Ok,up for bidding is my 85 Iroc-Z..it is all original other than the paint, tires, battery, carpet, headliner and stereo..it was recently re painted and was done right..doors were removed, all interior removed..etc.. Basically the complete car was taken apart other than drivetrain, painted
in pieces and re assembled with some new parts that needed replaced..things that were replaced are as follows.
Door to window weatherstripping.(window sweeps)
Front windshield(safelite)
Trunk/hatch seal(lone star)
Exterior door handles.(a+auto)
Carpet(acc auto carpets)
Headliner(installed the new style ABS plastic backing board and reupholstered in factory correct material)(acme brand) the rear speaker covers were also reupholstered in the same material
Tires..245/50/16 (falkens)
Wheel centercaps( GM licensed parts)
Parking light housings(brand new GM parts)
Fog light grill(brand new GM part)
Door hinge bushings,rollers and pins(hawks 3rd gen)
That's all that had to be replaced, everything else was still in great condition and just needed cleaning..
Re assembly was done very carefully and put back to all factory specs. The power drivers seat works in all 6 positions and both front seats still even have the plastic covers that Chevrolet added to cover the ugly metal seat tracks. The doors open and close beautifully..just like they were when the car was new.
The rear window louvers I was told were original to the car too but I do not see them included on the window sticker or the invoice so I don't know for sure if they were or not..they come with the car regardless and can easily be removed if you don't like them.
I have the clean carfax report on the car that was done on 4/10/2014..it has been a Florida car it's entire life and it shows..I also have the dealership invoice and window sticker for the car so anyone can see that this is a true legitimate Iroc-Z and not just any car wrapped in stickers and badges..it is not showroom condition underneath but is very clean and rust free..still sports the original exhaust system and catalytic converter..just had a synthetic oil change, all suspension greased and brakes gone through..one of the wheel cylinders were leaking so they were both replaced..has the original Iroc aluminum drums on the rear brakes.
The original wheels are in great shape with very minor scrapes on the lip of one front..none are cracked or bent..
The interior as you can see in the pics is almost absolutely perfect..the front seatbelts are a little dirty and there are 2 very small cracks in the plastic stitching on the driver side..not too bad for a nearly 30 year old car..
The dash pad is in excellent condition with no visible cracks..(there is one small crack just behind the windshield on the driver side that is not even noticeable..if anyone wants to see a pic of this crack I will gladly add a photo of it.
All options the car came with can be seen in the pic of the dealer invoice I have attached and everything it came with is still on/in the car and in working condition except the factory floor mats..those are long gone..
The bad on this car..it has the notorious chevrolet puff of smoke at start up from bad valve seals..car has been stored quite awhile and thus causing the seals to dry out and most likely break..the power mirrors are not working,I am assuming the control switch is bad..and the air conditioning works but when it is running the compressor clutch constantly runs engaged..it does not cycle on and off like it's designed to do..not sure if this can really be classified as a (bad) thing since it is in working condition and blows super cold, just want all information disclosed that I am aware of.
One thing it could probably use besides the valve seals is new front sway bar bushings..they look pretty worn and sloppy..I have a new set that will be included with the car..I may even put them on the car if my time permits..
And lastly, the power antenna does not go down..
Other than that, everything seems fine with the car,the engine is very strong and responsive..the transmission shifts smooth..and the car handles awesome!!
Also has the original spare tire with the jack and the inflator can for the spacesaver spare tire.
I am selling this car to build a convertible camaro that I had to have..otherwise I would just keep it hidden in my garage and drive it occasionally.Unfortunately I don't have room to keep them both.
Car will come with the history report, the dealer invoice, the window sticker, owners manual and the sales brochure booklet.
Here is some of the history I found on the rarity of the color..this information I obtained from The iroc zone..it is a website dedicated to documentation and just for enghusiasts of these cars.
1985 was the introduction year of the iroc-z and was also the introduction year of the 215 hp. tuned port injection engine..of all 21,177 Irocs produced in its first year only around 3,000 of them were painted in the code 50 yellow.
This is everything I can think of that I know about the car so,as always, feel free to ask any questions and I will get them answered ASAP..if you want to talk to me one on one just message me a name, number and best time to call. Thank you

forgot to mention...the windshield wiper motor cover is missing in the pics shown but I have a new one that I will be installing on the car.

On May-06-14 at 18:15:23 PDT, seller added the following information:

I just want to add some info here..I didn't prepare this listing very well and I apologize for  adding the info now,but I cannot make edits on the mobile app so had to wait until I could do it from home pc....like I said to begin with,I want to disclose everything I know about the car.If I would have known there would be this much activity on the listing this early I would have spent more time proofreading it and taken notes before posting..here are the things I want to mention.

