RESERVE-I have placed a reserve on this auction that is just  under the buy it now price.  This is so I can run a no reserve auction and keep the buy it now button until the end.  If you are the top bidder and no one hits the bin button you will have the option of buying the car for the final bid. I will honor this price at the end of the auction.

BODY- the body is what I would call a good solid project.  As you can see from the pics the floors and trunk are solid but with some rust.  The floors are better than the trunk.  I think a trunk pan is in order and the floor repaired.  The rockers are in good shape. Both door open and shut well.  A quick walk around the car shows the hood to be brand new. The drivers fender is junk. Both doors to be good.  Both quarters need replaced.  The outer wheel wells are better than you would think but I would hate to put new quarters on old outers.  Trunk pan has some holes. Deck lid has a dent.  It looks good around both windows and the cowl area. Roof panel is good as well as the passenger fender.  Overall the body is in better shape than you first impression. The door gaps are good also. Also looks to have all the exterior chrome in decent shape.

DRIVETRAIN- The engine included with the car is a 454 in a 78 3/4 pickup.  It is complete pan to carb fan to flexplate.  It starts right up and holds a good idle with no smoke or knocks. It is however a high mileage motor. I would recommend a rebuild.  My friend is going to take it out some time during the next week. If he has not done so you may hear it run.   The trans is in the car just as I got it. Its a Muncie 4 speed with a 621 bellhousing. Hurst inline shifter attached. (shifter hole butchered for install) The rear end is a 12 bolt posi that someone has welded on ladder bar mounts. They will need cut off.

INTERIOR-Original bucket seats and rear seat need to be recovered. Dash is taken apart and there is several dash parts included-glove box door-heater controls- 2 speedos- ect.  Door panels are in poor shape. The steering column is taken apart. The big block rag joint is included- see pic.

FRAME- The frame looks good except where some one took out two pieces about 2X4 on the bottom to install a roll cage, (i'm guessing).

New parts included are Hood, grill, one outer wheel house and 1 chrome wheel well molding.

What is this car worth?  If a real nice 67 SS will bring 35K pretty easy. And the same condition  67 SS clone brings 25KIf you were to spent 10k to buy this car its kinda like getting if free when you sell it for an additional 10k over a clone.  However I am setting the buy it now price at $8900

The buy it now price includes free delivery with in 250 miles of my home.   NOTE- please read -I currently do not have a title for the car its been sitting for a very long time and it was lost. I will apply for a title it will take me about 3 to 4 weeks to get one and about $300 dollars to do so.  Some states are much easier to get one, Indiana is not.   You may wait to pay for the car after title is in hand or you may deduct $400 if you want to get your own.  I will however require a down payment to hold the car.  I will supply you with paperwork form the local sheriffs dept stating the car is not stolen and clear.

Deductions in price you have the option to take.
----do not take engine with car and deduct $500
----Get your own title you may deduct $400
----With buy it now price pick up car at my home deduct $250

Please feel free to call me 765 206 0350
Car comes with a personal guarantee- If you inspect the car at my home within 7 days of auction end and you dont like it for any reason you are not required to purchase the car but the deposit is forfeited. However once the car leaves my home  in route to your location the car has no warantee of any kind. Sold as is.

Chevy teases next-gen Volt at fan event in LA

Thu, Nov 20 2014

Barely two months before its planned debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, Chevrolet has released yet another batch of teaser images of its second-generation Volt. Unlike the first image, though, which just showed the car's rear badge, there's a lot more to this quartet of shots. The first three images show off the nose of the next-gen model and come from a fan event in Los Angeles. What we can see is a sleeker front end, with an evolution of the silver grille inserts previously seen on the original Volt and Spark EV. Gone is the current car's split upper grille, in favor of a more conventional arrangement. The sharper, more angular headlights are also an evolution of the lamps seen on the current Volt. Chevrolet also took the opportunity to announce a new location-based charging system that uses GPS to adjust the vehicle's charge settings, including the charge level, while also announcing that the next-gen car will feature more intuitive charge indicators that will be better able to inform owners of their car's charging level. The tech will mean that the Volt 'knows' when it is parked at home, and can thus automatically optimize charging for off-peak times, and so on. Take a look at the teaser images at the top of the page, and then head below for Chevy's press release announcing the new features. Next-Gen Chevy Volt Offers More User-Friendly Charging 2014-11-20 GPS makes charging more convenient Portable charger is easier to access Intuitive visual cues show charge status DETROIT – If there's one thing Chevrolet Volt owners love about their cars, it's being able to recharge the battery easily. Evidence of that is a U.S. Department of Energy study that shows more than 80 percent of all trips by Volt owners did not use the range extender. Chevrolet has made the charging system in the next-generation Volt even easier for customers to recharge the battery – and to check the charge status. The next-generation Volt debuts in January at the North American International Auto Show. "Chevrolet used the real-world experiences of today's Volt owners to make the charging process simpler and more convenient in the next-generation Volt," said Andrew Farah, chief engineer for the Volt.

Nissan Leaf sets new November sales record, Chevy Volt drops again

Tue, Dec 2 2014

When you talk to people in the plug-in vehicle industry, one theme you hear repeatedly is that the more plug-in cars that are out there, the better things are for everyone. One reason is that more EVs build a need for more public chargers, and more chargers mean more people see that plugging in is feasible. But there's still something to be said for old-fashioned competition, and in the sales race between the two long-running plug-in vehicles in the US, the Nissan Leaf is resoundingly beating the Chevy Volt for 2014. In fact, it won't be long before the EV's cumulative sales top the PHEV's. But that's a topic for another month. For now, we have the sales results from November. Unsurprisingly, Nissan set another monthly record (that is, the best Leaf sales in any November, the 22nd time in a row we've seen a monthly record) with 2,687 sales last month. That's up 34 percent over last November and up 35 percent year-to-date. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of electric vehicle marketing, said in a statement that, "Our 'Kick Gas' ad campaign and 'No Charge to Charge' launch in Chicago and Atlanta drove an increase in November Leaf sales. Even with gas prices falling across the country, consumers appreciate that the cost of driving a Nissan Leaf is still a fraction of that of a gas-powered car." Over on the Chevy side of the ledger, there were 1,336 Volt sales last month, down 30.4 percent from the 1,920 sold in November 2013. So far this year, Volt sales are down 16.4 percent and Chevy has sold 17,315 Volts in 2014. As we said last month, the Volt slump might be due to people waiting on the new version to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show next month before going on sale in the second half of 2015. So far in 2014, Nissan has sold 27,098 Leafs. Look for our detailed post of US green car sales in the near future. Until then, please discuss last month's Leaf and Volt sale in the comments, below. Anti-purist 1963 Ferrari GTE sports hot rod Chevy V8

Thu, Oct 8 2015

I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari. Check out Road Heads' interview with this custom GTE's owner, which is followed by a brief test drive. And of course, head into Comments afterwards, and let us know what you think. Is this Yankee-powered 250 GTE blasphemous or badass?
