Amazing 1989 Iroc Z28 Camaro Convertible, Very Nice, New Paint, Built ~500hp on 2040-cars
Mesa, Arizona, United States
Awesome collector toy or fully street legal (currently in az) daily driver with a lot of power that sounds awesome. This is a true iroc convertible verified by vin and RPO codes. This is a rare factory convertible (not a T-Top conversion) that has a number 3 in the 6th digit of the VIN number for factory convertibles of this year. Only 3,940 were ever made of these. I have owned this car for about 4 years and it has a box a title (no accidents). Also this car does not have the standard 5.0 engine, it has a much faster 350 sbc 5.7 liter.
Here is a video of the car running. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxORAv0u9XE. Here are some high res pics here http://www.magentatech.com/other/iroc/1989iroccamaro.html Irocs were only made from 1985 to 1990 and even then it must be labeled in the vin and rpo codes, or it's just an RS or Z28. You can easily Google how to verify a real iroc if you want more info. Power is near 500hp, but if you want exact you'll have to pay to have it put on a dyno which i will do at your cost (contact me to make arrangements). Its sounds like a true muscle car, and everyone loves it when I take it out, so if you want an attention getter, this is the one. All new seals and gaskets redone 2 years ago, and all the performance mods put on, and car has been driven less than 500 miles since this time. Automatic transmission Th350 with no issues. Cold AC, passed Az emissions for another year no problems, so new Arizona tags for another year until October. This car can be used as a daily driver if you wish, it runs great as a daily driver, never over heats, etc... no problems, just as reliable as my other car except everyone stares and points, and when i'm sitting at a light everyone also turns and a looks as where the rumble is coming from. New tags a few weeks ago, Engine replaced with 5.7 sbc with the following upgrades:
Recent Paint job costing over 5k, entire body was dismantled, all trim was removed, ground effects, front and back, even the door locks and handles. Premium RPG paint, and triple clear coat. It is Not a maaco paint job with bumpers, mirrors, and trim still on, those don't last, the paint will start to flake around the edges over time. Color is bright red, matches exact original color using original RPO codes. I had the car painted again only because the prior owner repainted it a different red and was poor quality. Been garaged ever since, no snow (az) and never driven in rain or storms, and only driven a few hundred miles since new paint put on. Chrome iroc replica rims. Tires have only a few thousand miles, still look great and have those rubber tabs still hanging off that new tires have. Interior is all stock. New door and trunk molding also recently put on. Other stuff: ac, power driver seat, upgraded cd stereo, etc... Several other parts replaced as well such as power steering pump, starter, battery, and alternator, new brake system front/back, and new front suspension, alignment, tires balanced. I have a folder with receipts. 128k on frame, < 2k miles since all new gaskets and performance parts. I've put about 3k miles on the car since i have had it about 4 years (3,000) just driving around town and having fun. The 3 only minor things i am aware of with this car:
Deposit of US $2,000.00 within 48 hours of auction close Full payment is required within 7 days of auction close Car will not be released until funds have completely cleared. I will assist in shipping provided you set everything up and pay all costs. |

This is how GM is hiding new Chevy Volt in public
Wed, Oct 1 2014General Motors is letting the public know that, well, it's not about to let the public know anything else about the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. But the automaker is willing to talk about its camouflaging process for upcoming versions of the extended-range plug-in. So it's a half-hearted secret, at best. GM actually has a "camouflage engineer" charged with creating ways to disguise the styling of new vehicles. In the Volt's case, the company is applying black and white swirly color patterns on top of the materials, such as plastics, vinyl and foam, that are used liberally across the body. It's all part of a teaser campaign that started last month with pictures of part the 2016 Volt. Earlier this month, GM said it was keeping track of Volt drivers' habits as it works on the next-gen model. The company noted that more than four out of five trips are being made in all-electric driving mode, and that 60 percent of Volt owners use a plain-old 100-volt outlet to recharge their cars. The car is slated to make its global debut at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next January, and the early word is that performance and all-electric range will be improved (we should hope so). The car will also be sleeker. By how much, we can't tell yet, because of those darn swirly patterns. GM's got more non-details in its press release below. Engineers charged with hiding styling while vehicle testing proceeds in public DETROIT – The styling of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is one of the automotive world's best-kept secrets. Keeping customers and media eager to see the successor to the groundbreaking original at bay until the new Volt debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January is tricky business. First, it is engineers, not designers, who are charged with creating camouflage that balances styling secrecy with the need to validate the Volt and its systems in public. "If it were up to me it would be a shoebox driving down the road," said Lionel Perkins, GM camouflage engineer. "The design team wants us to cover more of the vehicle and the engineering team needs to have enough of the vehicle's weight and aero exposed so that the tests in the development process are consistent with the product that will come to market." The engineers responsible for the "cool" designs covering the car might deserve style points but their efforts are intended strictly to hide the metal beneath.
2020 Chevy Trax spied sporting design cues from the new Blazer
Wed, Oct 3 2018We saw spy shots in August for what we thought was either a redesigned Chevrolet Trax or new GMC subcompact crossover. At the time we were leaning Chevy. But after this latest batch of spy shots taken near GM's proving grounds, we're now thinking this one is the Trax replacement and the other one was a GMC. For one, the thin row of LEDs looks remarkably similar to the 2019 Chevy Blazer's LED strip. The additional light slightly below that is similar to the Blazer as well, leading us to believe that the next Trax will have a Blazer-esque front end. At first glance, this vehicle looks slightly larger than today's Trax with a much brawnier shape than the current blob-like design. The rear roof cladding could be hiding the same sloped rear window with spoiler hangover we see on the Blazer. Circling back to the other small GM crossover we caught testing, this one doesn't have those Blazer elements. The curved windshield and sloping roof are like those of the GMC Terrain, as are the horizontal grille bars. By contrast, the above car has a straighter windshield and a roof shaped more like the Blazer. One element that does seem to diverge from the new Blazer are the taillights, but they don't exactly look production-ready anyway. If we're right about this being the next Trax (and we're pretty sure we are) then this looks to be a more distinctive vehicle than what it will replace. The mirrors have left their awkward spot on the doors, and it's shaping up to be a much sportier looking crossover as a whole. This vehicle will most likely end up being a 2020 model year car, and if so, we would expect to see undisguised photos of both it and the assumed GMC version next year. Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
