Up for sale is a 72 SS Chevelle with a date correct 402 big block with a muncie 4 speed, 3:31 posi rear and f41 suspension. This car brought to us from an elderly lady. Her husband owed the the car for the last 16 years which is noted on the title. He pasted away 12 years ago and its been sitting in her garage since. When we went to pick up the car. It started right up. I drove the car 60 miles to my shop at 65 mph with no issues what ever. I then put on the lift and inspected the under carriage. There is no rust in floor boards, trunk or frame at all. Then we went to interior tach, speedo work correct clock is not. Fasten seat belt light works great and still has the am/fm 8 track still installed. There is some small cracks in the driver and passenger front seats, rear is perfect. Needs dome light and sail panel material tightened up. No cracks in the dash pad. The 4 speed console is in the trunk not sure why its not installed its all in tact.We then went to the drive train hoping we had a numbers matching car. After running the stamp codes on the front on the block it came back as a 1972 402 LS3 from and automatic Chevelle. We decoded the trans and rear and they are also date correct. We then went to exterior body one rust spot on the right lower front fender and front of the hood that was it. It has dings and scratches I would guess from sitting in the garage because I had to help get boxes and sports equipment from around the car to get it out. I specialize in frame off restorations on Camaro's and Chevelle's. if would like us to do work for you. If the car doesn't sell we will start the frame off in April. Before the end of the listing we will do an oil change, tune up, install the rear valance, console and correct chrome tips on the exhaust. Car needs paint, carpeting (fading), seat cover 2 front seats, dome light to be a very nice 72 SS Big Block.
Thsi car can be driven anywhere. I can be contacted on my cell at 321-695-3740 PLEASE TEXT FIRST I dont answer calls I don't recognize because of the number of calls I get in a day. Thanks and good luck. Bill Howell

Corvette Z06 and Viper TA square off at the strip
Wed, Jan 21 2015There are many long-standing grudge matches among automobiles: 911 vs GT-R, Mustang vs Camaro, Ferrari vs Lamborghini... but as far as high-end American metal goes, it doesn't get much more legendary than Viper vs 'Vette. So after Chevy released the new Corvette Z06, we knew it was only a matter of time before it would have to square off against the Viper TA. And what better place to pit these two parallel pillars of American performance than on the drag strip? Fortunately that's just what we have here. In one corner, the 2014 Dodge Viper TA, with its 8.4-liter V10 pumping out 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. In the other, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the supercharger on its 6.2-liter V8 more than making up for the discrepancy in displacement and cylinder count to produce 650 hp and just as much torque. But numbers don't tell the whole story, so watch the video clip to see which reaches the end of the quarter-mile first. Looking back on our favorite cars of Mad Men
Tue, Apr 7 2015The second half of the seventh and final season of Mad Men debuted this week, set to cap a run of public and critical acclaim. A decade's worth of interesting cars also made for good television, if you were paying attention. Vehicles didn't often steal the spotlight from Don, Betty, Roger, Joan and the gang, but they added meaningfully to the tone and beauty of the series. We sorted through the wheeled extras from Mad Men's archives, and choose some of our favorites to highlight. The list consists of cars that had at least a small impact on the plot of an episode, though certainly there are worthy gems hiding in just about every street and driving scene. Check out our subjective top five, and then let us know which of the Mad Men cars would be on your list. 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille – Season 2 Don Draper's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, all 500 feet of it, shows up in a few seasons of the show, but it's the first appearance that sets the tone. A Cadillac salesman, cut from the same cloth as Draper, asks what Don drives right now. "A Dodge," Don admits. "Those are wonderful if you want to get somewhere," allows the salesman, "this is for when you've already arrived." For a man on the move up corporate and social ladders that's a powerful message, and a pitch-perfect car. 1961 Lincoln Continental – Season 3 The most stylish Lincoln Continental ever is perfect set dressing for the mod show, of course. Though it's interesting that the car isn't cast as dapper Draper's ride, but rather his father-in-law's. Grandpa Gene does what all great grandfathers are bound to: lets his granddaughter Sally drive the big Lincoln while he works the pedals. Generational bond secured, in fine fashion. When you go back through the first three seasons of the show, you'll notice that Continentals show up more than once, too. There's nothing quite like them to evoke the best of the early '60s. 1963 John Deere 110 – Season 3 The only non-standard passenger vehicle on the list, no self-respecting gearhead/Mad Men fan should quibble with the inclusion of the John Deere 110 riding mower. For starters, the Deere is lovely to look at; a miniature version of the American Heartland icon in its green and yellow duds. The 110 appears as if milled from a solid block of steel, just the opposite of today's sleek, plasticky lawn minders (we're scouring Craigslist for one to bring home). The John Deere also has dear ramifications to the plot, too.
