This is without question one of the Toughest decisions I've ever had to make.  Let me explain why...

I remember when I was about 12 years old and I was outside of my house riding my bike with a friend.  We had built this little (Monstrous to us at the time, lol) ramp, placed baseball cards in our spokes to make our bikes sound cool and were getting ready to ride down our hill and hit the ramp like Evil Knievel.  My Friend started to go first and as he started going we all of a sudden heard this Amazing Roar (for a slight second we thought it was the his bike from the baseball cards)!!  This Roar, this Sound we could hear from around our corner.  It was Loud, it was Mean, it was Cool whatever it was.  We looked at each other in Great suspense as to what it was.  We waited in anticipation to catch the first glimpse of the nose of this Beast that was getting ready to turn the corner of our Neighborhood.

Just as we couldn't wait a second longer, there it came.  This rumbling, throaty, ground shaking MONSTER peaking its nose at the corner stop sign.  It was sleek, it was Ready it was something I hadn't ever seen before.  And, there it came, eyes pointing straight at us as if it was going to Eat us for Breakfast.  All of a Sudden it took off like a Rocket, tires spinning, smoke pillowing up behind it as it headed right towards us as if it was going to take off like a Jet!  And, boy, it sounded just like one coming down that street!

We waited for about 2.2 seconds before that Beast pulled up in front of the house across from us.  The car stayed there and ran as he hit the gas pedal and I saw the car shake, rock back and forth with all the horsepower just Screaming through it.  He hit the gas a Second time and it was as if all that POWER just sucked the Oxygen out of the air as we stood there in awe, feeling the ground shaking below our feet and of what was in front of us.  It was a 1995 Z28 5.7 liter V8 Camaro that just rocked our entire Neighborhood and at that very moment changed my Life forever.  I knew one day, I would own that car.....

Fast forward 20 years...

I own this car, I saved every penny I could to buy this car.  I worked overtime for more than two years to save for it.  I searched dozens and dozens of Camaro's until I found the Perfect one and this was it.  I Love this car.  After our Kids went off to college I couldn't wait to go out and get it and I did. I washed and waxed it every Sunday.  I kept it in the garage covered up.  We took it out Every Saturday night.  My eyes would water up every time I got into it.  It brought back that Childhood memory every time I saw it.

Well, after enjoying my Pride and Joy.......my Wife surprised me with news of a New Pride and Joy that will be entering our lives in about 8 months.  My first thought was my Camaro.  My second thought was the start of a new college fund.  We thought we were past the "Baby raising stages" and getting ready to finish paying for two already in college.  But, that's ok.  I am happy, excited and of course a little nervous at the same time.

I am starting this Auction off at $1.00 and it will sell to the highest well deserved bidder for them to enjoy for a long time as I did.  I spent $10,000 on the car when I purchased it.  I was told that it has just about 500hp in it and well, it feels like it when you take off!!  (i have not personally had it Dyno'd) It has 80,000 ORIGINAL miles and a CLEAN CARFAX.  It has scratches from a runaway shopping cart a couple months ago (pretty easy fix).  It is loaded with all the options, Leather, AC, Custom Exhaust also installed., Power Windows and Locks.  It has an Alarm system (COBRA) installed.  Everything works, but of course its not perfect (to me it is, but to someone that is more knowledgeable than me it may be less than a 10).

This is a California car.  There is ZERO and I mean ZERO rust!  I will assist with shipping (cost of course would be the responsibility of the buyer).

Hope everyone has an Awesome Day!

The car is sold as is where is.  no warranties expressed or disclosed.  all inspections are welcome and encouraged.  bidding is the responsibility of the buyer.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.

Detroit Three's lucrative pickup war intensifies as Ram makes big gains

Thu, Jan 3 2019

DETROIT — The battle for profits from sales of large pickup trucks is intensifying among the Detroit Three automakers as sales of small cars in the United States shrivel. For decades Ford has had the single best-selling truck brand in its F-Series trucks. General Motors' Chevrolet brand was a solid No. 2, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram was a distant third. Now, that hierarchy may be in flux. Sales figures for December and the fourth quarter released on Thursday show Ram tied with GM's Chevy for the No. 2 spot, as sales of the redesigned Ram pickup surged, fueled in part by demand for an optional 12-inch (30.48 cm) dashboard screen. Chevy not long ago held second place to Ford by a wide margin. GM executives said on Thursday they are bullish on their new GMC and Chevy trucks for 2019.Related: How the Detroit Three's pickups compare on paper 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie review 2019 Chevy Silverado 2.7L four-cylinder review 2019 Ford F-150 2.7L EcoBoost review "There's no doubt this segment (pickup trucks) is one of the epicenters of the auto wars," said Sandor Piszar, director of marketing for Chevrolet at GM. "It's been that way forever, and we wouldn't have it any other way." On Wall Street, investors give electric car leader Tesla a higher valuation than any of the Detroit automakers. But in the nation's heartland, big pickups remain far more popular and profitable than any electric car — and most other consumer vehicles of any kind. Large pickups generate at least $17,000 a vehicle in pretax profit for GM, the company has indicated in disclosures to investors. By contrast, many Detroit Three sedans are so unprofitable, their manufacturers have decided not to build them anymore. 'Hotly contested' Sustaining sales and pricing in the large-pickup segment will be critical in a year when most forecasters expect overall U.S. car and light truck sales to fall. Ford's U.S. sales chief, Mark LaNeve, on Thursday called the F Series "the backbone of our franchise" during a conference call, and added the "segment will continue to be strong, but hotly contested" in 2019. Automakers are banking on pickup truck sales to stay strong even if U.S. interest rates continue to rise. Rising interest rates translate into higher monthly car payments and are expected to deter some buyers in 2019. GM has said 27 percent of Chevrolet and GMC trucks — which can haul trailers by day and substitute for a luxury sedan by night — sell for more than $55,000.

Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?

Sat, Sep 23 2017

If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below.
