1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute. 2-Year Restoration was completed in December 2008 SS-427 Badges. It has a Plum Exterior (rated about a 8 or9) and a Custom Leather Interior. Body is Laser Straight and almost all the Trim was replaced, if not all. It includes the following and then some, too much to list. Fresh ZZ502/502 Aluminum Head Motor, Has a Fresh (10 miles) T-10 B&W 4-speed Transmission, Rebuilt New Complete GM 12-Bolt, 3.73 Posi-Locker Rear-end including New Axles Components. Everything under the hood is New, High Polished Radiator, PS Pump and Remote Polish Resevoir, 16” High Polished Push Fan, Long Tube Hedman Headers, New Under-carriage Parts, Rear Control Arms, Wheel Bearings, Hoses, Belts, etc. New Rally Wheels with T/A Radials, Thousands spent on New Leather Interior, Carpet and Custom Dash with Auto-Meter Gauges. The Entire Interior is New. Seats with 502 Embroidered, Carpet, Headliner, Molded 502 Door Panels, Kick-Panels, Rear Head Panels and Custom Leather 502 Embroidered Rear Deck and Trunk Side Panels. Remote Kenwood CD System with Receiver/Player in Glove Box and Amp in Trunk. And the list goes on. Thousands were spent in the build and done right. PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
Next Chevrolet Malibu to have 'groundbreaking,' 'passionate' design
Mon, Dec 29 2014In our First Drive of the Chevrolet Malibu after its redesign in 2013 we wrote, "Chevy has quickly worked up a host of changes for its ever-important midsize sedan, and will be launching this 'there, we fixed it' 2014 Malibu like it's an all-new product." Still, no one cared. The Malibu has been mentioned in eight posts this year, all but two of them dealt with recalls, and one of those two was about a 2011 Malibu university science project. It came up in precisely zero posts from November 2013 to March 2014. That's why, according to a report in Automotive News, Chevrolet honchos are "hustling" to have a new Malibu ready in a year. Mark Reuss, General Motors' head of global product development, said it will have "groundbreaking design" and "groundbreaking technology," and asked investors who were showed a picture of it, "When is the last time you saw a [midsize] car this distinctive and this dramatic from General Motors?" Doubling down on the bullishness, Reuss said, "We've got our act together here on the midsize-car segment." Then, throwing every last chip on the pile, global design head Ed Welburn said the next Malibu's design will "make a significant statement" with "a very passionate design." Based on the number of comments Malibu posts get, we figure a fair few number of you would love for this to be the case; yet this is a lot of braggadocio to slather on a car that probably hasn't made "a significant statement" since Elton John had a number one record with Honky Chateau. That was 1972, if you're trying to remember. No matter the looks, the AN report says the new 'Bu will make a profit statement, selling for more money while costing less to produce. Alongside the Cruze, GM figures the pair will bring in an extra $800 million in variable profit in 2016. Which, in case it ends up being another 'butterface,' isn't bad for a silver lining.
