UPDATE: Last auction for this car was won by a scammer. This has happened twice. Dad is not doing well so need to sell it quick to help with bills. Listing for 3 days. PLEASE no scammers and only bid if you are serious about buying.

Up for bid is a beautiful 1969 Camaro Yenko tribute. My father has owned this car for three years and has driven it at least three or four times every week. A very reliable and well maintained car. Rust free inside and out. Cranks and runs great. Doors, hood, windows, trunk all close up properly and do not leak. Here are the specs:

1969 Camaro

Yenko Tribute car

350 engine with 2.65 cam and 600 Holley 4 barrel. MDS ignition system

CD radio

Pro Source gauges

BF Goodrich tires

Power steering

Drum brakes

No A/C

Mileage shows 45,706. I assume with a car of this age that would be 145,706 but not sure about that.

I am not an expert on old cars, so not sure what other info you might need. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll find out from my dad.

This is not a 100% condition show car, so it does have some minor blemishes and such like any car that is driven regularly. It's not a trailer queen, but still is very nice. There is one small chip/crack in the paint that I show in a close up pic, but that is the only one I could find. Also, the rear bumper has some minor hazing to the chrome that you can only notice up close. I included a closeup of this as well. Please look at the pics closely and if there are any specific areas you need more shots of just text me and I'll send them to you.

Here are a couple known minor items that need repair:

The gas gauge does not work. Needs the sensor replaced in the tank we believe.

The dome light comes on when you open the passenger door, but not when you open the driver door, So it would need the switch or wiring replaced.

So there you have it! Let me know if I overlooked anything. We hate to see this car go, but Dad needs to pay off some bills so its time for it to find a new home. I don't believe in reserve auctions, so with total disregard to my Dad's nerves I am starting it at $0.99! This way everybody can have fun bidding and price it where you think it should be.

We encourage you to come test drive the car and inspect it in person if possible. We think you will be impressed. Also, if you are out of town and cant come have a look, feel free to have a local mechanic come check it out for you. Just call or email me to set this up.

A $750 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due within 24 hours of auction's end. Final balance must be paid and car picked up within 7 days after that. NO EXCEPTIONS, so please bid only if you are serious about buying and have the money.

Thanks for looking and good luck!

GM recalls 3.6 million vehicles for airbag-software problems

Fri, Sep 9 2016

The Basics: General Motors is recalling 3.64 million vehicles across its lineup for an airbag-related issue. The recall covers the 2014-2015 Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet SS, and Spark EV; 2014-2017 Chevrolet Corvette, Trax, Caprice PPV, Silverado 1500, Buick Encore, and GMC Sierra 1500; and 2015-2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado HD, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Sierra HD, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV. The Problem: Affected vehicles have a sensing and diagnostic module that controls the airbags and seat-belt pretensioners. The software it uses has a defect that can prompt the module to run a diagnostic test under specific driving conditions, which will also deactivate the front airbags and pretensioners. This means that it would be possible for those safety systems to not activate in a crash, potentially leading to injury or death. Injuries/Deaths: General Motors began an investigation that led to the recall after a 2014 Silverado was involved in a crash in which the airbags did not deploy. No information was given as to injuries or deaths. The Fix: Owners can bring their vehicles to a local General Motors dealer where a software update will be installed to fix the issue. The fix will be free of charge. If you own one: General Motors will contact owners of affected cars, and owners can check whether their vehicles are affected by visiting entering their vehicle identification numbers at either the GM Owner Center website or the NHTSA website. Owners can then schedule a time to have the update installed. Related Video:

Peter Max staring down $1M lawsuit over Corvette collection sale

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Pop artist Peter Max recently sold off his collection of 36 vintage Chevrolet Corvettes – one each from 1953 to 1989 – for an undisclosed amount. The new owners have already announced plans to restore some of them and auction the models off sometime soon. Up until then, the sports cars had been languishing in various garages around New York City for decades and were caked in dust and grime. However, Max's end of the transaction has just become more complicated, because two men are suing the artist claiming he employed them to complete the deal first. The men allege that Max hired them to broker the sale of the 36 Corvettes in exchange for a 10-percent commission, according to the New York Post. They claim to have emails and text messages proving the existence of the deal, and are taking Max to court for $1 million over the squabble. The collection of Corvettes was amassed in 1989 as part of a prize package from the television network VH1, and Max bought the cars from the winner intending on using them for an art project. He never got around to it, though, and parked the sports cars around New York, until he finally sold them over the summer.

2014 Corvette Stingray meets Tesla Model S in drag strip showdown

Wed, Jan 29 2014

They come from two different worlds and have little in common. The Tesla Model S P85 is the sportiest version of this paradigm-punching sedan from California, while the 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 is a performance-enhanced version of Michigan's recently-updated sports car stalwart. The West Coast car seats five adults and eats electrons like Popeye eats spinach, the Easterner has two passenger places and, surprisingly, sips gasoline like one might bourbon. An attribute they do happen to share is extreme quickness. This similarity is all the excuse Drag Times needed to set the vehicles beside each other at the Palm Beach International Raceway for a bit of mano-a-mano quarter-mile combat. Fortunately enough, cameras were rolling for each of two bouts down the blacktop and the results recorded for our edification and enlightenment. The winner? We won't spoil it for you, but let's just say it's really, really close. How close? Scroll below and watch the video for yourself. Just be warned, the results may surprise you.
