this car here that i have listed,is probably the most unusual car i have ever seen.ive been dealing in only camaro, chevelles and novas for 33 years.and out of the 200-300 cars ive owned, this one by far stands out.it has an astonishing 25 factory and dealer installed options.when most people bought or special ordered a ss-396,thats all they wanted.then to find a ss-396 with air cond, was the icing on the cake.then to have one with 25 rare and highly desirable options to it is unheard of.!then throw in the fact that 46 years later it still has all the original paper work that came with it in the original folder, plus warranty receipts of work that was done to it back in 68.there are pictures of all this including the words "display"on the pre-delivery check sheet.that is usually filled out when the owner orders the car.but since display is there, makes me think it was loaded up like this for a floor model showing of just about every option that was available at that time.it was later sold at a cost of almost $4000.00.at a time that most ss cars like this could be bought for 2700.00.it includes the owners manual ,protecto plate, original bill of sale.

this car originally sold new at city chevrolet in charlotte n.c.and has always remained in this area the whole time.90%of everything still works on it to the best of my knowledge.including the power windows (all) the power door locks, lights wipers turn signals, brake lights ect.....

car runs and drives like it should.engine doesnt smoke or is noisey.transmission changes excellent the car dont sway,or pull on the road.it actually drives eceptionally good considering the age of the car.tires are goodyear eagle gts.and are in great shape.seats, door panels, and headliner is all in good shape.the carpet which seems to be the original like the rest of the interior is showing the worst for wear.

car has very little rust in my opinion.ive restored cars like this 6 days a week for 29 years and this one is a walk in the park to some.trunk is in very good shape,it needs a couple of screw driver holes fixed(some quick fix for leaks over time)the floors, rockers, body structure, and frame are darn near perfect.as far as the rust that needs attention, there is some bubbles under just the very lower vynil top at the trunk lid which is common.and of course the very bottoms of fenders about the size of a tennis ball which is common.and the only other is at back lower of quarter panels.they can easily be cut out and replaced with only a patch the size of a tennis ball.

there is so much of great things on this car, but there is a few things on the down side, one is the original engine is long gone.it now has a 70 396-350 h.p.it has what i think is the original exhaust pipes and mufflers on the back but they lead up to headers instead of the original manifolds.and it has a weiand aluminum intake painted engine  color, but i have a correct intake that goes with it.

heres the wrap up,look at the pictures, your going to see both original gm hoses issued on the car and still holding hot water.there is an original tiger paw red line still mounted on an original wheel in the trunk with all jack related parts.all glass is very nice, all chrome and trim is very nice.a/c needs an exspansion valve but its all ther and the compressor turns with the drive belt.it 2 of the original t-3headlights are still in it.you can tell this is definatley a 136,000 mile car.

the original color on this car is a gold color with the gold/green interior.it has a crappy gray/dark green on it now and it seems to been on there since theaerly 80s.

o.k. now the rarist part,options.they are as follows;
1-ss-396
2-turbo400
3-p.s.
4-p.brakes
5-disc brakes
6-a/c
7-cruise control
8-tilt wheel
9-wood wheel
10-power windows(that all work)
11-power door locks (that work)
12-tinted glass
13-bucket seats
14-door edge guard
15-left and right mirror
16-tissue dispenser
17-under hood light
18-trunk light
19-rally wheels
20-vynil top
21-red lines
22-am-fm
23-rare magnetic pulse distributor
24-positraction
25-heavy duty battery

ive read over the years in books and price guides on how to value older cars like this.most will agree that you add 25%for documentation.(its all here)and you can add 25%for a/c .that comes to an extra 50%over a regular desirable super sport chevelle?............so what can you count for a true survivor with 25 options???we will find out what people think?

i hope i have answered all you questions on here.if you have any and your serious i will do my best to answer them.im not excepting trades,so please do not ask.the car is for sale now at all times and is subject to be sold at any given time.if you would like to have someone look at the car for you, that will be fine.i represent my cars to the best of my ability and i am in no way out to deceive people for money.

look at cars on here and you will see nice restored chevelles in the range of 30-45k with probably no documents and just steering and brakes.this car in my opinion should have a catagory one restoration on it to demand the big money it deserves and to preserve the rare history that it carries.this car will only continue to grow in value,it is better than money in the bank, this is definately a 55-60,000 dollar car if its done right.....there you have it ,please keep em alive, dont let em die.

i forgot to mention this earlier,i wasnt able but to put 24 pictures up,i have probably 40 more that if your really serious, i could get them to you.thanks

Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years

Fri, Feb 21 2014

Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up. Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

No, Cadillac is not killing its flagship CT6 sedan

Sat, Jul 22 2017

Mark Twain never actually said that reports of his death had been greatly exaggerated. But if the Cadillac CT6 could talk, those are the exact words it would use. Speaking to Jalopnik, Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen confirmed, emphatically, "There is absolutely no plan, at all, to cancel the CT6." In fact, says de Nysschen, the CT6 will soon be the beneficiary of significant investment. "The [CT6] forms a very important part of our product strategy going forward for the brand. The car also has a very major contribution to make to the shaping of brand perceptions, and the transformational process that Cadillac is undergoing." For instance, expect the CT6 to spearhead General Motors' most advanced forays into self-driving automobile technology. Interestingly, though, the Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans probably won't live past their current generations as the automaker 're-balances its sedan portfolio.' Replacement models are "in development" right now, says de Nysschen, which will "much more clearly separate the market position, both in terms of target customer demographics, in terms of market segments and in terms of price points between these three sedan lineups." So, that's confirmation that the Cadillac CT6 is going to stick around for a while. But what of other models cited by Reuters to potentially be killed, like the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala and Volt? Read our take on that here, but suffice it to say that we don't think they're in danger, either.
