Tennessee car. Extremely clean. No frills, base 300 2 door. Built in Georgia and sold in late '68 at Ridley Chevrolet in Smyrna Tennessee. I bought car in 2003 with just over 46,000 miles. Title is clear and in my name.

Very evident car was taken care of through the years. White paint is mostly original and nice with a few small dents/scratches. Original body panels. Have NOT had any rust or damage to my knowledge. Trim is very nice with only very slight pitting evident in the taillight bezels. Glass is very nice. Original light blue interior with original rubber floor is very clean with no tears and very little sign of wear. Bumpers are very good. Trunk is original and very good. Underneath of car is the same great condition. Came with 230 inline 6 with powerglide trans, open 10 bolt rear axle, and no power anything.
At close to 48,000 miles in 2004 I upgraded car to 454 w/turbo 400 and 12 bolt posi rear axle, aluminum radiator, trans cooler, G.M. power steering and power disc (front) brakes, new body bushings, new g-force suspension upgrade, new fluid lines, new dual exhaust with crossover tube/cutouts, new steel cowl hood, new tach and gauges. Quality parts used. No corners cut.
***Saved all original pieces taken off of car when upgraded and stored in a heated garage. DID NOT hack anything. Car always stored in a heated garage since I have owned it (2003). Parts will go with the car if wanted by the purchaser***
Documentation pertaining to the car will go with the car to the purchaser.
Car runs and drives very well. You can drive this car anywhere. Car has been to Tennessee and Ohio several times and throughout Michigan with no issues. Many cruises (Woodward being one) and does not overheat. Everything works on the car. Car has been "driven" but not mistreated.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

Weekly Recap: BMW rolls out ambitious plug-in hybrid electric plan

Sat, Dec 6 2014

"We believe that for the United States, this is going to be very important." – Julian Arguelles Let there be no doubt, BMW is serious about electric vehicles. The German automaker said this week it will make plug-in hybrid versions of all of its core models, an aggressive move that demonstrates its commitment to electric propulsion systems. BMW did not specify which vehicles will get the plug-in systems or provide a timeline for when they will arrive. But the announcement is clearly more than blustering, and the company revealed a 3 Series plug-in prototype this week at an event in France. BMW said the 3 Series uses a version of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine (240 horsepower, 300 pound feet of torque) with an electric motor sandwiched between the engine and transmission in place of the torque converter. It has an all-electric range of 22 miles. A plug-in X5 with the same powertrain was also displayed alongside the 3 Series, though the X5 has been on the auto-show circuit for more than a year, including a recent stop in Los Angeles. Those two vehicles use "eDrive," and BMW's plans represent the first widespread transfer of its technology from development of the i3 and i8 models to more mainstream products. BMW said it's developing electric powertrains so they can be deployed rapidly across its range, and they are flexible enough to be used with fuel cells in future products. Enticingly, BMW is also working on a "Power eDrive" system, which debuted in a 5 Series GT concept at the event in France. This setup has two electric motors powered by a 20-kilowatt-hour battery pack, and when teamed with a four-cylinder turbo, pump out about 670 hp. Reinforcing BMW's commitment, the company will add more than 200 jobs at its factory in Dingolfing, Germany, to support electric-vehicle development. The moves come as BMW and other automakers diversify their portfolios while fuel economy and emissions regulations are getting tighter around the world. The United States has set a 54.5-mpg CAFE requirement for the 2025 model year. BMW said the electric vehicles were developed with an eye toward the US market, its government policies and its wide-ranging commuting styles. "We believe that for the United States, this is going to be very important," spokesman Julian Arguelles said. Ben Scott, a senior analyst in London with automotive research firm IHS, said BMW's moves are expensive – but necessary – to keep pace with the market.
