This is a great car that can go to the track for a weekend, and be driven home with A/C and cruise on. Big power, handles, great, well sorted car. Needs nothing but a new owner. I prepped this car and succesffully ran it in the 2012 and 2013 One Lap of America event with my father, and now we're going to move on to another project. I will entertain reasonable offers and trades for other vehicles (modern, muscle, street rod, motorcycles). I have clear title to the car. The car is available for inspection, test rides ONLY with proof of funds. All the vinyl decals have been removed from the vehicle.
I'm the original owner, the car has 28,734 miles on it today. It is a 6 speed with leater and all options except sunroof.
After our last event, oil, rear end, transmission fluids changed, new brakes all around, fresh alignment. All the vinyl has been removed from the car.
Here's a list of modifications and what is included with the sale:
Engine: Jannetty Racing had Comp Cams custom grind a camshaft and they did the headwork on the car (new valvesprings, valves, pushrods, etc....) It has Dyantech long tube headers, high flow cats, and a magnaflow cat-back exhaust. There is a CAI airbox and a Chevrolet ZL-1 fuel pump installed. Jannetty tuned the car on their dyno and the car comes with an SCT tuner with two tunes on it for the 19" or 20" wheels so the speedometer reads correctly. Engine work was done at approximately 14,000 miles. NO check engine lights, car passes emissions in NY state with no issues. Jannetty Racing is in Waterbury, CT and well known in the Camaro and LS engine community.
Suspension: Hothkis Race Pack with competition alignment.
Brakes: I just changed the front and rear brakes when we got home to an OEM spec pad and rotor by Raybestos that is actually quiet and doesn't dust so much. I have front and rear Carbotech XP-10 and XP-8 pads that are new and pre-bedded to go to the track with. (I have always run a cheap rotor and thrown them away when I change front pads.)
Wheels/Tires: Car comes with four OEM 20x9 wheels with Pirelli 275-40-20 tires on them with approximately 2000 miles. Also, Forgeline ZX3 wheels, 19x10.5 with custom offset (same wheel as the Pedders project car) with 305-30-19 Bridgestone SO-4 tires with 1000 miles on them. (We ran One Lap this year on Bridgestone RE-11 but one tire was punctured and non-repairable, so we bought 4 tires to come home with.) I also have two 20x8 OEM front wheels.
I have the OEM front wheels, original exhaust/suspension/airbox parts to go with the car.
Exterior: I took off all the badges and chrome. Added a heritage grill and a GM front splitter. Blacked out taillight trim.
There is a hardwired Valentine 1 radar detector on a custom mount under the rearview mirror.
Overall, it's a nice car with a very clean interior, but we have been using it on tracks and rallies, so normal chips and scratches from use.

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
Leaked GM document shows GMC Sierra I6 diesel is more powerful than F-150's
Thu, Oct 4 2018GM told us earlier this year that the 2019 GMC Sierra would be getting a 3.0-liter I6 diesel option, but it never mentioned power or fuel economy figures. Hold the phone though, because a leaked GM Canada document just showed up online that lists out the details we've been waiting for. Originally published by TFL Truck, the 3.0-liter oil-burner supposedly makes 282 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. For those who are counting, that's more than the Ford F-150's 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet from its 3.0-liter diesel. It soundly bests the 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque from Ram's 3.0-liter diesel as well. Fuel economy is another story, though. The promotional material states that it will get 28 mpg on the highway, which is 2 mpg short of the F-150's 30 mpg — mind you, it's only capable of that magical 30 mpg figure in rear-wheel drive form. There's another caveat here, too; these are numbers for Canada, so they're not exactly finalized EPA figures. However, we wouldn't expect drastic differences between the two when the American numbers come out. The leaked documents also state the diesel Sierra will be capable of towing 7,800 pounds. That number seems remarkably low when compared to the F-150, which can tow up to 11,400 pounds with its diesel. Extra power and torque would have us assume that GM could get even better numbers than Ford, so we're going to hold our final judgment for official word. A 10-speed automatic will do the shifting on the diesel, just like on the 6.2-liter V8. Since the Chevy Silverado is also expected to get this engine, we can assume the figures would be almost, if not identical, to those we see here. We recently drove the 2019 Sierra and Silverado without the diesel engines, so go check those reviews out if you'd like to know more of our thoughts on the redesigned GM trucks. Related video:
Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars
Tue, Mar 10 2015Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.
