Here we go! As I am slowly deciding to grow up I have decided to let my Camaro go! I have owned this car for almost 7 years. I am deciding to sell this car because I want to purchase a nicer family vehicle. This is not my daily driver I rarely drive this car at all. However, when I do the neighbor hood or the city knows it. The car is very clean and gets a lot of looks. This is partially due to it being a muscle car and it sounds like a beast. I have two other vehicles and do not need to sell this car in anyway. Moreover, I am choosing to sell this car because I want something better for my family. I never intended on selling this car. All work that has been performed on this car has been done professionally. I did not keep the receipts as I never intended on selling this car. I am in the process of getting the receipts as proof and if anyone is really concerned business numbers can be provided to you or googled. Collins Automotive Waterford, MI. (built motor and put car together) D&D performance 6 speed specialists in Wixom, MI. (built the viper spec T56) and Midwest Chassis Performance in IL. (built the fab 9" rear).
This car has been very fun and it is an awesome car. The only thing I can honestly say that I did not or do not enjoy about it is the amount of money I have put into the car. This will benefit who ever decides to purchase the car as I have never been able to find a deal like this or even a car with some good parts when purchasing the several other muscle cars I have owned through out my life. This car has been on 3 different dyno's I have had two different tuners and several people tell me I am crazy if I let the car go for less than $15,000. Ultimately I would be more satisfied with that even though that is still a huge loss for me. I have well over 15k into motor trans and rear which all have less than 6,000 miles on them. However, the reserve is set much much lower than that. If anyone is truly interested in the car text or call me 606-416-2667 and I can text you a clip of the car at idle or maybe even take a new video to satisfy you. Now Parts! I will miss several things as I probably do not even remember what all I have put on the car. Motor is a 408 stroker iron block. The block was x-rayed to assure there were no issues. Bored .30 over. The rotating assembly is new and was balanced at the machine shop as well. The bottom end is identical to the LS7 same crank and titanium connecting rods. Custom grind comp cam with .625 lift, Lunati beehive dual valve spring kit LS3 heads from Brian Tooley with TDA valve job, LS3 intake and 42# injectors, SLP flopack with smooth bellows, 92mm Godspeed ported throttle body. Viper spec T56 6 speed manual transmission which is a nasty trans big difference in gear ratio from stock to viper spec, Monster level 3 clutch, Pro 5.0 shifter after market shortened drive shaft. Midwest Chassis and performance fabricated 9" rear end with 389 gears and trutrak. The rear came with the great fab 9" set up everything is adjustable from the tunnel mounted torque arm (with drive shaft safety loop on torque arm bracket mount) lower control arms and 4 way adjustable strange shocks. UMI pan hard bar relocation kit. I did have 243 ported heads on this car and have had 3 different intakes on the car as well. I have even had four different exhausts on it as well. The current set up is 3 inch true duals with magnaflo x pipe and all madrel bends over the rear end. The exhaust is loud and very aggressive people know when you are coming. I also have 1 7/8 stainless steel Texas Speed long tube headers on the car as well. I also recently put new pads and rotors on all four wheels. Went with power stop slotted and cross drilled rotors. I also performed the heater hose mod for the rear springs to level out the car. I have lowering springs as well but with the true duals there was only 2" of ground clearance so I put stock springs back on. I also have a extra pair of like new tires, a couple magnaflo mufflers and a stainless x pipe that will all go with the car. Honesty! The car has been to the drag strip one time after my biggest build. The set up was with the 243 heads and LS6 intake as well as SLP loudmouth exhaust and Pacesetter 1 3/4 Longtube headers. I believe all those cubes were being choked a little. I made 5 passes all ranged between 11.98-12.10. I also had Toyo Drag Radials that had been on the car for about 2 years. Now the car has the LS3 heads and intake which gave me 40 rwhp on the dyno alone (dyno dynamics before and after numbers were a gain of 40) plus bigger headers and 3" true duals so who knows what I really picked up hp wise. Plus I have brand new Nitto NT05 Drag Radials on the rear that haven't seen the track and don't even have 200 miles on them. This car is heavier being a convertible and my 60" times sucked. I was spinning and the best 60" was like 1.78 and I was trapping between 119-121 mph. This car with current set up should run real low 11's with slicks I have no doubt that this can be and is a 10 second car. I also put the SW6 hood on it which shaved 40 lbs off the front end. I put a lot of time