***RELISTED THANKS TO A POS BIDDER****if you have less than 5 feedbacks and dont contact me i will cancel your bid!! i need this gone and dont have time for games***1986 Camaro street or strip project car. this was a running driving car a few weeks ago, i pulled the drivetrain, wheels, fuel system and ignition system for another car. selling the chassis as a roller.(its set up for a SBC and TH350 trans) the body is very nice, its a hardtop, its straight and rust free. it has a Ford 9" rear end with 3.55 gears and a posi. It has boxed lower control arms, drag shocks, adjustable panhard bar. i will sell the rear suspension and rear end by themselves if the car doesnt sell as it sits. it has subframe connectors, extra frame bracing and custom crossmember for a TH350 trans. the exhaust consists of hedman headers and true dual 3" exhaust. the collectors need to be welded on the exhaust because i swapped headers and then decided to build a different car before finishing hooking it up. the car is set up with a fuel cell in the back (not stock gas tank but couple put stock tank it without too much sheet metal work). the interior has a nicely done 10 point cage,Grant wheel, 2 kirkey alum seats, simpson harnesses, full set of auto meter gauges. the rest of the interior is just plain metal that has been rhino lined (or something like it anyway), i was going to buy and install a carpet and interior trim but never got around to it. the car comes with the radiator, electric fan, driveshaft, and all the misc odds and ends needed to put it back together. ***again, there is no fuel or ignition systems included, no engine or trans/shifter, and the wheels shown do not go with it,*** i will put on some stock wheels to roll it around. it has clear paperwork and it drove down the road nicely. the hood is a fiberglass lift off cowl that is cut out for a blower, could be patched easily enough. i will give this one shot to sell it whole, if it doesnt sell i will be parting it out here on ebay. must be paid in full within 3 days and should be picked up within 2 weeks. photo IMG_5834_zps05eccce8.jpg

8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.

2015 Chevy Volt gets larger battery, though range remains the same

Sat, Jul 19 2014

The Chevrolet Volt isn't changing much for the 2015 model year. According to specifications uncovered by Inside EVs, though, the new Volt's battery does have a slightly larger capacity. According to the spec sheet, this doesn't translate to increased range. Real world driving, though, might tell a different story. The 2015 Volt's battery storage is slightly higher than the outgoing model's, up from 16.5 kilowatt-hours to 17.1 kWh. According to GM's manager of electrification technology communications, Kevin Kelly, speaking to Green Car Reports, the increased capacity is "a late change done in the cell... just another continuous improvement to surprise and delight our customers." The stated electric range, however, stays at 38 miles. Inside EVs followed up on its original report, and found that drivers could see some advantage to the battery tweak. When they spoke to Kelly, he told them, "As a result of this change, we would expect that some customers may see a slight improvement in overall EV range." It's worth noting that when battery capacity increased from 16 kWh to 16.5 kWh for the 2013 Volt, electric range increased by three miles to the current 38, while MPGe went from 94 to 98. The price of the 2015 Chevrolet Volt remains steady, at $34,995. The actual cost to the customer is considerably less with the $7,500 federal tax credit, as well as any local incentives.

Chevy up to old EVs-equal-range-anxiety tricks in new Volt Olympics ad

Fri, Feb 14 2014

General Motors is at it again with a new Chevrolet Volt TV commercial. Viewers of the Winter Olymics (at least in some markets) recently saw a TV ad in between the skating and the skiing that made no mention of the environmental benefits or freedom from the power of Big Oil that electric vehicles provide. No, this one was based on pure survival instinct. In the video, a father is driving down a highway, perhaps through the Mojave Desert. His young son is sitting in the Volt's backseat and asks what happens when the EV's battery runs out. "We'll have to cross that burning desert with snakes and cactus until we make it back to civilization," the dad tells his son as they pass the skeleton of a fallen bull. The fine print makes it clear that the actual maximum range is 342 miles. But there is hope. The father tells his son, with a beaming smile on his face, that the gas generator has kicked in and they're going to make it through the desert. As they wend their way to the horizon, a voice over says that Volt drivers who charge up regularly are making it 900 miles between fill ups. The fine print makes it clear that the actual official maximum range before you need to either plug in or fill up is 342 miles. This theme that emphasized range anxiety has been utilized by GM since the extended range Volt was launched in late 2010, despite the fact that Chevrolet now offers an all-electric vehicle in the Spark EV. Volt fans are praising the commercial, called The New Freedom, on the GM-Volt forum and you can see for yourself below. This content is hosted by a third party.
