1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Ss Hardtop 2-door on 2040-cars
Beverly Hills, California, United States
You are looking at a wonderful example of a 65 Chevelle SS. Finished in metallic burgundy with black interior. The car has been fitted with a GM ZZ383 crate motor putting out 425 HP and 449 ft lbs of torque, needless to say its fast. The transmission is a 700R4 with a sequential shifter so you have to option to shift manually and not miss a gear, or put it in automatic mode and let it do everything for you. The rear end is a 12 bolt axle with 4.11 gears, and Hotchkiss suspension upgrades with adjustable shocks. Power disc brakes up front with drums on the rear. Other goodies include a MSD ignition system, serpentine pulley system, jet coasted exhaust headers, and an aluminum radiator to keep things cool. The interior is in excellent condition, seats are nice and firm, Autometer tach and water, volts, and oil pressure gauges have been fitted. Headliner, carpets, upholstery, door panels, are excellent and a battery tender is fitted into the trunk. The underside is rust free and in good condition, this was originally a California black plate car, now is titled in Arizona. The paint is very good high quality and its the original colour according to the data tag on the firewall. The tag shows the car was originally a real Super Sport fitted with a 6 cylinder engine from the factory. The car drives really well, very, very fast, suspension is nice and tight, brakes are firm and responsive. Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.

Then they dish on the cars they've been driving, including the Lexus UX, Lexus GS F and Volvo V90, as well as riding in the new Mercedes-Benz GLS. After that, they ask the question, how many AMG cars is too many? Finally they turn to car buying, and suggest potential vehicles for a shopper on Reddit for the "Spend My Money" segment. 1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28
Mon, Jan 12 2015Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won.