thought and money into this car and wanted to try to make it bullet proof as well. With that said I rarely drive this bullet proof car and I definitely did not abuse it the way it was meant to be abused in the almost 7 years I have owned the car I have been to the track twice and made less than 12 passes on it. Now the numbers. This car was tuned by both Sean Collins and James Short. James Short tunes on a small dyno dynamics dyno and even he says that the dyno reads really low. There are several people in my town that go to Short tuning and are disapointed with their numbers. To me dyno numbers do not always tell the story so I never worried too much about them. Either way there are Corvettes that have gotten like 425-440 rwhp on his dyno and they will dip into the high 10's in the quarter. My car put down 444 rwhp and 419 ft lb tq on that dyno. Collins has a mustang dynometer on his dyno my car puts down 486 rwhp and 462 ft lb tq. I was at a car show with a mobile dynojet and put the car on it just to do it and the car made 501 rwhp and 479 ft lb tq. There was a big discrepancy between the three dynos. To me every dyno is different and I am more curious about mph and numbers at the track. So take it for what its worth. This is a very clean, sick and nasty car. The car is indigo night paint code Y4 it is a new Hyundai color. The car is a dark blue with purple hues. When the sun shines or at certain times the car looks purple it is a cool color. The car was painted a little over a year ago. The interior is clean. There are no tears in the leather and there are not cracks in the dash or door panels. |

GM recalling 15k midsize pickups over leaky brakes
Mon, Jun 8 2015General Motors has announced a recall in coordination with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration related to the brakes on the 2015 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. In the 14,838 units in the United States estimated to be affected, the front brake calipers may be leaking fluid. Needless to say, that could make them less effective, which could hinder the vehicle's ability to stop in time to avoid a collision. The affected units were all manufactured between January 6 and December 24, 2014. The fix seems simple and straightforward enough, with dealers being instructed to inspect the front brake calipers, and replace them if necessary. See below for all the details from NHTSA. RECALL Subject : Brake Fluid Leak Report Receipt Date: MAY 12, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V278000 Component(s): SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC Potential Number of Units Affected: 14,838 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon trucks manufactured January 6, 2014, to December 24, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience the front brake calipers leaking brake fluid. This is due to air pockets, an imperfection in the metal caliper body. CONSEQUENCE: If the vehicle experiences a brake fluid leak it can increase the stopping distance, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the front-brake calipers if necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 10, 2015. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14888. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. NHTSA investigates 1.7 million GM SUVs for windshield wiper failures
Tue, Nov 6 2018WASHINGTON - The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday it is investigating whether General Motors should recall an additional 1.7 million sport utility vehicles due to an issue with windshield wiper failures. GM in August 2016 recalled 367,800 2013 GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox SUVs in the United States to address the problem. But after receiving 249 complaints about similar problems, the federal agency said it is probing whether the recall should be expanded to include an additional 1.7 million vehicles from the 2010-2016 model years. The automaker said it is cooperating with the NHTSA review. GM said it recalled the 2013 GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox SUVs "because warranty data showed a higher-than-expected failure rate," adding it has continued to monitor field data on other model years of those vehicles. GM noted that no crashes or injuries related to the issue have been reported. The Detroit-based automaker said the recalls were prompted after a GM Canada brand quality manager reported a potential safety issue relating to reports of windshield wiper failures in Canada through GM's "Speak Up For Safety," program in late 2015. The data showed significantly higher field incidents in parts of Canada, which prompted a June 2016 recall there. Over the next two months, a higher number of U.S. reports prompted a U.S. recall, the company added. In the 2016 recall, GM said the front-wiper module would be replaced with a module that has a water deflector and, if needed, dealers would fill the water management hole and drill a new small hole in a different location.(Reporting by David Shepardson, editing by G Crosse)Related Video: Government/Legal Recalls Chevrolet GM GMC SUV
