This Chevelle is a great driver. I have had it out a lot lately and it really runs and handles well. The engine is a 67 date coded 396/325
that maintains in excess of 50lbs oil pressure and no smoke. It starts right up and idles smooth. The brakes, exhaust, tires and wheels are recent and the car has been very reliable. The doors close perfectly and the gaps are excellent. Mechanically the car is great and ready to drive anywhere.
The upholstery and side panels are in in perfect condition. The dash, headliner and carpet are excellent as well. The radio opening has not been cut and the stereo works well.
The paint overall is very shiny and was a high end job but there are some areas that paint popping is present. It is repairable without a full repaint as no problems exist in the graphics but I was holding off as I was planning a possible color change.
The car is all metal with no evidence of thick bondo. (very light magnet sticks everywhere). The floors and rockers are excellent and don't appear have ever been patched. There is no rust through anywhere on the car. The paint is about 10 year old base/clear. The suspension is good with no problems. It has traction bars but they are bolted on and easily removable if desired.
Overall this is a great driver that just happens to also be a real SS 396 4 speed. It is very enjoyable as is or very worth taking to the next level. The miles of 56,000 are actual on the title and the car has been in the same state for a long time so I have no reason not to think they aren't possibly correct. (the car is very tight)
I really like this car and would not be selling if I had the time to enjoy it.
The car will be made available for inspection any time during the auction weather permitting. It is and has always been garage kept.
Please feel free to contact me for an appointment or more detailed info.
Thank you

Bob Lutz says Tesla remains 'fringe' brand
Sun, Sep 28 2014We've said it before, we'll said it again: Bob Lutz gives great quotes. From his toilet-themed opinion of global warming to Toyota's deity status, the man knows how to get your attention. His latest? Saying that Tesla Motors is and will remain a fringe brand. Take that, Tesla fanbois. This, of course, is the same fringe company that prompted Lutz and his former colleagues at General Motors to start working on the Chevy Volt around eight years ago. The same fringe company that has easily outsold the similarly priced (but don't call it a competitor) Cadillac ELR with its Model S. Lutz did clarify that the fringe status will only last until Tesla comes out with a mass-market electric vehicle that has a range of 200 to 300 miles. Lutz was on CNBC talking about the TSLA stock's recent performance, and he pointed out that even Tesla CEO Elon Musk says that the California automaker's stock is overvalued these days. Despite its prevalence around these parts, Tesla is not yet a household brand. But the company is working hard to get a cheaper, long-range EV to market in the not-too-distant future, so this fringe thing may not last much longer than that show Fringe did. Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
