Up until two weeks ago when I bought an SUV, this was my daily driver for 4 YEARS. I no longer need it, so it's your chance to own it! You are bidding on a solid, smooth running and driving car that you can depend on. Originally purchased in 2009, it has been very well maintained. We installed the replacement engine ourselves in 2010. Nothing was overlooked, and the job was done right the first time. The transmission was replaced with a remanufactured (better than rebuilt) unit the same year. There is over $2,500 invested in the engine and transmission replacement alone. Not to mention 100% NEW AIR CONDITIONING *EVERYTHING* was replaced ($1,200 in A/C parts alone). Condenser, evaporator, orifice tube, accumulator/drier, all seals, NOS Harrison compressor charged with R-134a and properly lubricated with PAG oil, blower motor resistor, mode door vacuum switch, and more) All shocks were replaced, including rear adjustable air suspension.
5.7L 350 Fuel-injected V8 - 4L60 (700R4) Automatic Transmission - ABS brakes - Factory specs (200+ horsepower, 300+ ft-lbs torque, 3.23 rear axle ratio)
20,000 miles on new transmission. (Installed 2010)
80,000 miles on engine. (Installed 2010) This engine came from an all original 1990 Chevy Suburban V2500 with 60,000 original miles. I was able to hear it run before buying it from the owner. He just got back from a cross-country trip from California to Pennsylvania with THIS TRUCK and was embarking on a major project to convert it to diesel power. He had a 6.2L Diesel at the ready to install after he took this engine out. I cannot stress enough that this is an excellent motor. It runs very smooth, quiet, and moves this wagon around with ease. For those of you not familiar with these engines, they came in 2 bolt and 4 bolt main bearing versions. Being a truck motor, this is the heavy duty, 4 bolt main. In short, it's the upgraded version.
Good tires! Matching set of Goodyear Wrangler SR-A's with a nice amount of tread left! (Purchased and installed in 2011)
Completely up to date on all maintenance, including these recent upgrades:
Alternator (2013), power steering pump (2010), water pump (2010), radiator (2010), fan clutch (2012).
Fresh tune-up! Oxygen sensor, throttle position sensor, 8mm wires, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, PCV valve, idle speed and timing verified at specification. (2013)
Preventative maintenance done Fall 2010. I stress PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE because this engine ran perfectly to begin with, but I felt more comfortable investing a little extra time to replace these crucial internal components while the engine was accessible on a stand instead of waiting for the inevitable when it's in the vehicle. This is what I mean by "Done right the first time." New motor mounts, new transmission mount, Intake manifold gasket set, Throttle body gasket set, Valve cover gaskets, Oil Pan gasket, Timing Cover gaskets, Melling High Volume oil pump w/ new sump and screen, New timing set (chain, cam gear, and crank gear), thermostat and lifetime gasket, oil pressure switch, vacuum hoses, etc.
100% NEW AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM as of Summer 2012 (this alone costed $1,200.00)
New front end work all done as of April 2013 (Brakes, calipers, rotors, wheel bearings, seals, idler arm, and alignment)
New front sway bar bushings and end link assemblies, LF ABS brake sensor. (Summer 2011)
All new shocks, rear brakes, new parking brake cables. (Summer 2012)
New fuel pump and sending unit (Fall 2012).
Over $6,000 invested. This car is absolutely worth the money. It was used as my daily driver for the past 4 years, and I am selling since I purchased an SUV a few weeks ago. I no longer need this car and can certainly use the money it will bring. In turn, you will get a practically turn-key Caprice wagon that needs no major repairs. Of course, it's not a brand new car and it's always going to need a few little things here and there along with regular maintenance.
- For example, I removed a small section of carpeting on the front passenger's side when my old heater core sprung a leak. The antifreeze soaked the carpet underneath and there was no way to get it completely clean. So, the best thing to do was to quickly remove the section in order to stop it from wicking throughout the entire carpet. I have a large, heavy rubber mat that fits in place of the missing carpet.
- The radio works, but the cassette player does not.
- Dash pad has two hairline cracks in it that just developed over this past winter. (I've heard it's a common issue with these)
- Custom exhaust work was done in Spring 2011 for a true dual setup. The left (driver's) side recently developed a slight exhaust leak.
That's it! If you're looking for a brand new car, you've come to the wrong place. This isn't a brand new car, but then again, there hasn't been a brand new Chevy Caprice wagon since 1996! An overwhelming majority of these wagons have been beat into the ground, neglected, and driven until they wind up rusting out in someone's backyard or the junkyard. THIS IS NOT A RUSTBUCKET. IT IS THE REAL DEAL. EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED.
