Up for grabs is a true American classic—a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice Classic in Excellent Condition. This vehicle comes equipped with a potent 5.7 liter engine, a heavy duty suspension, and a heavy duty cooling system (police package). Being an 18-year old vehicle, it has some light scratches and some small dents, but nothing major. The overall physical condition of this vehicle is excellent, both inside and out: 9 out of 10 for the exterior (the paint is original, glossy and shiny), and 9 out 10 for the interior with plush burgundy leather (no tears or rips). The tires have 50 percent tread left, and all factory alloy wheels have very little to no curb-rash. This vehicle has 39,000 original miles, and everything is factory-original and unmolested. This vehicle is rust-free and has never left Northern California. Preventive maintenance includes: new water pump, new transmission filter and gasket, new oil and filter, new brake fluid, and fresh power steering fluid. In other words, you can be sure there won't be any major problems in the near future. In my honest opinion, this vehicle has both the luxury and power of a BMW or Mercedes Benz, but is much cheaper to maintain. If maintained properly, this car will increase in value over the years, as it has already reached collectible status. The winning bidder should pay $500.00 non-refundable deposit right after the auction ends and the balance must be paid (via bank wire transfer, cash, or PayPal) within seven days of the end of the auction. I reserve the right to end the sale of this car at any time. Please note that the car will be sold as is—there is no warranty. Potential buyers may inspect this vehicle through an independent 3rd party. Pickup of this vehicle or shipping services (in case you are far away or can't pick it up) are the responsibility of the winning bidder. Again I will ONLY accept payment via Cash, Bank Wire Transfer or PayPal. Serious bidders only please. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head
Mon, Dec 29 2014Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.
Recharge Wrap-up: Tesla P85D upgrades coming soon, lease a Chevy Volt for $149 a month
Wed, Dec 31 2014CarCharging has raised $6 million from shareholders and has restructured to save cash. The EV charging company plans to expand further in 2015 - with an eye toward achieving profitability - in part by investing in technology and "unlocking the value of our significant equipment inventory," says CarCharging CEO Michael D. Farkas. The group expects to reduce administrative costs by 40 percent, and has hired an interim Chief Financial Officer to help carry out its plans for growth. CarCharging raised the cash through offering convertible preferred stock to its shareholders, whom Farkas thanked "for their passion and patience." Read more in the press release below. Rydell Chevrolet in Los Angeles is offering Chevrolet Volt leases for $149 per month. In a video ad, Rydell offers the Volt for $169 a month with $3,390 due at signing, but another ad shows the offer at $149 a month with $3,550 down or $248 per month with $0 down. Rydell Chevrolet will ship the car anywhere in the lower 48 states. It also appears they offer cupcakes. See Rydell's video below, or read more at Inside EVs. Tesla will upgrade the Model S P85D with higher performance and top speed. The free update, which is due "in the next few months" according to a statement from Tesla, will raise the electronically limited top speed from 130 to 155 miles per hour. "Additionally, an over-the-air firmware upgrade to the power electronics will improve P85D performance at high speed above what anyone outside Tesla has experienced to date," Tesla says. The update will be available for the lifetime of the car, which includes subsequent owners. Read more at Green Car Reports.