The check engine light is on when the car is running..I have ran the self test check and it is giving code 32(which is EGR) it doesn't affect the performance of the car and runs just fine with zero issues..I have a feeling the EGR valve may be plugged..again,there are no issues with the operation of the car in any way, just want this known to everyone interested in the car..
the other thing is the tachometer and oil pressure gauges are working but they are not reading accurately..the oil pressure reads around 55 psi at idle and pegs out all the way to the right when you tap the throttle pedal..  I do not believe this is accurate..I think it is actually supposed to read at about 35 psi at idle...the tach is reading around 2500rpm at idle and also pegs out all the way to the right when I hit the throttle pedal....that is way off,the engine idles at 700rpm,not 2500!!..I am not 100% certain but possibile causes are the oil pressure sending unit or the gauge itself on the oil pressure gauge and on the tach, possible issue is either the tach filter that is on the firewall next to the distributor or the tach itself has an issue..I am going to try and locate another tach filter tomorrow and see if that fixes the misreading and also will be installing a new oil pressure sensor.
the other thing is I thought the odometer read 43,580 when I first listed the car but it actually reads 43,539 at this time..it is only a 5 digit odometer so I am thinking the actual mileage is 143,539..I don't think it caould be any higher than that considering the car still has the factory exhaust and catalytic converter, and also just because of the overall condition of everything including the original aluminum brake drums and all original appearing suspension..

On May-07-14 at 16:11:17 PDT, seller added the following information:

Hi,just adding an update for everyone that is interested and have been watching this...I tried the new tach filter and oil pressure switch today and no luck, the oil pressure gauge and tachometer are still reading higher than they should be..so looks like some attention to the gauge cluster itself will be required if it bothers the new owner that they do not read accurately..the battery, fuel and temp gauges all seem to be reading accurately..
And also, the sway bar links I mentioned are now replaced with energy suspension polyurethane pieces.

Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.

Next-gen Chevy Volt will get 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine

Tue, Oct 28 2014

As General Motors gets ready to unveil the new Chevy Volt at the Detroit Auto Show in January, it's starting to reveal a few more details about the updated plug-in hybrid. Today should be fruitful on that front, thanks to an event GM is hosting today that focuses on the new Volt, and we've just had the first bit of new: a bigger engine is coming. Since the beginning, the Volt has used a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine as a range extender when the battery runs dry. The second-generation model will instead get a slightly larger 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that will be built in Flint, MI. That's a step up from the various engines that have been a part of the 2016 Volt's rumored mills, everything from a 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter three-cylinder to a 2.0-liter turbo. The confirmation about the new 1.5-liter powerplant was found in Automotive News, where we also heard again that GM is going to start building the new Volt's electric drive unit in Detroit, moving production up from Mexico. We will have more information on the 2016 Chevy Volt later today.

Cadillac Celestiq, Lyriq, Hummer, other future GM electric cars: Here's everything we saw at ‘EV Day’

Wed, Mar 4 2020

WARREN, Mich. — Today, General Motors held an “EV Day” event at its Warren, Michigan, campus to present its new “Ultium” battery technology, modular electric vehicle architecture and soon-to-come electric vehicles. Unfortunately, we were forbidden from bringing cameras into the event, so while we canÂ’t show you what we saw, we can tell you more about it. While we saw the previously teased Cadillac EV (which we now know to be called the Lyriq) and the GMC Hummer pickup teased during the Super Bowl, there were a number of other future cars at the event, which GM President Mark Reuss assured us are all real vehicles in the works. The biggest surprise came at the end of the event, though, in the Cadillac Celestiq electric sedan, which Reuss described as a future flagship that would be hand-built “very locally.” It had been hiding under a dark sheet all morning, with the front and rear illuminated Cadillac emblems shining from underneath. When the wraps came off, we saw a long, white, four-seat fastback sedan. The 23-inch wheels were pushed out to the very corners of the car, giving it what appeared to be a very long wheelbase. The model on the stage had no side mirrors or visible door handles. The grille mirrored that of the Lyriq crossover next to it, with integrated lighting in lieu of the usual mesh or slats youÂ’d see in an internal combustion car. The entire roof, all the way until it tapered to the tail of the vehicle, was tinted glass. In back, vertical tail lighting ran down the C-pillar before turning rearward across the top of the trunk. Inside, everything below the beltline of the windows — essentially all but the headrests and top portion of the steering wheel, was hidden from view. Behind the Celestiq, a large digital display showed a rendering of its interior. The dash consists of a pillar-to-pillar curved LED display serving as both instrument panel and infotainment system. Protruding forward between the front seats was another touchscreen that appeared to house some more controls, with open area, probably for storage, below it. The rear seats had the same sort of touchscreen between them. Built into the back of the front seats were a pair of rear-seat entertainment screens, much like we saw in the Lyriq. The door panels blended wood, metal and animated lighting to give character and a sense of opulence. GM interior design manager Tristan Murphy was on hand to tell us a bit more about the Celestiq.
