What you are looking at is a 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible. This car belonged to a friend and I'm helping his wife list and sell the car. The car is very solid and is a great project for someone and has most all of the hard parts completed. The car was my friends pride and joy and he spared no expense when working on it and doing things correctly. The car has two new NOS GM quarter panels and wheel housings installed. The trunk and floor pans are solid. The car has a new NOS front bumper and bumper strip . The interior front and back seats have been reupholstered in the factor style in the color white. The car has the following options power steering , power disk brakes, tilt wheel ,power windows , gauges, power seats front, power top and wire wheel covers. The car came factory with AC but the compressor is missing; everything else appears to be there. The dash has a new dash pad . The car comes with 3 sets of fender skirts and many miscellaneous boxes of trim and other new and used parts to finish the car. The motor is the factory 400 small small block that was rebuilt by the previous owner and runs like a top and doesn't smoke. I don't have any documentation for the rebuild but if if you come look at the car I'm sure you will agree.The car fires on the first try. The transmission is a turbo 350 automatic and functions as it should. The car was a relatively low mileage car when my friend started to work on it. What the car needs is a paint job , a new top and to reassemble all the trim ,bright work and the interior. Please take a look at all the pictures and ask any questions and I will get back to you promptly. This car will be a great project for someone to complete and when completed will be valued between 15 and 20k . The hard part is done and many many thousands have already been spent. Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.
Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
GM recalls trucks and SUVs for brake pedal problem

These include 426,573 vehicles in the US and 46,837 in Canada, according to Reuters. The Problem: The brake pivot nut can loosen over time, which can render the pedal inoperative. This would be a danger to drivers trying to stop the vehicles. In some cases, the "Service Engine Soon" light might come on. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt, and if necessary they will apply adhesive to it and reinstall the part with increased torque.
