1995 Chevrolet Caprice Lt1 Police on 2040-cars
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
1995 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 Police Package, with the LT1 motor. This car was purchased from the Orange County, CA Sheriff Department through an auction. This car was refurbished with rebuilt engine, interior, and rear end by Bates Caprice Refurbishing, which was common for California Police Vehicles. This vehicle was not used as a marked patrol car, so there is no holes from cages, lightbars, pushbumpers, etc. I have all of the paperwork from Bates Refurbishing and the old Orange County Sheriff registration paperwork. This is no ordinary Caprice Police Package. The engine has a performance camshaft, 1:6 full roller rockers, Camaro Aluminum Heads, Magna Flow Catalytic Convertors, lower temp thermostat, lower temp pump sensor, Throttle Body coolant bypass, and Borla "Catback" exhaust. The car did not get a Limited Slip Rear end from the factory, but one was later installed. I also have eliminators for the two air baffle boxes but they are not currently installed. This vehicle has not driven regularly for about five years, so it has the common associated problems. It will crank but not run due to low fuel pressure. The interior is fair. There is two large cracks on the dashboard and small crack and holes from the police radio mics. The exterior paint has small dents, dings, and chips. The car was originally white, but was repainted all black and that paint job was not the best. The current tires will need to be replaced, but will hold air for transport. No warranties expressed or implied. This sale is AS IS. I prefer cash or Paypal. If you want to pay by cashiers check I will hold the car until the check has been verified. I will work with you on shipping, but that is on top of whatever the sale price ends up being. |

Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years
Wed, Jun 25 2014A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.

Autoblog Podcast #327:
The Tesla Model S was the best-selling EV of 2015
Thu, Jan 14 2016According to numbers crunched over at Hybrid Cars, the Tesla Model S was the best selling pure electric vehicle last year with 50,366 deliveries. These numbers might not tell the whole story, since Tesla reports deliveries made in 2015 that might have been sold in a different calendar year, while other makers are tallying sales. However, it's inarguable that the Model S ended up in more worldwide driveways than the second-place Nissan Leaf, which did about 43,000 sales. In the US alone, Leaf sales were down 42.8 percent year-on-year, from 30,200 in 2014 to 17,269 last year, and that decline also increased throughout the year. That marks a great finish to a great start to 2015, when Tesla took the lead in EV sales in the US for the first quarter. On top of that, as of last year the Model S becomes the second-best selling EV ever, with 107,148 deliveries since the middle of 2012. It trails the Nissan Leaf, with well over 200,000 worldwide sales. The Chevrolet Volt/Opel Ampera combo takes a close third, with about 106,000 sales. The Nissan and Chevy rivals both launched at the end of 2010, a 16-month head start on the Tesla. Down the charts, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV which continues to be forbidden fruit for our market notched 39,000 sales. The BYD Qin PHEV sold 31,898 examples in China, and BYD would take the overall victory from Tesla with 58,728 deliveries if you counted all of its EV and PHEV production, such as its electric buses. The BMW i3 nabbed fourth place with 24,057 global sales. In 2011 the Munich automaker said it wanted to sell 30,000 i3s annually by 2014, but by the time the car launched the company considered 15,000 annual sales 'great for now,' so the 2015 number seems a fine place to wind up.
