off of had won many trophies with it over the years including a few best of shows. I would rate the paint a strong 9.5, or 9.75. The car has a GM Cowl hood.  It also has perfect chrome on bumpers, and all emblems, and trim pieces. The doors, under hood and trunk jams are nice as well. Vinyl top is in nice condition also, with no rips or tears. The undercarriage is very solid. The floors, wheel wells, and frame are all very solid. All glass and trim around glass is nice. All weatherstrip, and felts are nice. The Chevy has a very nice set of factory style SS wheels, and nice white letter Goodyear tires. The car has a nice stance and gets looks and compliments everytime I take it out.

INTERIOR

This 1970 has a perfect interior as well. The front and rear seats are in perfect condition no rips or tears. The SS door panels are in great condition. Car has newer sill plates, and newer carpet. The dash, gauges, and dash pad are in great condition. It has a nice set of aftermarket Guages under the dash, and a very nice original Super Sport steering wheel. This Chevelle has a complete set of Gm seat belts front and rear. This car has a good sounding pioneer cassette deck, pioneer power booster, with Pioneer speakers. All lights, and gauges work as they should, even the annoying key buzzer. The car also comes with the original 1970 owners manual.

GM recalls trucks and SUVs for brake pedal problem

Thu, Feb 11 2016

The Basics: General Motors will recall over 473,000 North American examples of the 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, and police pursuit versions of the Chevy Tahoe. These include 426,573 vehicles in the US and 46,837 in Canada, according to Reuters. The Problem: The brake pivot nut can loosen over time, which can render the pedal inoperative. This would be a danger to drivers trying to stop the vehicles. In some cases, the "Service Engine Soon" light might come on. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt, and if necessary they will apply adhesive to it and reinstall the part with increased torque. If You Own One: "We expect to start customer notifications shortly," GM spokesperson Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog. Related Video: Transport Canada Recall # 2016053 Recall Date 2016/02/04 Notification Type Safety Mfr System Brakes Manufacturer Recall Number 20760 Units Affected The number of vehicles or components affected by the recall. 46,837 Category Light Truck & Van, SUV Recall Details On certain Heavy Duty and Police Pursuit vehicles, the brake pedal pivot nut may become loose, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative. If the brake pedal becomes loose or inoperative, it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, and/or the driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle through application of the brake pedal, potentially affecting stopping distances and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt installation to determine whether the vehicle has already received the production remedy. If not, the dealer will add adhesive to the nut, and reinstall the nut at an increased torque. Note: This condition may result in the "Service Engine Soon" light illuminating, and brake lights may stay on longer than expected. Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names

Tue, Mar 17 2015

Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
