One of the most desirable and collectible IROCs built is the 1990 convertible, and this is 1 of just 1294 built. This particular Iroc is 1 of 50 Marlboro Sweepstakes Vehicles which was sold by it's original owner right after winning the car. The second owner indicated that she used it only in summer, and that is was kept in a covered garage it's entire life and it shows. I purchased the vehicle through a friend to help his aquaintance financially, and now I am looking to sell the car for a modest gain. I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time as the vehicle is for sale locally. I'm not a dealer, I have title in hand, and the vehicle is being sold as is. I'm not interested in trades.
The car has not been modified from what I can tell, and still has the original muffler and exhaust system. It has some typical signs of wear for a 23 year old vehicle, but overall it looks great, and turns heads everywhere it's driven. It's fully optioned with equipment group #3. The interior is in great condition, and I have found no tears, or holes in any of the seats, or door panels. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The engine compartment is very clean, and the original identification stickers can be seen on the power booster, proportion valve, windshield washer pump, fans, throttle cables, power steering pump, hoses, etc. The radio works but I'm sure the original speakers will need to be replaced. The top is in good condition and I believe it's the original canvas with the somewhat yellowed rear window. The undercarriage is clean, and the doors, quarters, fenders, have no rot. Car Fax is clean and documentation verifies mileage. The left door and fender appear to have been painted at some point in its life, and the lower front valance has some large chips which will need to be painted. I have the original window sticker, pre delivery inspection sheet, dealer prep sheet, Philip Morris letter, copy of original owner's title, Manifest & Interior Build sheet - very rare to have both, original owner casette tape, and car fax copy. The car will make somebody very happy that loves a highly documented and original condition Iroc.
I had new ac delco platinum plugs, ac delco wires, delco distributor module, coolant flush, and oil changed about eight months ago or less than 100 miles ago. The A/C was charged and blew very cold through the entire summer, but an o-ring must be leaking because now it's cycles cold then warm. The fog lights are not coming on, but when my mechanic jumped them they worked, so he suspected it's the switch - from what I hear it's a fairly common problem. The car has Good Year Eagle GT tires with some tread life remaining. I would not be afraid to drive this car across the country. Non-refundable $500 deposit due via pay pal within 48 hours of end of auction. Balance due in full due within seven business days. I'd prefer the balance be paid by bank certified check or cash in person. I would be happy to coordinate a pick up with your selected shipper.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a Swiss hit
Mon, 04 Mar 2013We've just received an early peek at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible here at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors was kind enough to let us attend the final dress-rehearsal for its press conference scheduled for tomorrow's opening media day, and we've come away with a good look at the droptop C7 in person.
In the metal, the new Corvette Convertible seems somehow less avant-garde than the Coupe, even in Z51 Performance Package guise. That's not necessarily a bad thing - more of an observation. That initial impression may be because the C7's new greenhouse is one of its most prominent departures from Corvettes past. While we didn't get to see the top erected, there's no rear side window in the stock images that Chevy has already released, suggesting the C7 convertible's profile will look a lot like its C6 predecessor. And with the new power tonneau cover in place, there are also no rear ducts that come as part of the Z51 package (they've been moved under the car).
As with its predecessor, the tonneau is a handsome double-bubble piece, and the body-color "waterfall" element into the cabin between the seats has made it to the new model as well. Thus, the overall look with the top down should be a bit more familiar to prior-gen C6 owners - if you're one of those put off by the C7's new shape, you'll probably appreciate the convertible bodystyle more than the coupe.
Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars
Tue, Mar 10 2015Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.
