Here is a rare 1967 Chevelle. It was a California black plate car until about 2008. It is rare to find a 46 year old car that has it's original floors, rocker panels, quarter panels, trunk floor, fenders, doors and a rust free underside with a "painted" frame, not layered with undercoat. It has a correct dated 327-350hp engine. It is an automatic, with an open 12 bolt rear, and disc brakes. It has factory buckets and console, with a black houndstooth interior, The interior is in near mint condition, with new door seals and door panels. It has an aftermarket SS hood, but also comes with the original flat hood. It is a very nice driver, with a lot of get up and go!!! It is a very straight car. If you want to make a "138" / SS clone, I have a fresh 1969 427ci #3955270 with 1966 corvette heads, oval port closed chamber, that can be bought with the car ($3800) or separately. The car is not perfect, but in very nice original condition and a great daily driver.  (nothing hacked, or cut up. The interior appears to possibly be original.)
Please ask any and all questions before you bid. Feel free to have someone come and inspect it. The car is sold as is where is and how is..... with a 46 year old car anything can happen...The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early for a local sale. No trades...  Thanks for looking. Merry Christmas! God Bless our troops.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
