1989 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc Z Convertible on 2040-cars
Morristown, Arizona, United States
This is a beautiful car! I purchased this car from an elderly gentleman here in Phoenix, AZ. It's a great "daily driver" and a great "road trip" vehicle. I am from Alaska and wouldn't hesitate to drive it back up the Alcan Highway to my home, Homer, Alaska. I've fixed it up and drove it for the past five years. Only reason I'm selling it is "my wife says it's time to downsize" and make room in the garage. I'm gettin' to be an "elderly" person, as well. It has the following: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LOADED WITH ALL THE FACTORY OPTIONS THAT CAME WITH VEHICLE AT THAT TIME POWER WINDOWS POWER LOCKS TILT STEERING WHEEL AIR CONDITIONING RUNS REAL COLD (NEED IT HERE IN ARIZONA) NO MODIFICATIONS DONE TO ENGINE & BODY OR DRIVE LINE AFTER MARKET CD PLAYER SYSTEM....BLAPLUNK STILL HAS FACTORY EMISSIONS FOG LIGHTS NEW CARPETING NEW HIGH QUALITY HARTZ FABRIC TOP WITH GLASS REAR WINDOW INTERIOR EXCELLENT CONDITION ALONG WITH DOOR PANELS AND CONSOLE & DASH THIS IS AN IROC CONVERTIBLE....EXTREMELY RARE....ONLY 3940 CONVERTIBLES BUILT THIS YEAR! YOU CAN COME AND INSPECT AND DRIVE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF WHAT A GREAT CAR THIS IS. ANY QUESTIONS, JUST CALL ME 602-621-1158 ANYTIME. THIS CAR IS LISTED LOCALLY SO WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO WITHDRAW THIS LISTING FROM EBAY. This car is 26 years old. It has scratches and paint problems. At the present time, this is not a show car. It does have a new just installed Hartz convertible top with a glass back window. It has new carpeting, and door panels. It has nice dark cloth seats from a 1997 Camaro. We only accept PayPal for payment. Payment must be FULLY completed before delivery of vehicle. Shipping/transportation/delivery is NOT included with the sale of this vehicle. Cost of shipping/transportation/delivery is the responsibility of the buyer. We are not responsible for any damages once the vehicle is picked up by the shipper or a shipping company. Out of state buyers are responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title service fees in the sate that the vehicle will be registered. I've made every effort to fully describe accurately this vehicle. YOU ARE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE "AS IS". AGAIN!!! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE VEHICLE....GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BIDDING. "DRIVE IT, AND LOVE IT" AS I DID. I'M 71 YEARS OF AGE. ALSO THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN TO ALASKA. Please note that the car may have 166,000 miles. It doesn't drive or look like it. It has been maintained and carefully taken care of. I never cared what the mileage was and actually never thhought to ask the elderly person I bought it from.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. How long will the 'golden age' of performance last?
Sat, Mar 26 2016High-powered sports and luxury cars were everywhere at the New York Auto Show, prompting the obvious question for enthusiasts: How long will this golden age of performance last? Industry leaders have some time before regulations elevate the Corporate Average Fuel Economy level in 2025. Even then, they expect cars rippling with power to survive in some form. "Is it the end of an era," I don't think so," said Ola Kallenius, Daimler AG board member for Mercedes-Benz cars marketing and sales. "That performance element of individual mobility I don't think will ever go away." Kallenius, who oversaw the company's AMG division from 2010-2013, expects it to continue to grow. Last year, AMG sold a record 68,875 units around the world, an increase of 44.6 percent over 2014, with strong growth in the US, China, and Germany. Still, there's always the potential for gas to spike, and pending fuel economy regulations are looming. That could lead AMG to add electrification to its products, Kallenius said, pointing to the electric SLS as a test case. Chevy is also thinking ahead, said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer of the Camaro. He wouldn't bite when asked about electrification for the Camaro (he did say "never say never"), but admitted in 2025 "it's going to be pretty tough to sell V8s." For now, things are rosy for muscle cars, and Chevy confidently showcased the 640-hp Camaro ZL1 in coupe and convertible form in New York. "I think that this is truly the golden age of performance," Oppenheiser said. It's hard to disagree. News & Analysis News: The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF was a show-stopper in New York. Analysis: There was a palpable energy when this RF — for Retractable Fastback — was revealed the night before the show at a trendy off-site venue near the Hudson River. Even as a parade of SUVs and flashy luxury cars rolled out the rest of the week, the Miata remained a hot topic. The Retractable Fastback is really a clever targa top, with part of the roof stowing behind the seats, adding about 100 pounds compared to the standard convertible. It makes the car more practical and arguably more attractive. The RF continues Mazda's tradition of selling the Miata with a hardtop variant. The first and second generations offered a detachable one, and a power retractable hardtop (a $1,700 option) was available on third-gen models. Judging by its reception in New York, the RF could prove to be even more popular than its predecessors.
GM cutting production at two plants
Thu, Feb 26 2015General Motors is continuing to adjust to excess supply of some of its brands' models. To get production more in line with the vehicles' actual demand, the automotive giant is idling two of its factories in North America in the coming months. The Orion Assembly plant is going to be down from March 9-13, according to an anonymous plant worker and another insider speaking to Automotive News. The factory builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, but there are plenty of both models sitting on dealer lots, including 216 days worth of Sonics, according to AN. The factory already had two idle periods announced to reduce the excess. In addition, downtime is scheduled at GM's "Flex" line at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, plant from April 13-17. This affects supply of the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS. Among them, the automotive giant has the largest supply of Regals ready for dealers with 213 days worth of them, according to AN. The future for the whole Oshawa factory is cloudy in general, though. There are rumors that it could close entirely in the future because the Camaro is leaving and the Regal and XTS might not last much longer than 2017. The Canadian government and the labor union there intend to put up a fight, though.
