1970 Chevrolet Chevelle on 2040-cars

I've owned this car for several years; it was framed off 8 years ago. This was a 100% rust free car to begin with.
I sandblasted the frame and painted it, all suspension, seals, bearings, brakes, drag lengths, tie rod ends, ect.
anything that was wearable was replaced new. New interior, new top, exhaust, non matching year dated 454 bored .60
over with mild cam was installed, 400 turbo, 12 bolt posi traction rear end, front and rear sway bars, car has
FACTORY ice cold air, has only had 1541 miles put on it since restoration, has single belt serpentine system. This
car goes down the interstate running 80mph with ease or runs up and down the street like a zo6 running and sounding
great. There is so much more I can say about it but you just have to come see it to truly appreciate how nice this
car is. This is one of the nicest super sport convertibles you will find anywhere and probably the cheapest out
there. Before you ask, I don't have the build sheet or the protective plate, but I'm still looking because I had
the build sheet at one time and somewhere its gotten lost over the years. The only fault physically anywhere on the
car is that there is a small slit maybe, 3/4in long on the rear of the top, but doesn't leak water and very hard to
notice. Gets all the looks at every cruise in I take it to during the summer and hope the next owner will
appreciate it as much as I have. Turned 62 and just selling off some old cars for retirement.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
