For sale is a 1989 Camaro in amazing condition. It is a true numbers matching Iroc-z Z28. Vin and codes match up. Numbers matching and original 5.7 350 engine! Very rare to find!!!!
It is all original and has the highly sought after, rare 5.7L 350 V8 Tuned Port engine in it.
Most made had the 305 V8 that always overheats, or the V6. And most today have rebuilt carborated frankenstein engines with high mileage or swapped out engines from other cars.
This is a true survivor of time.
Has only 108,000 ORIGINAL MILES.
Runs mint, i daily drive it. turn key and go.
Does not run hot or overheat.
Recently drove the car to new jersey and back (two and a half hours each way) with no issues.
Has T-TOPS that do not leak.
Original iroc rims with center caps!
4 wheel disk brakes.
Has brand new exhaust that sounds amazing.
New shocks, struts, rods, brakes, alternator, & belt
Completely clean and rust-free underneath the car.
HAS HEAT, AIR CONDITIONING, POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS, SEATS, AND POWER HATCH STILL WORKS! Very hard to find a 3rd gen Camaro with a working power hatch.
Also has original leather T-Top bag in the back as well as a car cover custom made for this car and rubber chevy floor mats.
I am the 3rd owner of the car. Previous owner had it kept in a heated garage and babied the car. I bought it with 80k miles on it.
If you love Camaros and classic cars, then this car is for you. Really fun car. And it's not just a toy, can be an everyday driver also. It is currently my everyday driver and it is super reliable and is a great car. Just like it was back in 1989.
GREAT SUMMER CAR WITH THE T TOPS OFF ON A NICE SUNNY DAY!
*Brand new tires 4/3/13 cost me almost $900! Tires are rated for 180mph and the speedometer goes up to 145mph so tires can withstand high speeds! Tread is perfect.
The car isnt 100% perfect but its better than any other 3rd gen for sale in terms of looks and performance. The car is super reliable. It has the original 5.7 350 engine and the vin and all the rpo codes match up its a real iroc z28 with all the options. I just drove the car to jersey and back 2 and a half hours each way and had no problems. The car drives 100% and is very smooth for a camaro due to new shocks and tires. No rust under the car. The paint is shiny, not dull or faded. Only issue is theres chips in the front mostly on plastic bumpers and a spot on pass side door in middle cant see from far away. On the inside the drivers seat has a tear on the side but its an original power seat. And i took the gray headliner out cause it was sagging a little and i was going to put a black one in. Theres a custom shop in port jeff who will do the headliner for $200, i have his card i can give you. Other than that the interior is great. The power hatch, windows, mirrors, locks all work. The rims are the factory iroc rims and still have the center caps. If it wasnt for these little things then i would be selling for a lot more money. it's a steal at this price. If you are really serious about the car please give me a call or text me. Thank you.

GM, Pilot will build EVgo fast chargers at 500 truck stops across U.S.
Thu, Jul 14 2022All of our maps showing electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. are going to need an update. Today, General Motors, Pilot and EVgo announced plans to work together on a nationwide DC fast charging network. The plan calls for 2,000 charging stalls that can deliver up to 350 kW to be installed at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers in the U.S. The goal is to have DC fast chargers available in 50-mile intervals across the country. The new charging stations will feature GM's "Ultium Charge 360" branding and "Pilot Flying J" logos but will not be limited to drivers of GM EVs. The plugs will use CCS connectors and be available to anyone. GM EV owners can take advantage of benefits, including the ability to make exclusive reservations, get discounts on charging costs and streamline the charging process with Plug and Charge and in-vehicle apps that can provide real-time charger availability. The first installation phase will take place in 2023, and "the bulk of the installations" should be completed by 2025, EVgo CEO Kathy Zoi said during a conference call with reporters announcing the plan. "We're gonna get going immediately and commence all of that engineering and planning stuff," she said. "We've got a pretty orderly plan." Pilot CEO Shameek Konar said the company expects the new EV charging stations to coexist with the current fuel infrastructure. "An average Pilot Flying J location is about 10 acres," Konar said. "This will be in addition to all of our gas pumps. The way I think about it is, this is a new source of energy that is going to coexist with gas for quite some time. We can debate how long, but we need to serve both groups of customers." Installing DC fast chargers at hundreds of Pilot's travel centers — aka truck stops — means there should be food, drinks, restrooms, WiFi and even showers available while you wait for an EV to charge. Pilot recently announced its “New Horizons” plan that will invest $1 billion in upgrading Pilot travel centers with more premium amenities, including expanded seating and lounge areas. While the exact amount of time it will take to charge an EV using these new stations will vary on the EV and its current state of charge, most EVs can refill from a low state of charge to around 80 percent in 20-30 minutes on a fast charger. The new stations are future-proofed to deliver up to 350 kW, a charge rate that few EVs today can handle.
Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test
Tue, Oct 25 2016The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
EcoCar2 is on the hunt for a better, cleaner Chevy Malibu [w/video]
Thu, Jun 12 2014The students spent three years transforming an ordinary Chevy Malibu into a revolutionary vehicle. Not far from the building where General Motors once invented the Chevy Volt, a dozen or so college students are standing on the blacktop alongside a test track, watching a professional driver push the limits of a plug-in hybrid car they've built that's far more radical. These students, from Colorado State University, have spent the past three years transforming an ordinary Chevy Malibu into a revolutionary vehicle. At first glance, it still looks like a regular sedan. But under the hood, they've installed a hybrid powertrain that contains both hydrogen and electric power sources. Even by the standards of the Department of Energy competition they're participating in, it's an outlier. That's exactly what they had in mind. "We didn't want to come here and tell them how to build a better Volt," said Tom Bradley, faculty adviser for the Colorado State team. "They already know how to do that. We can tell them how to think about these possibilities in a whole new way." After three years of work, it all comes down to this. The Colorado State team was one of 15 that came to GM's Milford Proving Grounds last week for the final stretch of the EcoCar2 competition, which challenges regular college students who have no automotive experience to do nothing less than reinvent the American car. The teams have come from across North America, and include schools like Ohio State and Virginia Tech that have a long history of participating in similar competitions, and schools like the University of Washington and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University that are here for the first time. After three years of work, it all comes down to this. The teams have operated 24 hours a day for almost two weeks here at the Proving Grounds, running a gamut of tests that include a 310-point safety inspection, emissions and energy-consumption tests and road tests, in which professional GM drivers ensure they're road worthy. The winning team will be announced tonight in Washington D.C. Revolutionary cars, ordinary package While other green-car competitions encourage extreme designs, this one comes with a somewhat constraining twist: Yes, students must improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, but in the end, they still have to have a car that would appeal to mainstream customers. In practical terms, that means they must keep conveniences like air conditioning and trunk space.
