1986 Iroc-z28 Camaro on 2040-cars
Ennis, Texas, United States
This is a 1986 IROC-Z28 CAMARO,with iroc handling package.305 v8 carb. Although this is a base Iroc-Z........IT IS AN IROC-Z28! I could sit here and B.S. you about this Camaro, but I won't. Parents need a new roof before it leaks and ins.won't provide. So,I have to sell it to help them.I've had a ton of work done to make it a daily/weekend cruiser.WHAT THE CAR NEEDS IS PAINT,but it is rust free and no dents or dings. A new ELECTRONIC CHOKE,just have to pump pedal first thing n the morning, other than that it starts up,no pump.A.C.CLUTCH,which was barely working last week, but was cold.DASH PAD,old one is cracked up.INSTRUMENT PANEL is bad and needs repair or replace, repair is $250,and can find new/used from $200-$350.There are a few minor things that will go with painting, like decals and stripes.Mechanically it runs pretty dang good. It's completely original except silver/black paint.Originally it was dark red(burgandy),but I kinda like silver and blk scheme.I'm comfortable selling this car to someone and my asking price, cause overall it won't take much to fully restore it. LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY IN STATE OF TEXAS OR SOUTHERN OK.IF BUYER WANTS SHIPPING,BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING,BUYER AND SELLER WILL DETERMINE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.
GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.
