SHORT DISCRIPTION: For your consideration I'm selling a good looking 1970 Chevelle with black Super Sport stripes, it is not a real Super Sport, it just has the cowl hood and Super Sport stripes. It has a sweet running 350 cubic inch engine, 4 barrel carburetor, and a super clean engine compartment . The transmission is a nice shiftingTurbo 350 3 speed automatic. The car drives good, it is power steering, the brakes are drums all around and not power,  "you have to give it a little foot". The red paint is nice, it has no dents or dings, no rust bubbles and I consider reasonable straight to look down the sides. The interior is good used condition, no bad smells, the headliner is good, the seats good with a little wear on the edge of a seam of the drivers seat (look at the pictures), the carpet good, the dash pad has no cracks. The chrome is nice over all, the bumpers look like new, emblems good, door handles good.  The wheels early 70s Chevrolet Rallies and the tires good.  "This is a good looking car, its no 100 point show car to roll out of the trailer at the car show, its in nice condition, but not a brand new car, it a nice driver quaity".

VIN: 136370k203547 and the VIN plate matches the title. I have a hard clear title in hand.

MIEAGE: I forgot to write it down, I'll post it later.

TITLE: Clear Indiana title in hand.

HISTORY: We bought the car in the Smoky Mountains from a man that was restoring it for his self. He was buying a new house and needed the money.

......................................................................................................................................................................................

The flowing information is long and detailed if you still have interest!

WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM:  My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, TennesseeAthens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 67 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 42. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam.  I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American.  I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 43 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE!

WILL I SELL THE CAR OFF EBAY MOTORS? Yes, I'm not crazy, I know the most of you are not registered on ebay and use it as a research tool.

MY REAL PRICE IS $14,999 That's what it takes to buy the car on or off ebay motors, you dealers wanting to resell have to pay the same. I have been doing this for a long time and I know the game, I don't play it the same as most and I sell every car I put for sell. Price other comparable 1970 Chevelles.

PLEASE NO TRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Thank you, but I will not trade, why should I trade when I have a hot selling car, I don't need motor cycles, boats, jewelry or your used false teeth.

I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY!!!!! I worship on sunday, I spend time with my family and I rest. I'm doing this because I love it, "I need a day off". I will be happy to show you cars 6 days a week, call in advance to set up a time, "I'm 67 years old and life is more than just cars".

Sorry, but I do not do videos. I'm old and don't want to learn and mess with them, I sell my cars anyway.

IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS?    The underside looks good, but not sanded smooth and detailed for show. The frame, supports and bottom panels all look very good to me. The car has no real thick under coating so you can see the floors good.

IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE?  None that I can find and the title states none.

WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR?     I’m a retired mechanic/auto-mechanic instructor/was a Army helicopter mechanic and instructor. When I find a truck or car I like for a good price I buy it fix things and resell for a fair profit. I did not restore this car, I just fixed a few things.

IS THIS A MATCHING NUMBERS CAR? I don't know if it is or not.

PAINT:    The paint is very shinny, no dents, no dings, the car is reasonable straight, up close under a critical eye inspection you will see some specs in the paint. I consider the paint nice for a 1970 in this price range.

CHROME:      The chrome and bright work are nice, the bumper look new.

INTERIOR:   No smoke smell, the interior is good used condition, the headliner and carpet are good.

UNSERSIDE:    Solid, but not painted shinny to put mirrors under at the car show.

GLASS:    The side glasses roll up and down good and look good.

ENGINE:    Engine runs very good, its a 350 cubic inch,  no blue smoke, it has no bad leaks, no knocks or pings.

EXHAUST SYSTEM:  Dual exhaust in good used condition.

TRANSMISSION:   Its a Turbo 350 that shifts good, needs a dust cover.

REAR-END:     It has no bearing noises, no growls, its a 10 bolt, it has a good highway gearing.

BRAKES:  Drums all around and not power.

STEERING:   The cars drives very good, it is power steering.

WHEELS AND TIRES:     Early 70s Rally wheels that are in nice condition, the tires have good tread.

LIGHTS:     They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work, dome light not working.

GUAGES:   Gas gauge works and the others are in a pod under dash and work.

WIPERS WORK! SPEEDOMETER WORKS

HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE and panel fit?    I think the doors fit and open very good, the hood and trunk fit good for the year.

WOULD I DRIVE THE CAR HOME ON A LONG TRIP: I never recommend driving a old car home, I just test drive them and drive them some around town, but I do think this car would drive anywhere.

