Gorgeous Unrestored 1975 Chevy Caprice Classic on 2040-cars
West Springfield, Massachusetts, United States
Offered from my collection is a beautiful unrestored 1975 Chevy Caprice Classic convertible with its original 454 cubic inch engine in the color combination of red exterior, white interior and white convertible top which turns heads everywhere. Only 8360 of these vehicles were manufactured and of those, GM estimates only 700 were equipped with the top of the line 454 engine. The car runs excellent and floats down the road. Does not burn a drop of oil. For a 40+ year old convertible it is nice and tight without all the annoying squeaks and rattles normally found in drop tops. The car is fully loaded with power steering, power brakes, power window’s, power door locks, air- conditioning, tilt wheel, power trunk release and lots more (See pic). The exhaust is new, the undercarriage is as clean as the rest of the vehicle and the tires have less than a thousand (1000) miles on them. New hood insulation. The interior is original and in outstanding condition. The seats do not have a spot on them and there are no rips or tears. All of the gauges, badges, knobs and buttons are original and everything works except the cruise control. The carpet and dash pad cover are new. The top is power with a glass window and works perfectly with no leaks whatsoever. The car is nice and straight, there are no dings, no dents and no bondo. The paint has been touched up where needed but there is still plenty of original paint on it. The bumpers are the originals and along with the rest of the exterior chrome are in excellent condition…no pitting and no rust. The chrome side mirrors are also in great shape with only minor pitting. This vehicle is an outstanding example of this, the last of the full size convertibles and I would have to believe it is one of the nicest unrestored examples around. You can drive it right now to a show and win a trophy without spending a dime on it. A $500 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED WITHIN 48 HOURS AND PAYMENT IN FULL WITHIN 7 DAYS. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO BEING ADVERTISED LOCALLY AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY. |

Hot air balloons caught in high winds drag fullsize SUV
Mon, Jul 20 2015A sudden storm front whipped up enough wind to send some hot air balloons flying into the air in Wisconsin over the weekend. One ballon proved so energetic that it was able to drag a fullsize SUV across a field and into a stand of tents. The freak accident occurred at Balloonfest in Waterford, Wisconsin. Spectators were horrified as balloons dragged handlers to the ground and launched with terrified pilots clinging to their baskets. Organizers had started packing up the colorful balloons due to ominous storm clouds when the wind kicked up. "Happened just like that; it was crazy," Nathan Fricke, crew member, told Fox 6. Winds were clocked at 40 to 50 miles per hour. A balloon caught in the wind dragged a large SUV (we think a Suburban or Yukon XL) hundreds of feet and into a cluster of tents on the edge of the staging area where balloons were on display for festival goers. Considering that the SUV surely weighs well over 5,000 pounds, it's lucky that no one was injured in the incident. News Source: Fox6Now Weird Car News Chevrolet GM GMC SUV
GM slashes prices in China as sales falter
Thu, May 14 2015Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
