1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Ss Real "138" Car Roller Needs Restoration on 2040-cars
New Lenox, Illinois, United States
Engine:396
Drive Type: Rear drive
Model: Chevelle
Mileage: 88,000
Trim: SS
1967 Chevelle SS 396 project, NO motor or transmission, the rear is a 10 bolt from a Malibu. I have a clear title, car is a real "138" code, which designates it as a real SS 396 car. The data tag on the firewall is pictured, reveals that the car is paint code D-D which is Nantucket Blue (more subdued than "Marina Blue"), originally an M21 4 speed transmission (not included), with bright blue bucket seats (not included), console (not included), tinted glass all around, and a rear speaker.
The car is strictly a project car in need of a total restoration. It needs quarter panels and rear wheelhouses. There is some rust in the trunk, although it is not terrible. The floors are pretty good, though there are a few spots that need repair. Again, this car is a roller, no motor, no transmission, and a "not original" 10 bolt rear. I do not have the bucket seats nor the console. The car comes with both fenders and the SS hood. The SS hood has significant surface rust which I do not know can be saved, and the fenders also have rust along the bottoms. The car also comes with many extra parts, including glass, regulators, dash, gauge cluster, SS steering column, and the back seat. I have the title to the car that matches the VIN on the door post.
The car is disassembled, but it is, in my opinion, a good project car. Further, the final car is one of the best color combinations for the 1967 Chevelle. If you have any questions, please call 708-772-7843.

2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment
Thu, 07 Nov 2013That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.
Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
