1972 Chevrolet Chevell Ss 4 Speed on 2040-cars
Parkersburg, West Virginia, United States
1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS (clone) #'s matching car. This car was done to SS specs to a tee by a GM master tech ASE mechanic that knew what he was doing. He was a real perfectionist and you can tell. The engine is a 355 cu in backed by a 4-Speed Muncie transmission with a Hurst shifter. Engine is completly new with approx 4000 miles on it. New flat top pistons with mild cam, magnafluxed block with brass freeze plugs. Motor was done right by Polly Racing Co. Engine has new Eldebrock intake with a new 650 Holley carb sitting on top. Transmission is a correct Muncie 4 speed with a Hurst shifter. New 11" clutch, pressure plate, throughout bearing and bell housing also new boots and linkage. Rear spring are new as well. All bumpers are original with bumper guards, not pitted. Stainless is all in excellent condition. Black vinyl top is new. The paint on the car is excellent in everyway. There are a few flaws here and there but no disappointments. The car was completed approx 4 years ago and has been garage kept. Underneath of the car is in emaculate shape, detailed and very clean. Car has always been in a temperature controled garage with a cover on it. Correct SS wheels with all new trim and caps mounted on brand new BF Goodrich TA radials 245x60x15. All gauges and instrument cluster, horn, lights, wipers etc all work. AC is complete on car however does not work and was told they thought it was the evaporator core but everything is hooked up. Interior in car is in really great shape and nice, no rips or tears. Dash pad and headliner are all really nice no rips or tears. This is a rust free car to the best of my knowledge. I feel that the car speaks for itself and I don't think there will be any disappointment with this purchase. The car is now For Sale locally and can be sold at any time. Any questions feel free to call @ 304-483-7772 Thanks Scott |

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
Ram 1500 bests new F-150 in MT pickup shootout
Tue, Nov 25 2014Ford's 2015 Ford F-150 is a technological tour-de-force, what with its aluminum-intensive construction and its powerful and efficient new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine option. But now that it's hit the market, it's time to get down to brass tacks and find out how just the latest F-150 actually stands up to its rivals in the hyper-competitive fullsize segment. Motor Trend is among the first to round up the Ford (in Lariat 2.7-liter 4X4 guise here) and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4x4 and 5.3-liter-equipped Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 to find out how Dearborn's new-think truck measures up. The test put the trio through over 1,000 miles of tough driving in California and Arizona in a variety of conditions from just cruising around unladen to hauling a trailer. MT found all three trucks to be competent, but the most praise got heaped on the Ram and the Ford, with the Chevrolet falling a step behind its competitors in many tests. Among the Ford's most-liked features was its 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 that helped make the F-150 easily the quickest of the group, with some editors saying the engine felt about the same whether driving around with cargo in the bed or not. There was some minor turbo lag during acceleration while trailering, but that issue affected the Ram, too. The Ram's powertrain was lauded, as well. The EcoDiesel was torquey around town, and the 1500's combination of an eight-speed automatic and air suspension was judged to be the best of the lot. It was the most difficult to get into the bed, though. The Ram also won the fuel economy award by netting 20-miles-per-gallon city and 28-mpg highway in the test to beat its Environmental Protection Agency ratings of 19/27. The Ford's EcoBoost managed 17/22, one mpg off each from the EPA numbers, and using a lot of throttle really depleted its efficiency. As MT notes, however, it would take time for the diesel's mileage savings to pay off at the pump for these two trucks. In the end, the Ram just barely eked out the win, with the title partially earned because of "the Ford's unknown maintenance and aluminum repair costs," according to MT.
