Up for sale right now is a 2001 Berger Chevrolet Camaro SS Modified by GMMG to greatly out perform a stock Camaro SS. Here is a list of the options that GMMG adds to the Berger package. 380HP/400TQ Package long tube headers Cat Back Chambered Exhaust All New High Flow Air Box Lid Performance Edition Air Box Lid Decal Progressive-Rate Eibach Lowering Springs Slotted Front & Rear Rotors Red Powder Coated Brake Calipers All New Grille with 1969 SS Emblem Car Numbered on Windshield & Rear view Mirror Mobil 1 Oil Fill Cap and Decal New Front Bumper Stripes Black Rear Tail Light Panel Cloisonne' Emblems on Tail Panel and Fenders Numbered Dash Plaque and Fitted Car Cover with Logo Rear view Mirror w/Compass//Auto Dimmer white Faced Gauges with Logo Power Antenna Short throw Shift Stick white Hurst Shift Ball. Signed under the hood by Matt Murphy, as well as 3 generations of the Berger family. Horsepower for this SS is conservatively listed at 380, although in Camaro circles that's known to be quite a bit underrated. This particular car is in stellar condition. On the exterior it has a beautiful white finish with Racing stripes running from hood to trunk. This car has 3000 miles . The GMMG aluminum wheels are in perfect shape and the tires are almost brand new. On the inside it looks like a stock Chevy Camaro SS, with the exception of Custom Gauges, a White Shift ball, GMMG Berger SS Badges. That means all the amenities from a stock 01 SS are included. Leather, Power everything, cruise etc. This car is very rare. GMMG modified 100 Chevy Camaro SS's from 2000- 2002, and this is number 38 of the 100. GMMG only modified around 500 cars total Out of that few, who knows how many are still around. They were green lighted by General motors and are listed in the Camaro white book and also in the official anniversary book of Camaro. Here is your chance to own a piece of Chevy History.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.

Opel CEO talks new EV, will likely be fresh face for Chevy, too

Wed, Jul 23 2014

The rumored demise of the Opel Ampera has been confirmed, but there's good news, too. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann has been busy Tweeting information about the brand's next plug-in vehicle, admitting that the Ampera is on the way out but that plug-in vehicles are here to stay. His Tweets, in full, read: After the eventual run-out of the current generation Ampera, we'll introduce a successor product in the electric vehicle segment. Our next electric vehicle will be part of our massive product offensive – with 27 new vehicles in the 2014-2018 time frame. We see eMobility as important part of the mobility of tomorrow and we will continue to drive down costs & deliver affordability. As we learned earlier this week, the Ampera will not be refreshed when the current Chevy Volt is updated, most likely because of slow sales. Opel sold just 332 Amperas in the first five months of 2014. For now, General Motors is still building Amperas in Michigan for export to Europe. So, what might this new EV mean for the General Motors plug-in fleet? Official spokespeople are being quiet, but we think it's safe to say the new EV Neumann is talking about is not simply a rebadged Chevy Spark EV. This is the first official word about an entirely new EV, and we expect it will come to both the Chevrolet and Opel brands.

Thanks for keeping us on our toes, Detroit Auto Show [w/poll]

Wed, Jan 14 2015

Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us. To that end, borrowing the words of an unnamed automaker PR flack, we'd like to thank the following automakers for enduring "mountain of antacids" and that "creeping sense of paranoia" necessary to keeping ones' wares totally under wraps until the sheets are pulled off the sheetmetal: Buick Avenir concept Chevrolet Bolt concept Ford GT concept Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hyundai HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept And while we're at it, we'd like to throw in an shout-out to Detroit's substantially revised and revitalized Cobo Center, and in particular, the redone Michelin media center, which is arguably the single best accommodations for writing show stories that we've encountered on the entire international circuit. Well done, everyone. Thank you, and keep the surprises coming. Auto News Detroit Auto Show Buick Chevrolet Ford Hyundai Volvo 2015 Detroit Auto Show