This is the closest you're going to come to buying one of these wagons that runs and drives well, extra clean, has all the major work ALREADY DONE, and LEAST LIKELY TO GIVE YOU ANY PROBLEMS FOR A VERY LONG TIME, SO LONG AS YOU KEEP UP ON THE MAINTENANCE. A new transmission, original replacement GM engine, 100% new A/C, along with the above description are key attributes that SET THIS WAGON APART FROM THE REST OF THEM. Don't let the original odometer reading of 210,000 miles discourage you. This wagon is in better condition than any of your average Roadmaster, Caprice, or Custom Cruiser models, LT-1 or not, with half the amount of miles on them as compared to mine!
I repeat, this is a private sale and you'll be dealing directly with me the entire time. I'm not a dealer, selling this car for someone else, or anything of that sort at all. I stand behind each and every word, picture, and term of this sale with full intentions to sell to the highest bidder. I HAVE THE CLEAR, PA TITLE IN MY HANDS. Car will not be released and Ownership will not be transferred until the balance is paid in full and clears my account. If you intend to have this car shipped to you, please notify your desired shipping company of my ZIP code (19116) for the best estimate possible. You can also fly in and drive it home. If you plan on having it towed, it must be done using a flatbed tow truck. These cars are too large and too heavy (4,500 lbs.) to risk using any other system except a flat bed. You are responsible for all shipping, title, registration, insurance, and any other expenses incurred with the sale.
I will be available to answer any questions you have during the auction. If you are unsure of ANYTHING, please call me before bidding. Per eBay policy, your bid enters you into a legally binding agreement with eBay, me, and you. A winning bidder who does not agree to carry out their part of the transaction forfeits their deposit in full. See payment instructions for deposit timeframe and other information.
Call me for specific questions. 484-483-3310
Transaction to be completed in cash, in person. If that is not possible, you may only send a bank check from a major U.S. bank. If you bring a check, you will not get the car released in your name unless the funds clear my bank. Deposit must be submitted as soon as possible after auction ends. Buyer responsible for all shipping and pick-up arrangements.

Pony-car sales war: Mustang vs. Camaro vs. Challenger [UPDATE]
Fri, Jul 3 2015Update: An earlier version of this story misstated the 2015 Mustang's weight when compared with previous models. Additionally, we have added comments from Chevrolet in the text. The Ford Mustang has blown past the Chevy Camaro as America's best-selling pony car, and in June, it wasn't even close. The 'Stang outsold the Camaro 11,719 to 8,611 cars. The Camaro remained ahead of the Dodge Challenger, which sold 6,845 units. Even though the Camaro did post an 11.5-percent sales improvement in June, the competition is arguably stronger than at anytime since the 1970s muscle-car era. The Mustang's sales leapt a whopping 53.6 percent, while the Challenger saw a gain of 56 percent. Several factors are weighing down Camaro sales, including its lame duck status. Chevy is launching a new generation of the Camaro this year that's more than 200 pounds lighter, offers a new turbo four-cylinder engine option, and has a nicer interior than the outgoing model. Put simply: wait a few months and you can get a better car. It's also unlikely Chevy will jack up the price much, as it's historically kept the Camaro within reach of everyday enthusiasts. While Chevy fans wait in anticipation for their new sports car, Ford and Dodge have downshifted. The new Mustang, which went on sale last year, is faster and more sophisticated than its predecessor. It also offers a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which Ford has credited for the Mustang's recent uptick and makes up 36 percent of the car's sales, Ford analyst Erich Merkle said. View 17 Photos June's performance allowed the Mustang to widen its sales gap with the Camaro this year. Through the first five months, Ford sold 68,290 Mustangs, a 54.4-percent increased compared with 2014. Chevy sold 42,593 Camaros, an 8.7-percent decrease. The Challenger – long the No. 3 pony car in sales volume – has seen its sales surge 41 percent this year to 37,011 units. Spokesman Monte Doran said Chevy expected that 2015 would be a "relatively soft year" for the Camaro. "Mustang is taking advantage of years' worth of pent-up demand for an independent rear suspension," he said. "When Camaro introduced an IRS, in 2009, it helped make us the best-selling performance car in America.
GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'
Mon, Mar 17 2014As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.
C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey
Mon, 25 Feb 2013If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
