I need to sell my 1974 Chevelle Laguna S3 as soon as possible. I bought it about 5 years ago with the intention of building a street car that I could run at track day events as well. My dad helped me build it and helped with the expenses. Now he is ill and I want to give him the money he has invested in this car to help with his expenses. The car is a good running and driving car, it is almost complete with the exception of some interior trim and paint work. I have all the interior parts and they do come with the car, it will need a new headliner. All the glass is good, the power windows work properly, I even have the original factory swivel buckets seats that I will include. The car has had A LOT of work done to it. The car only has a little over 250 mile on it since I got it back on the road again after the rebuild. I don't have any Idea what the miles were before the rebuild as the odometer did not work. But since the dashboard and all the instruments have been replaced at the same time as all the mechanical work I can only use the mileage shown on the new speedometer. The car is a real factory S3 with the vinyl top delete option, which gives it the full size rear quarter windows. The NASCAR version of the S3 had this option, it is very rare for a street version. We did a lot of fabrication work to get rid of over five hundred pounds of weight and still not have it all cut up. I bough a fiberglass hood, trunk lid and rear bumper to save additional weight, but I haven't had time to install them. The car has the original 400CID small block engine that came in the car. The engine has been completely rebuilt. All of the machine work, balancing and cylinder heads were done by Orange engines, in Anaheim CA. The engine is bored .030 over stock to make it 406 CID. It has SpeedPro power forged pistons, Eagle forged steel crankshaft and Eagle forged connecting rods. The engine was balanced, decked and line bored. It has a Comp Cams performance cam and lifters. The heads are camel hump fuel injection SBC heads that were completely rebuilt by Orange Engine. The transmission was replaced with a new Turbo 400 from "Luke's transmission" in Riverside Ca. It has a Hurst ProMatic II ratchet shifter. The transmission is designed for the street and track day use. It will handle engines up to 800HP. It has stainless steel drums, HD clutches, manual valve body, HD internals and a deep sump pan. The torque converter is a 2500RPM HD unit designed for the street and track use. We also installed a HD external transmission cooler. The suspension has been modified to handle better and have a lower ride height. It has new NASCAR upper control arms, with custom made control arm mounts that incorporate dual position mounting brackets. The lower control arms are also fabricated NASCAR units. It has high performance GM front coil springs. Both the upper and lower control arms have the large HD ball joints. The exhaust system has long tube headers new mufflers and a NASCAR boom tube side exit exhaust. It sound great! The car has AERO 15X10 NASCAR style steel wheels with new 265x50x15 tires. The dashboard is fabricated with all new mechanical instruments. It has new front bucket seats and quick release seat belts. The car has had more work than I can list and I hate to sell it when it is so close to being finished. All that needs to be done is some interior work, a little body work and a paint job. The body has some rust but it is an easy fix. The trunk and frame are good, the only issues I know of are the ones I took pictures of. I have driven the car almost 300 miles since I got it running, it does not over heat, it doesn't seem to have any issues, it runs and drives very good and it is plenty fast! As I said before I need to sell this car to help my dad with his expenses, so I have decided to list it cheap and with NO RESERVE! I am also including the new fiberglass hood, the new fiberglass trunk lid and the new fiberglass rear bumper with the car. I will also include all my spare and original parts with the sale. I have the original swivel bucket seats, the center consul and a lot of other parts. Since I am listing this car for such a low starting bid and with NO RESERVE I am selling it as-is with no returns. Please feel free to ask questions. The registration is current, I have the clear CA title (pink slip) there are no issues, no back fees, NO salvage title, it's in my name, no problems, it's all good. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

This is how GM is hiding new Chevy Volt in public
Wed, Oct 1 2014General Motors is letting the public know that, well, it's not about to let the public know anything else about the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. But the automaker is willing to talk about its camouflaging process for upcoming versions of the extended-range plug-in. So it's a half-hearted secret, at best. GM actually has a "camouflage engineer" charged with creating ways to disguise the styling of new vehicles. In the Volt's case, the company is applying black and white swirly color patterns on top of the materials, such as plastics, vinyl and foam, that are used liberally across the body. It's all part of a teaser campaign that started last month with pictures of part the 2016 Volt. Earlier this month, GM said it was keeping track of Volt drivers' habits as it works on the next-gen model. The company noted that more than four out of five trips are being made in all-electric driving mode, and that 60 percent of Volt owners use a plain-old 100-volt outlet to recharge their cars. The car is slated to make its global debut at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next January, and the early word is that performance and all-electric range will be improved (we should hope so). The car will also be sleeker. By how much, we can't tell yet, because of those darn swirly patterns. GM's got more non-details in its press release below. Engineers charged with hiding styling while vehicle testing proceeds in public DETROIT – The styling of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is one of the automotive world's best-kept secrets. Keeping customers and media eager to see the successor to the groundbreaking original at bay until the new Volt debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January is tricky business. First, it is engineers, not designers, who are charged with creating camouflage that balances styling secrecy with the need to validate the Volt and its systems in public. "If it were up to me it would be a shoebox driving down the road," said Lionel Perkins, GM camouflage engineer. "The design team wants us to cover more of the vehicle and the engineering team needs to have enough of the vehicle's weight and aero exposed so that the tests in the development process are consistent with the product that will come to market." The engineers responsible for the "cool" designs covering the car might deserve style points but their efforts are intended strictly to hide the metal beneath.
2016 Chevy Volt to make auto show debut this season
Wed, Jul 30 2014Ever since we saw that spy shots of the 2016 Chevy Volt, we've been hungering for more information on the next-gen version of GM's green halo car. It appears we might not have long to wait, at least for an official tease. An inside source that wishes to remain anonymous told AutoblogGreen that GM will make two announcements regarding the second-gen Volt at the CAR Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, MI next week. The first, and most intriguing, is that that we will get our first glimpse of the new Volt at some point during the upcoming auto show season. That means either Los Angeles later this year or else Detroit, Chicago or New York in early 2015. The second bit of news is that GM will be moving production of the electric motors from Mexico to Michigan. Details and official confirmation are, of course, missing and Chevrolet declined comment to AutoblogGreen. We should know more next week.
Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
