Ok. Here it is. The third gen Camaro everyone wants but nobody has. I've got an 89 Camaro, IROC-Z. This is a TRUE IROC-Z. Not some RS with IROC badges. This is a FACTORY 5.7 liter 350 cubic inch TUNED PORT INJECTION car. AND its a T-TOP CAR! Also has 4-wheel disc brakes! These are incredibly hard to find. If you've spent any time looking for an IROC you already know this. What makes this one even more special? It's ALL ORIGINAL! 100% factory everything. (except the exhaust) Right down to the radio! MATCHING NUMBERS!!! I have pictures off all the body panels with matching VIN tags. Email me if youd like to see them. It had the luxury of being owned by an older woman who DIDN'T ABUSE IT! Never tried to dress it up. Never wanted it to have more power. She just drove it! And she only drove it in the summer months. She bought it in 90' because she loved her husband's. Well eventually he grew up and sold his but she hung on to hers. Until about 10 years ago when she hit the gas to hard and accidentally squeeled the tires in her church parking lot. At which point she parked the car and sadly it was never driven again. It sat covered in the driveway and got started occasionally but never driven. Until about 3 years ago when the fuel pump quit. I bought it 2 years ago. I put a new fuel pump in it but ended up buying another iroc that was already ready to drive. And, well, that's as far as I got. I drained and flushed the fuel tank while it was out as well. The factory exhaust was cut up to remove the tank so I bought an aftermarket flowmaster 3" system that is now installed on it. Sounds good. Not obnoxious or raspy. Nice deep tone. The interior is in nice shape for the year. Needs a steering wheel cover but the dash is in good shape (one crack near the drivers speaker grill) as well as the rest of the plastics. It has the ORIGINAL GM T-TOP BAG IN EXCELLENT SHAPE!!! Has power seat, locks, windows, and hatch. The car does run, but hasn't been driven in years so I would tow it home to be safe. IT DOES RUN AND DRIVE AND YOU CAN TAKE IT FOR A SPIN AT YOUR OWN RISK. IT IS NOT REGISTERED OR INSURED! I put good tires on it as well. rears are cooper cobras and are like new, It has just under 100k original miles which is low for a 24 year old car. It does have some rust starting but no real rot that I noticed. The only soft spot I found was under the drivers floor board where they all do. But if taken care of now shouldn't be to work. Theres also a few small holes where the inner fender meets the rear unibody. Again, take care of it now and should last forever. If your a true camaro enthusiast you know what this cars worth all fixed up. I'm not sugar coating it, this one needs work. I bought it with plans of a complete restoration. As you can see from the pics it needs a paint job, its got the typical 80's clearcoat peel. It has some hail dents that can easily be filled since you have to paint it anyway. And a good mechanical work up but this is THE one everyone wants to start with but can never find! I've got 3 third gen camaro's so this one has to go. This would be a great father-son project or a great winter project for someone looking for a nice cruiser come spring time. I'm willing to trade for a tandem axle dump trailer as well. 7x12 or larger. The bigger the better. Bumper pull or goose neck is fine. I have a 1-ton to pull it. I don't want some rotted out beat up P.O.S. so if that's what ur pedalling don't bother me. If you have a trade you better contact me before someone bids because once they do trades are out. Email call or text 315-271-6455

PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE CASH TO BUY!!! I WOULD PREFER ALL BIDDERS CAME AND LOOKED AT IT IN PERSON BEFORE BIDDING BUT IF YOU CAN'T PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS!!! IF YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER THE CAR IS YOURS!!! BID RESPONSIBLY!!!

Recharge Wrap-up: Phoenix Cars delivers ZEUS to Navy, Volt saves gas compared to i-MiEV

Thu, Apr 23 2015

Phoenix Cars has delivered its first Zero Emissions Utility Shuttle (ZEUS) flatbed truck to the US Navy. The electric flatbed will be used to transport maintenance materials around Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme. The Phoenix ZEUS features a 100-mile range, and can charge in just three hours. It also features vehicle-to-grid technology and direct power capability, allowing it to function as a mobile power station. ZEUS customers enjoy an eight-year/300,000-mile battery warranty and round-the-clock technical support from Phoenix. Phoenix launched an electric passenger shuttle last year, and years ago worked on an electric sport utility truck before shifting over to larger vehicles. Read more in the press release from Phoenix Cars. A man found that he used less gas by trading in his Mitsubishi i-MiEV for a Chevrolet Volt. Ben Rich saved fuel in part by using his Volt for road trips rather than needing to rent cars. Rich also found other benefits to driving a Volt, including more comfort, more freedom of movement and less range anxiety. Rich often had to turn off the heat in the winter to eke out precious miles in the Mitsubishi, which he needn't do in the Chevy, though he did have a gripe about the Volt using the gas motor to warm the car. ChargePoint has tallied over 9 million charging sessions for a total of 65 gigawatt hours of energy. Based on national efficiency averages of three miles per kWh and 23.9 miles per gallon, this has saved 8.2 million gallons of gasoline and 60 million pounds of CO2. This accounts for what ChargePoint calls a "huge environmental impact." Read more in the release from ChargePoint below. The Environmental Impact of ChargePoint Drivers Campbell, Calif.– We all know electric vehicles (EV) have enormous environmental advantages over gas vehicles. Plug-in EVs reduce carbon-based greenhouse gases, improve air quality and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. EV drivers on the ChargePoint network have had a huge environmental impact. With over 9 million charging sessions delivering 65 gigawatt hours of energy, EV drivers have avoided over 60 million pounds of CO2 and 8.2 million gallons of gasoline, and driven over 196 million gas-free miles. *Based on national averages: EV efficiency of 3 miles per kWh, gas efficiency of 23.9 mpg and a net savings of 0.924 pounds of CO2 per kWh.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.  The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
