This auction is for a 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle SS.  This was purchased new by my father on May 20, 1965. It was purchased at Bob Peck Chevrolet in Arlington Virginia.

I have the original title and paperwork to verify this. The title is still in my father's name so the purchaser will be the true 2nd owner of this Chevelle.

This car came new with a 283 4 barrel (I believe), it had the bucket seat and the floor shifted Powerglide automatic transmission.  There was no A/C.

It had the following options on it when purchased:

Powerglide Transmission - $199.10

Radio - $58.65

C & C Group - $30.15 (I do not know what that is)

Undercoating - $30.00

Rear Speaker - $14.35

Power Steering - $86.10

White Wall Tires - $31.90

The car had a restoration started on it in the mid 1990's.  Then time / money / life / ect,  got in the way and it has been sitting in a garage for many, many years.  Now it time for it to get a new owner, that will finish it and enjoy it.

This car is not drivable in its current condition,  All the parts were stripped off, down to the bare frame.  The frame had 1 small rust spot fixed (front driver's side), and was primed and painted black.  The body was put back on the frame using energy suspension polyurethane body mounts and new bolts. The body had the driver's floor replaced, the driver's and the center floor pan brace replaced. A complete trunk floor was replaced.  2 rear 1/4 skins were replaced. (all parts from Year One).  The body was put back on the frame.  The rear suspension has the original 10 bolt axle, New coil springs, the factory upper control arms had polyurethane bushings inserted, the lower control arms were replaced with factory boxed arms with polyurethane bushings and a factory sway bar.  Then factory cross member brackets from a big block car were added (rear crossmember  reinforcements).  There is no front suspension bolted in the car.

The rest of the car need to be assembled. To the best of my knowledge the following is ready for the car:

Front upper and lower control arms have polyurethane bushings in them,  There is a full length fuel and brake lines that are stainless steel. New coil springs for the front, new ball joints, new idler arm. Lots of different nuts, bolt and various hardware.  The original 14" wheels are included, along with 4 15" wheels from a 80's / 90's?? model Camaro along with a Power front disc conversion kit from Original Parts Group.

The original 283 motor is long gone, replaced a long time ago.  The 350 crate motor was in the car, along with what I think is a 327 from a Corvette, the other motor came out of a 1962 Corvette and was running at the time but was not the original motor for that car. It might need a rebuild or might still be fine.

As you can see by the pictures there are boxes and boxes of parts. All the glass is original (I'm pretty sure) except the windshield that was replaced and the replacement was broken so there is no windshield now.

The seats had been redone once so the original covers are not on them. They will need to be redone again.

There are lots of new parts that have been installed or are waiting to be installed.

I have reciepts totaling about $3,200.00 for the parts.

A Library of 38 pictures can be found here:     http://s204.photobucket.com/user/gocntry/library/65%20Chevelle?sort=4&page=1

Reserve is set Under $4750.00

Any questions feel free to ask and I will answer as best I can. I can also take more pictures if requested.

A $1000.00 deposit by PayPal will be due within 72 Hours of a winning bid on this auction.  The rest of the winning bid amount shall be paid CASH in person before car is released.

Winning buyer will have 30 days from auction end to remove vehicle and all parts from the premises.

The car is moveable with a cart I have under the front end.  I will help to load any parts and the vehicle, but bringing a buddy is recommended.

There is a concrete driveway to the vehicle, but there is a 7 1/2' clearance to get there.  We can work around that, just a lot of pushing (on concrete).

I do have an engine crane available to lift the engines,  but 1 engine is on a dolly, the other on a stand and both can go with the engines.

Thanks for Looking at my auction.

Good Luck to the winning bidder.

CA Chevy dealer allegedly adds $50K 'market value adjustment' to 2015 Z06

Fri, Jan 9 2015

It seems to happen with every eagerly anticipated new car – dealerships, recognizing that crushing demand far outstrips the initial limited supply of a new model, inflate the price via a so-called "market value adjustment." We've seen it in the past with a number of new models, and now it's happening again with one of the Detroit 3's hottest vehicles. A dealership in Roseville, CA, outside of Sacramento, has allegedly attached a staggering $49,995 market value adjustment to a 2015 Corvette Z06. We say allegedly because, despite the evidence uncovered by BoostAddict, John L. Sullivan Chevy's online inventory listing doesn't display the price premium of the Z06 in question, a (normally) $93,965 model with the top-end 3LZ trim. It's unclear if either of the dealer's other Z06s, both 3LZs, one of which is in transit, will receive similar price adjustments. Now, legally, Sullivan Chevy isn't doing anything wrong here. Dealerships are under no obligation to observe a manufacturer's suggested retail price, a point General Motors' spokesperson Ryndee Carney pointed out to Autoblog via email. "For the Corvette Z06, Chevrolet has established a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price we feel is right for the market. Actual transaction prices, however, are the province of the dealer," Carney said, adding that a dealer zone manager will be discussing the price hike with the dealership. While we also reached out to the dealership over both the market value adjustment and the price of the Z06 as it appears on the company's website, we've yet to hear back as of this writing. Should they reply to our inquiries, we'll be sure to update you. Until then, we'd like to hear what you think about this case. Is Sullivan Chevy simply pricing the cars as high as it thinks the market can bear, or is this a cash grab for an hotly anticipated product? Have your say in Comments.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks

Fri, Aug 1 2014

If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.
