I'm selling my 2001 Chevy Camaro SS. This is a 6-speed car with T-Tops. 144,XXX miles on the body. Fresh Motor and rear end.  Parts listed below. First off this car is priced to sell as-is no warranty or guarantee of anything. The car has been well taken care of for the age and mileage. Some of the work I did some of it was done prior to me owning and do not have receipts for everything unfortunately.  But car does have clear title, A/C works and so does the cruise.  Car could use some more computer tuning I don't have the time.  I purchased a AEM wideband to install to finish the tune but I need to sell due to possibly relocating for work.  Wideband does NOT come with car.

The Good:

Within the last 2,000 miles the car has new brakes (pads, rotors) idle control sensor, oxygen sensors (rear o2's have been deleted through tuning as car has no cats) also comes with brand new extra set,  spark plugs and has been dyno tuned (1 hour of tuning more fine tuning should be done I just don't have the time) a new fuel filter, new Mass airflow sensor, A/C Blows cold and works just sometimes throws a fit when it first starts.  Car also came from factory without traction control option (not very common option)

Within the last 7,500 miles the following has been replaced:
Tires - sumitomo HTR Z II 275/35/17 all around
pacesetter headers
used front seats (power still works)
used center console
front door speaker covers
kenwood CD player
Kenwood 5 1/2" door speakers
Boston acoustic rear speakers
Rockford Fosgate amplifier
Rockford Fosgate 10" sub in custom box
Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
fuel sending unit

The following was done with 141,200 miles on the car:
LS6 short block
replaced rings, cam, crank and rod bearings
new oil pan
ARP rod bolts
Cam shaft specs are 232/236 .601/.601 112 LSA
Lunati Lifters
TSP 7.4" hardened push rods, Cloyes billet timing chain
Ported LS6 oil pump
MLS head gaskets
.241 head casting milled .010, valve job, bowl and throat blend
PRC dual valve springs
LS6 Intake manifold
Fast 42lb injectors
all new engine gaskets
LS2 style starter
SPEC stage 2 clutch
Motive 4.10 gears also rear end rebuilt with ratech bearings
KYB rear shocks
Mail order tune (before dyno tune) skip shift eliminated, rear 02 deleted, speedo corrected
new rack and pinion

The Bad:
Previous owner had a front bra on it. hood could use repainted I never bothered with it. Also rear spoiler has some bubbles.  Behind driver door on quarter panel has dent.  Other than that normal wear and tear for a daily driven 12 year old car.  Car needs to be computer tuned either by a tuner shop or by someone that knows how and has the time.  It starts and drives I haven't taken it further than 100 miles in one trip.  I was using HP tuners and can provide current tune it is not locked.  The interior around t-tops could use some work T-Tops do not leak (drivers side behind driver head on door leaks only in automatic car washes).

Reminder this car is not a some show car it is a 2001 with original paint, 144k miles and has been taken care of for being mostly daily driven all its life you can tell from the photos. No tire kickers and no pleasure test drives serious bidders only.   Reserve right to end auction early due to being sold locally as well.  Car does have lein on title and reserve covers this so there would be no issues.  Again clear title and dont expect a perfect show car this has been somewhat of a project and its a FUN FUN FUN car I just don't have the time with the possible move.

What car should James Robertson buy to drive his famous 21-mile commute?

Thu, Feb 5 2015

The Internet has been abuzz this week with the story of Detroit resident James Robertson, the 56-year-old factory worker who has walked some 21 miles to work for the last 10 years. The Detroit Free Press brought Robertson's story to the fore, helping an online fundraising campaign to generate more than $275,000 (as of this writing). The original goal was just $5,000, or about enough to replace the used Honda that died on Robertson back in 2005, and left him walking. So, newly flush with funds, what's the perfect car for Robertson to buy? Let's look at the specifics of his situation, and try to pick out the best options. Here's what we know: Robertson's commute is (famously) 21 miles; he lives in downtown Detroit (for now) and seems pretty humble, so something very flashy is probably out; former Honda aside, his ties to the city (and statements about being a Ford fan) seem to indicate a Detroit Three company product is best; he's a single guy with a girlfriend; he's got to deal with Michigan weather, and the sometimes fickle snow removal processes in The D. Here are some choices: Ford F-150 Robertson is on record as being a Taurus fan, and after a decade of walking I've no doubt that the big sedan would offer a cozy respite. Still, as a car guy and a student of the industry, I'd have a hard time recommending a sedan so clearly in need of replacement. Especially when The Blue Oval has such great stuff within the rest of its roster. The 2015 F-150 seems almost perfect for Robertson. Opting for either of the new EcoBoost V6 engines should help keep fuel bills in reasonable check, while healthy ride height and four-wheel drive will get him to work on time even during the snowiest of snow days. Better still, with a fat options sheet and car-like ride quality, Robertson can have just about every amenity he might want, in a package that won't disrespect his blue-collar roots. Chevrolet Colorado You guys saw this one coming, right? The smaller footprint of the midsize Chevy pickup, relative to some of the other options here, should be an advantage for urban parking and driving. And again, 4x4 is an option for the nasty weather, the running costs should stay pretty low and there aren't many tech/luxury features that can't be had in-cabin. I'd go ahead and splash out on the Crew Cab bodystyle, too, just in case Robertson feels like starting a carpool.

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."

MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon

Sat, Jun 20 2015

MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.
