Rare Opportunity............................LOW RESERVE

Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer this Barn Fresh, Original, and Unrestored 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic convertible. We were Lucky enough to acquire this Low Mileage Survivor from the long term lady owner and her husband, along with a few other choice Beauties. Looking at the back of the Pa. inspection sticker, and the lube sticker on the windshield(photos below), they had it serviced after the 2005 driving season, put it in the barn(actually it was a pole building that stored tractors and lawn equipment, along with three other cars), and covered it up like usual. Well, they must have gotten busy, and time just flew by!! Fast forward to a few months ago, and we purchased the cars because they "needed the room".

The nice lady purchased it from the first retail owner way back in 1989. Looking at the original books that we have, It appears that a dealer in Florida kept it for a while, and then sold it to the people that our dear lady bought it from. I have Pa registration cards dating back to 1988, so it's anyone's guess when it came to Pennsylvania.

This Gorgeous Caprice Classic is almost totally original outside, with zero rust or any signs of repair. There may have been some minor paint touch up over the years, but the paint meter reads pretty consistent of 2.5-3.5 mls all around the car with the exception of the left door, which reads 4.5 mls. Seems mostly original to me. The body is nice and straight with no signs of damage, or accidents. The chrome and brightwork are just Gorgeous as well, with no pitting or damage noticed. The White convertible top also looks original, with no damage or even shrinkage. It works as it should with ease. As noted in the photos, the boot is a bit shrunk, and may stretch out with some sun, and usage.

The white vinyl interior is also totally original with exception of the carpets. The originals were badly worn and faded, so we replaced them to freshen it up inside. It now looks fantastic!!!  All power accessories are functioning normally including the sound system, and the 4 power windows. The rears should be disassembled and adjusted, as they are a bit wobbly on the way down. Climate control is working, but A/C is not icey cold. We will attempt a Recharge during auctions course.

This was an easy one to "Wake Up" after it's 8 year slumber. We checked the fluid levels, installed a fresh Interstate battery, poured a bit of gas in the carb, and it fired right up. A short drive to the local filling station, and ten gallons of fresh fuel, this car now runs and drives perfect. I have driven it personally about 100 miles or so, with no noted issues. The more that I drive it, the better it runs!! Front brakes pulsate a little bit, but should clean up after more driving. Worst case is a fresh pair of rotors!! We did a fresh oil change, just because it had been several years standing, and a VERY time consuming detail on the exterior to bring the Medium Red paint back to it's former Glory.

Unrestored examples like this one are unheard of! Most have over 200 Thousand miles by now, and are either worn out, and extremely ratty, or are made over rust buckets!! Values are Rapidly rising, and this is sure to be a sound investment with a LOT of fun attached!! Remember....they are Original ONLY ONCE!!!!

Please keep in mind that this is an almost FORTY year old unrestored, original car. It is not perfect, or a restored trailer queen. There are a few blemishes, nicks etc. here and there. Nothing major, but it is NOT perfect!!! We have a clean Pennsylvania title in the dealership's name.

Take a look at the 40+ photographs below and see the actual condition of this One of A Kind Caprice Classic Convertible.

By bidding you agree to all terms set forth below.

GM, Pilot will build EVgo fast chargers at 500 truck stops across U.S.

Thu, Jul 14 2022

All of our maps showing electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. are going to need an update. Today, General Motors, Pilot and EVgo announced plans to work together on a nationwide DC fast charging network. The plan calls for 2,000 charging stalls that can deliver up to 350 kW to be installed at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers in the U.S. The goal is to have DC fast chargers available in 50-mile intervals across the country. The new charging stations will feature GM's "Ultium Charge 360" branding and "Pilot Flying J" logos but will not be limited to drivers of GM EVs. The plugs will use CCS connectors and be available to anyone. GM EV owners can take advantage of benefits, including the ability to make exclusive reservations, get discounts on charging costs and streamline the charging process with Plug and Charge and in-vehicle apps that can provide real-time charger availability. The first installation phase will take place in 2023, and "the bulk of the installations" should be completed by 2025, EVgo CEO Kathy Zoi said during a conference call with reporters announcing the plan. "We're gonna get going immediately and commence all of that engineering and planning stuff," she said. "We've got a pretty orderly plan." Pilot CEO Shameek Konar said the company expects the new EV charging stations to coexist with the current fuel infrastructure. "An average Pilot Flying J location is about 10 acres," Konar said. "This will be in addition to all of our gas pumps. The way I think about it is, this is a new source of energy that is going to coexist with gas for quite some time. We can debate how long, but we need to serve both groups of customers." Installing DC fast chargers at hundreds of Pilot's travel centers — aka truck stops — means there should be food, drinks, restrooms, WiFi and even showers available while you wait for an EV to charge. Pilot recently announced its “New Horizons” plan that will invest $1 billion in upgrading Pilot travel centers with more premium amenities, including expanded seating and lounge areas. While the exact amount of time it will take to charge an EV using these new stations will vary on the EV and its current state of charge, most EVs can refill from a low state of charge to around 80 percent in 20-30 minutes on a fast charger. The new stations are future-proofed to deliver up to 350 kW, a charge rate that few EVs today can handle.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.

GMC Hummer EV SUV first drive, RIP Camaro, Ferrari Roma Spider | Autoblog Podcast # 773

Fri, Mar 24 2023

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by News Editor Joel Stocksdale. They start off with one of the week's biggest official news items — the impending death of the sixth-gen Chevrolet Camaro. On the subject of powerful American cars, they pivot to a teaser from Stellantis execs that there are big things ahead for its Dodge Charger SRT Daytona Banshee concept. From there, they look at Ferrari's new topless Roma and then get into Ford's multi-billion-dollar electric vehicle pivot. Speaking of expensive EVs, Joel just got back from driving the new GMC Hummer SUV. He also had the new F-150 Lightning Pro in his driveway, and that's followed by Greg's update on Autoblog's long-term Toyota Sienna.  Autoblog Podcast # 773 Get The Podcast Apple Podcasts – Subscribe to the Autoblog Podcast in iTunes Spotify – Subscribe to the Autoblog Podcast on Spotify RSS – Add the Autoblog Podcast feed to your RSS aggregator MP3 – Download the MP3 directly Rundown News Chevrolet Camaro production will officially end after 2024 model year Dodge CEO teases more to come from Charger SRT Daytona Banshee Ferrari Roma Spider returns a front-engined soft top to the lineup Ford Model e losing billions as it says EV unit should be seen as startup What we're driving Ford F-150 Lightning Pro 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV 2023 Toyota Sienna Platinum AWD Feedback Email – Podcast@Autoblog.com Review the show on Apple Podcasts Autoblog is now live on your smart speakers and voice assistants with the audio Autoblog Daily Digest.