DID I RESTORE THIS CAR? No!

WHY DON'T I FIX EVERYTHING: It runs the cost up and I have too many projects.

TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard!

**************I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY AND I'M HARD TO GET ON THE PHONE, PLEASE EMAIL ON SUNDAY!**************

CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day.

     cell    423-506-8987     email:  dreamcar@live.com

PAPERWORK: I know what to do! WE DO NOT HAVE A SHOW ROOM WITH OVERHEAD! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many.

THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the vehicle “come look”.

I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET.

WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED:  The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of  Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights.

US OR EXPORT "Nations Auto Transport" is located in the Kansas City area: This is a good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas.

Call Jim Page....his work number is 816-295-6887 and his email is jpage@shipnat.com

MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40,  so transport is usually very fast.

PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take this by PayPal, but not full payment.

Option 1: Pay the old school way with green face to face.

Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the most checks clear, I have had

a fake bank certified check.  I will take a bank cashiers check with lots of

identification and advance notice so I can check you out.

Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a

member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire

transfer. I will not give out my banking information until I get your information.

INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 66 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but lots of them do not impress me at all, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself.  I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first, I will not stop the listing and wait for a inspector!

TRADES: Please no trades!

I do not finance cars! If your going to finance, get pre-approved.

BOTTOM LINE:    My price is really $14,999, I am firm and asking more on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down, but I don't like that game. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down.

PLEASE!!!!!!   PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle.

Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it!

Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place.

I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY if you don't come and inspect the car.

Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info.

Thank You,

Ron Watson                  cell: 423-506-8987        email: dreamcar@live.com

First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up at just 891 miles

Thu, Jan 1 2015

You've waited and watched and waited some more for the arrival of your 650-horsepower, $78,000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, that joyous day arrives and you eagerly, but gingerly, begin to break-in the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 monster under your hood. Then 900-odd miles after delivery, your excitement grinds, quite literally, to a halt. That's what the owner of one 2015 Z06 claimed happened to him when a simple break-in drive resulted in a lunched engine. The owner, known as Lawdogg149 on Corvette Forum, says he was out breaking-in his car ahead of a January track event when it happened. "While making a pull from 35 miles per hour, I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom - the car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. I could hear a loud knock coming from the No. 6 cylinder area along with a serious, grinding, metal-on-metal sound coming from the supercharger area," Lawdogg wrote. A subsequent trip to the dealer confirmed his concerns, with the service facility telling Lawdogg that the No. 6 valvetrain had failed. The dealer couldn't research the issue further, though, as General Motors requested the engine be returned for a more thorough evaluation. The good news for the Z06's unlucky owner, at least, is that GM will be covering the engine replacement under warranty, an expense that Corvette Forum estimates is a nearly $24,000 procedure. At this point, the two leading theories behind the engine's detonation involve a manufacturing defect – which could be why GM is so keen to tear the blown powerplant down – or a mistake on the part of Lawdogg. As Motor Authority points out, such an error could be something as simple as the Z06's owner accidentally shifting to first rather than third during his 35-mph pull. If, however, there's a deeper manufacturing problem with the Z06's engine, this might not be the only case we end up hearing about.

Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.

Is Buick's surprise Detroit concept a Camaro-sized coupe?

Sun, Jan 10 2016

Tomorrow night marks the unofficial start of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Keep your eyes peeled for a number of reveals, including a surprise debut from Buick. Yes, Buick. And we think it's going to be something really hot. According to a report from Bloomberg, the Tri-Shield's secret car could be a Camaro-sized sport coupe concept. As Bloomberg explains, it'd certainly gel with the impression the company is trying to put out – that it's no longer a brand for those with one foot in the grave. Introducing a sports coupe, even as a concept, could certainly reinforce that message. And if it happens to make production – which is not a certainty, Bloomberg's secret source says – it could certainly help Buick drive its average buyer age down from 59. Bloomberg doesn't offer any speculation on Buick's new coupe, but we have no problem making educated guesses. Our most reliable conjecture is this: it will ride on General Motors' Alpha platform, which underpins both the Camaro and the Cadillac ATS. And with a certain twin-turbocharged V6 in the GM stable, we've got an idea of what kind of engine could be shown. That speculation will have to suffice for now. But don't worry, we'll have official details, live images, and video tomorrow when Buick unveils its new concept in Detroit's Eastern Market.
