2002 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 With Upgrades on 2040-cars
San Luis Obispo, California, United States
Selling my 2002 Camaro Z28 in favor of a more family oriented car. This is the 35th Anniversary edition with a 5.7L LS1 engine and 4-speed automatic. This car has been meticulously cared for. I'm the second owner (Autocheck shows four, but it was owned by two families and transferred between father and son) and have owned it since 28,000 miles. It has very low miles for a 12 year old car. I mostly drive a work vehicle so this car has been limited to weekend use the last two years or so. This Camaro has the following upgrades:
Upgraded suspension - includes tubular panhard rod, torque arm, and lower control arms all from UMI performance. Rebuilt transmission - Rebuilt by All Auto Transmissions in San Luis Obispo, CA. Was given a performance rebuild which includes a Beast sunshell, Raybestos clutches, Transgo HD shift kit, upgraded 3200 torque converter from Circle D, and much more. Engine - Ported and polished throttle body, performance air intake lid, Diablosport performance tune (tuning module included), BBK 80mm intake manifold, and Sweet Thunder muffler upgrade. Radiator and cooling system flushed, hoses replaced and water pump replaced at 94k miles. New spark plug wires and plugs at 94k mikes. New battery at 93k miles. Braking - Flushed braking system with Superblue ATE fluid, replaced original factory brake rotors with higher quality rotors (brand name escapes me at the moment), powdercoated brake rotor hats (black) and calipers (red, calipers were rebuilt in the process around 92k miles). Stainless steel brake lines installed at the same time as the caliper rebuild work. Exterior - Clear corner turn signals, custom front grille, chrome wheels, and custom fit car cover. Exterior and paint in excellent condition. Car has always been garaged or covered. Interior - All leather seats in excellent condition, drivers side leather repaired by Mitches Stitches in San Luis Obispo around 90k miles. Sound system upgraded, includes Alpine 10" subwoofer and Alpine speakers in doors and sail panels. Custom installed tweeter speakers installed in front A-arms. All speakers and subwoofer driven by a JBL 5-channel amplifier installed in the trunk. Custom double din Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS touch screen display with bluetooth and hands free phone operation. This car is fun to drive and I hate to sell it but need to move on. Let me know if you have any questions. |

Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years
Fri, Feb 21 2014Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up. Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia
Sun, 03 Feb 2013It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
Weekly Recap: Revisting the BBC report that ended Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear run
Sat, Mar 28 2015Jeremy Clarkson's long run as a Top Gear host has come to an end, and the reason is clear: His physical assault on one of the show's producers crossed a line, and the government-owned BBC couldn't tolerate it. The incident between Clarkson and Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon was initially described as a "fracas," and Clarkson was suspended. But his popularity and widespread support – even British Prime Minister David Cameron weighed in – suggested that the controversial Clarkson might be given yet another chance. The BBC put this to rest Wednesday when it sacked Clarkson and revealed the findings of its investigation. The report spelled out how Clarkson struck Tymon on the patio of a North Yorkshire (UK) hotel, leaving him with a bloodied, swollen lip. It was severe enough that the producer sought medical treatment. During and after the attack, Clarkson shouted expletives at Tymon and threatened to fire him. The noise carried into the hotel's dining room and even to a bedroom. Local police investigated the incident, but Tymon isn't pressing charges. The huge audience numbers, Clarkson's popularity and the high-octane excitement of Top Gear all melted away in the eyes of BBC director-general Tony Hall, who saw an attacker and a victim. "For me a line has been crossed," he said in a statement. "There cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another dictated by either rank, or public relations and commercial considerations." In that moment, Clarkson was the bad guy, though he was actually the one who reported it to the network and made repeated attempts to apologize to Tymon. He's also urged the media to leave the producer alone. Hall voiced regret in the statement that announced Clarkson's contract would not be renewed, but the BBC decided to move on. Rumors are swirling about possible replacements for Clarkson. The network says it wants to continue Top Gear in 2016 and is looking to air the rest of this season's episodes. Despite the controversy, the show has a global audience of 350 million viewers and is one of the BBC's most valuable properties. It's unclear what Clarkson's co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, will do, as their contracts were also reportedly up to be renewed.
