This auction is for a 1967 Chevelle Malibu Convertible. The car was in storage for quite some time and poor storage at best. Even though it was inside storage, moisture had got to it also so plan on a complete restoration. It appears at one time someone had replaced the front fenders with real nice ones and also installed new rear quarters. Looks like they were trying to clone the car out to be a super sport. When we recieved the car, it was a mixture of replaced parts, some bare metal and various places primed. So we sanded the whole car down, repaired a couple of small spots on the doors and trunk lid and primed the whole car out. The over all outer body shell is acutally pretty decent. It does need floor pans and a trunk pan. Those are rusted out. Rockers are good and solid, inner wheel tubs look fine. Convertible top bows are decent. Top pistons and lines are intact but power motor is missing. The frame on the car is good and solid with typical surface rust that can be blasted clean. I did notice someone used a hard top transmission cross member which is obviously longer than a convertible one. They torched an area out of each side of the frame to install the cross member. Man I have seen some screw ups before but this takes the cake! You can weld in the area where they cut it out as it is in the flat spot and find a correct cross member to reinstall properly. The motor in the car is a rebuilt 1967 396  but is now stuck from sitting. Would have to come apart and be gone though again. Casting number is #3902406. Transmission is a Turbo 400. We do have the drive shaft also. 10 Bolt Single Trac rear. The car was a power steering, power brake car but power steering pump is missing. As you can see the interior needs to be completely redone. Has buckets, console and floor shift. There are some misc. parts, fuel tank and trim pieces in the trunk. As I mentioned before it is a complete project but is the right year if your looking for one to restore. Sold on a dealer bill of sale. If you need a title in your state we will register the car and give you proper dealer transfer forms with this so you can get a title in your state. If you need more info or pics feel free to call or email us at 207-324-5568 days or 207-432-2862 eves and sundays

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem

Thu, Feb 13 2014

General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed. Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

Sinkhole Opens Up In National Corvette Museum, Swallows Eight Cars

Wed, Feb 12 2014

More cars are being moved inside the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. to avoid falling down the same sinkhole that swallowed eight classic sports cars early this morning, Autoblog reported. Museum officials said the hole was discovered when motion sensors activated around 5:45 a.m. The rescue mission can be viewed on the museum's live feed cameras, which weren't working after the sinkhole emerged. A 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil," both on loan from General Motors, were among the cars that fell into the sinkhole. The museum owned the other affected Corvettes, which included a 1963 Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car and the 1 millionth Corvette ever produced. The state of the cars at the bottom of the hole isn't known, but trial lawyer and sinkhole expert Ted Corless said the cars may be a total loss for the museum and GM. "Most states, including Kentucky, exclude damage caused by sinkhole activity," he said. "There will be, in all likelihood, a claim made, but a lot of policies would specifically exclude these kinds of damages." Corless has 15 years experience dealing with sinkholes. He said that typically neither the building, nor the cars themselves are protected under their insurance policies. "I would have to say, more likely then not, they're going to have an uninsured loss measured in the hundreds of thousands of dollars." The museum is closed Wednesday while a structural engineer assesses the damage.
