THIS IS A RESTORATION IN PROGRESS! This is NOT a complete running car. There is still sheet metal work to be finished and a few rust spots left to repair. But all the major sheet metal repair has been done. We are selling this car because we just don't have time to finish it, with running two businesses. We don't have to sell this car we just don't have time to finish it and we'd like to see it go to someone who can finish it. There is some wiggle room on the price but not much because we do have a lot of money invested in this already.
We bought this car in 2011 and had it shipped here from Ohio, bought it sight unseen. We paid a couple grand for this car, knowing that id we didn't buy it this Original Chevelle might have found its way to a scrap yard. When the car arrived the seller obviously did not describe it as it was, the spare tire and gas tank were falling thru the trunk because the trunk had rotted thru entirely, and the rust didn't stop there the more we started scrapping and cleaning out we realized it was in major need of total restoration. We started ordering parts from Ground Up Restoration including a full floor with rockers and all braces, right and left FULL quarter panels, drip rail supports, right and left floor pans to replace where the toe pans had rotted, a full trunk floor with braces, quarter panel extensions right and left side, brand new trunk lid, rear window panel, right and left taillight extensions, tail lamp support brace, right and left firewall brackets, right and left full complete doors (NOT just skins). All the parts with tax and shipping equals almost $5,000, that's not including the cost of putting the parts on. This is what needs to be done to finish- toe pans, front firewall braces are welded on you need to finish welding in the full floor the quarters and the extensions in the back with a spot welder. We didn't have time to finish replacing rear fender wells, we were intending to mini tub the car once we had the floors in place. The braces under the backseat inside the car are screwed in and as a personal preference if you want to replace these or just patch them in since they aren't seen anyway. There are a couple spots around the top of the dash the will need some patches made. Again all this gets hidden under the dash pad and all the stainless trim that goes on the outside. A lot of the cracks and crevices that had some rust on them we sprayed with Eastwood's rust encapsulator, which acts as a navel jelly and stops rust. In the back of the car under the back window valance panel could use a couple patches here and there which again is hidden by the outer valence panel that we purchased new. As far as the frame goes it has its typical rust spots, it can be patched, but we were going to replace it with a box style frame and new suspension so we didn't put any emphasis on that just yet. It is a non-posi rear, front disc brakes, power steering. We have a 400 trans to go with the car, no engine the engine was shot and we do not have it anymore. We have 85% of all the parts we took out of the car, except for, from fenders and hood, and front and back seats. Just a note all the hard sheet metal work is done, it is a lot of work replacing full floors and full quarter panels.Any shop would have charged $10,000 for all this work to be done. My personal opinion if we were to continue with this car I would have lightly sand blasted the rest of the inside of this car.
Car has its clear Certificate of Title from Ohio ( as seen in pic) that we never signed, which we will give at the time of transaction. We have the original front and rear bumpers, front grill assembly and radiator support they are not in very good condition but you are welcome to have them. Feel free to go on Ground Up Restoration's website and add up all these parts so you can see just in parts how much is invested.
We would prefer local pickup, but we had this car shipped when we bought it we paid almost $700 to have it shipped from Ohio, so if you want to have it shipped, you ave to make the arrangements and pay for it. We will make sure the parts are secure in the car and the body is secure to the frame. But if you have it shipped you might want it shipped in an enclosed carrier because the car is in bare metal.
Please serious buyers only. We have a few more pics showing every detail of this car. The car is in a 1 car garage which makes it difficult to push in and out every time someone wants to see it, Thank you for you understanding.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]
Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
