Here is my 66 real deal Super Sport. I bought this car about 15 yrs ago and stored it until restoration time 8yrs ago. The car was made in Fremont California and was ordered with several options that most Super Sports do not have. During the restoration we determined that it was originally equipped with a black vinyl top and automatic. The change to a 4spd was done exceptionally well, with correct tunnel support, pedals, linkage, clips etc. Other changes that were observed was a left rear quarter panel and drivers door replacement on the body, again done with professional results even down to the spot welds. It appears that it was hit early on in its life as the car has zero rust with super sano floors and trunk . I also believe it to be have very low miles on it due to the condition of the A-Arm bushings, body mounts and other items that were removed for restoration. I purchased the car with its original A/C equipment, door panels, seats and carpet which I retained for date coding and authenticity. It did not have an engine at purchase, so a 1966 Impala 396 complete engine, carb to pan with matching date codes for production was purchased and completely rebuilt. The purchaser will get all the original items removed. I also have pictures as purchased and during the restoration. The car has A/C,PS,PB, PW,factory bumper guards not replated, factory air shocks original Delco, Headrest seats, and console. The car has been stored in a heated/A/C garage since restoration with break in miles only. Where ever paint markings could be seen they were replicated. It has new:
* exhaust
* full polygraphite A-arm bushings, sway bar, etc.
* new springs, shocks, universal joints, body mounts,
* the car retains its original factory brake lines, gas lines and clips did not restored or replaced.
* Engine, trans, clutch, rear gears 3:70 posi all new or rebuilt to exacting specifications
* All new Sofseal weatherstrips
* New carpet, door panels, headliner, seat covers with original unrestored headrests, headliner with original
sunvisors.
* Replated front and rear bumpers, bumper guards are original, hood scoop chrome is original
*Complete new brakes, including cylinders, lining, springs, clips etc.
The car has been stored for several years, yet has been street driven during its rest with engine and drivetrain to full operating temps on a regular basis. The engine has excellent oil pressure, the heads have hardened seats, starts and drives excellent with stock power brakes. I did notice the power windows are a little slow from sitting, radio is not hooked up, has small stereo radio in glove box.Paint was done to replicate factory new in base clear coat so it is not over restored. Vehicle is for sale locally, so I retain the right to remove this listing at anytime. Questions?? Let me know. Thanks for your bid.

GM reintroduces Tripower name in the worst way possible
Wed, Aug 1 2018The story of General Motors' use of the Tripower moniker begins way back in 1957, when Semon E. "Bunkie" Knudsen, then General Manager of GM's Pontiac division, directed his engineers to inject more performance into his brand's line of V8-powered automobiles. Fuel injection was an option, but hot rodders flocked instead to Tri-Power (marketed way back when with a hyphen), which grafted a trio of two-barrel Rochester carburetors onto a single intake manifold. A legend was born. And that legend was born of performance. At idle and when full power wasn't required, Pontiac's Tri-Power system used just the middle carburetor, which helped make the setup easier to tune. Depending on the year and model, either a vacuum system or a mechanical linkage opened up the two outer carbs, thereby switching from two barrels to six, and allowing the engine to take in more fuel and air. And it was an easy marketing win – six barrels is better than four barrels, right? Because performance! So, when news filtered in that GM has resurrected the Tripower name, those of us who grew up attending classic car shows and wrenching on old Pontiacs did a double-take. And then we all collectively sighed. Turns out that today's Tripower refers to a trio of fuel-saving measures that include cylinder deactivation, active thermal management, and intake valve lift control, according to Automotive News. And, at least for now, it applies to GM's line of fullsize trucks powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. We're all for saving fuel whenever possible. And we have zero say in how any automaker chooses to market its products and technologies. But, we'll offer our two cents anyway: Relaunching a storied name from the past is fine. Relaunching a storied name from the past while completely overlooking the reasons the name got famous in the first place is only going to irritate the people who remember the name in the first place. Couldn't they just call this new technology package something else? GM recalls select Chevy Cruze, Sonic and Buick Verano models over airbag issue
Wed, 14 Nov 2012General Motors is recalling certain 2012 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic models due to a defect in the driver's airbag system. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag has a shorting bar which may contact two internal terminals. If that happens during a crash, the supplemental restraint may not deploy, increasing the risk of driver injury. The recall includes a total of 2,949 units.
GM will contact owners and replace the steering wheel airbag coil at no cost. At this point, it's unclear when the recall will begin, though owners may contact the automaker at 1-800-521-7300 for more information. You may also take a closer look at the full NHTSA notice below.
Recharge Wrap-up: Panasonic, Tesla on Gigafactory deal?
Tue, Jul 29 2014Bentley has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for reductions of carbon, water use and waste production in manufacturing. The Carbon Trust is an organization that helps groups such as businesses and governments reduce carbon emissions, use of energy and resources, and waste output. From 2011 to 2013, Bentley reduced CO2 emissions by 16 percent per car manufactured, curtailed water use by 35.7 percent, and saw significant waste reductions. Darran Messem of Carbon trust says, "Bentley is clearly passionate about continuing to improve its environmental performance, which is reflected by the fact the company has consistently invested in new technology." Read more in the press release below. Chevrolet is giving 12 Volts to MBAs Across America. The organization will use the range-extended electric cars in its efforts to help MBA students learn from and work with small business owners. As part of the MBAs Across America program's first year, four students drove 8,000 miles to provide entrepreneurs with free business counseling. The program has expanded, and this year, teams of MBAs will use the Volts to travel to 25 cities to offer their services. Learn more about the partnership between Chevrolet and MBAs Across America in the press release below. A professor from the University of Michigan has found fuel cycle analysis to be too flawed to be relied upon for measuring CO2 impacts of transportation fuels. Professor John DeCicco of the university's Energy Institute feels that the flaws in calculating the carbon footprint of liquid fuel production and combustion make such lifecycle analysis impractical. He suggests, instead, to focus to carbon capture. Since capturing CO2 directly from a vehicle is probably never going to happen, DiCicco believes the solution is to capture carbon from the atmosphere in sectors outside of transportation. Says DiCicco, "Research should be ramped up on options for increasing the rate at which CO2 is removed from the atmosphere and on programs to manage and utilize carbon fixed in the biosphere, which offers the best CO2 removal mechanism now at hand. Such strategies can complement measures that control the demand for liquid fuels by reducing travel activity, improving vehicle efficiency and shifting to non-carbon fuels."
