1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Pro Street Drag Car on 2040-cars

Year:1998 Mileage:93333
Location:

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States

Up for bids is a very nice 1998 Camaro Z28 Coupe, having been modified into a pro street style drag car. The motor is a modified 5.7 Liter LS1, with an automatic transmission. The odometer reads 93,333 which is accurate to the body, but obviously not the drivetrain. The body and the paint are in very good to excellent condition. The car prior to it modification was a well cared for car, which can be seen by its condition. The body is rust free, the underbody and frame rails are in great condition. The car runs, and drives the way you see it, so just add your NOS bottle, and you could be on your way to the track right now.

The modifications are as follows:

Nitrous – direct port (one-stage)

Nitrous outlet throttle bottle plate (two stage)

Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator

Purge solenoid

Separate 1 gallon nitrous fuel tank

UTE throttle body

MSD ignition wires

MSD activated window switch (ignition)

MSD Nitrous retard box

Relocated ignition coils off valve covers

Billet breathers

Aftermarket billet fuel rails

Fast intake manifold

Block-off valley plate

Head studded engine-AFR cylinder heads (1530 or 1630)

Aftermarket Chevrolet aluminum valve covers

Shift lift for tach

Aftermarket harmonic balancer

Meziere hi-flow water pump

Updated timing cover

Ceramic coated headers

Flowmaster exhaust

Electric exhaust cut-out

Hughes stall converter

Trans brake

Tranny cooler

12-bolt rear end

Anti-roll bar

New trailing arm (BMR fabrication)

Hotchkis subframe connector

Cross-drilled rotors (front & back)

Weld rims

4 brand new Hoosier slicks (26/4 1/2 /15 F, 275/60-R15 R)

QA1 adjustable shocks (front & back)

Line lock

5-point harness

Roll cage with driver/passenger swing-out bars

Kirkey racing seat

Please view all the pictures listed, as they may be able to answer any questions you might have about condition or parts installed, otherwise feel free to contact me with any reasonable questions you may have prior to bidding. I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge, as I am selling the car as a personal representative to the owner.

Thank you and good luck.

Next Chevy Volt will be 2016 model and ride on new chassis

Fri, Mar 7 2014

What do we know about the 2016 Chevy Volt? Well, for now, all we can do is try to put the puzzle together without the box. Thankfully, a new batch of pieces has arrived from a new report in Edmunds, which says that the 2016 model year will introduce the second generation of a car that hasn't been dramatically updated since it went on sale in 2010. The new Volt is getting an "evolutionary styling change" and will ride on a new front-drive platform that has been developed by General Motors. GM's Kevin Kelly told AutoblogGreen that he has "no comment on future products," but he did acknowledge that Chevrolet is working on a second-generation Volt, "but I can't say anything about timing." Everybody already knew that a next-gen Volt is coming, so that's not a surprise. What we don't know is any real concrete information on the car itself. The few tidbits of information we do have help define the outlines of the next version of Chevy's halo car, but they're not confirmed yet. For the record, they range from the eye-raising (a $10,000 price drop) to the logical (20 percent more electric range). We can't see the whole picture yet, but the pieces do point to the 2016 Volt, which would be released next year sometime, being a much bigger deal than the last update, when the Volt's range was increased by three electric miles thanks to a battery capacity increase of 16 kWh to 16.5.

What we know, and think we know, about the 2016 Chevy Volt

Wed, Aug 13 2014

With the next-gen Chevy Volt due to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show early next year, bits and pieces about the new car are making their way into the press. Perhaps most importantly, the new Volt is going to have better "fuel economy and efficiency," according to GM executive vice president Mark Reuss. The current Volt gets 98 MPGe and 37 miles per gallon on premium fuel. It also has a 38-mile electric-only range. We don't know how GM will improve the efficiency or to what degree, but the logical options include making the car lighter, giving it better aerodynamics and/or improving the powertrain. To that end, one of the big things we don't know for sure includes information on the new gas-powered engine. Forbes says it will be a downsized 1.0-liter, three-cylinder mill instead of the 1.4-liter, four-cylinder used in the current model, which could certainly help the car be more efficient. The new Volt is also going to have more technology, which shouldn't surprise anyone. GM is now openly talking about how it will change the way it markets the Volt, shifting away from the mass-market mentality to focus on the regions where the car is already popular. "There's a Northeast and West Coast market for Volt, and there's nothing wrong with that," Chevy chief marketing officer Tim Mahoney told Forbes. There are rumors that the new Volt will have seating for five by adding a seat in the back. This is something a lot of current Volt owners would love, but we've heard nothing official hinting that this would be the case. We expect the battery to be the new 17.1-kWh version, or maybe even have a capacity increase, so GM would have to seriously repackage the pack to eliminate the ridge that runs from between the front seats and then back to the rear two seats. If you've heard anything official, do let us know.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.
