This is a 1983 Guldstrand GSS Camaro, modified new by legendary race car driver Dick Guldstrand at Guldstrand Motorsports.  This is one of a handful ever made. I will do the best to tell you ever detail about this car that we (Guldstrand and I) have uncovered thus far. This car is in the process of being documented, and at the time of final sale will include a certificate of authenticity from Guldstrand Motorsports ensuring this car is the real thing. I have been in contact with Guldstrand, and have been informed this was the only Camaro they built that was sold new at Berger Chevrolet, near me in Grand Rapids, MI. These cars were available from mild to wild. Two press cars were fitted with superchargers, several with the stock 305 4bbl, and 2 with a 350 cubic inch GM crate engine. The best info I can find says this engine was rated at 249HP/329FT/LB. It still has the "HENCHO EN MEXICO" 4 bolt crate engine in the car, with the correct original 83 aluminum 4bbl intake manifold. This car was in the process of being converted to an automatic transmission, which is sitting in the car now. The clutch pedal, and cable are still in place. It is also fitted with the correct originally equipped EPSILON 15x8 mesh wheels, and I have all 4 centercaps as well. It is also equipped with a GM Performance parts 140 speedometer originally, which is retains. The primary mod, and claim to fame on these cars were the suspension modifications, which Guldstrand Motorsports is most known for. This car has all urethane bushings through out, from new, and retains them. These were tested and pulled .94g on the skidpad. Truly amazing, and rare, and in my opinion worthy of a restoration.

This is a non running car, I do not know if the engine will run or not. There is some rust through the floorboard on the driver side, under the pedals. There is also a spot on the drivers A pillar, and above the drivers door. I have included pictures of these spots. I am selling this car as needing a full restoration, and it is not currently drive-able, but can be rolled on to trailer. I've rescued it, but cannot afford to restore it, and would hate to see it hot rodded because it is, to the best information I can find, the only 1983 Guldstrand Camaro that is known to still exist. All of the parts to restore the suspension are still available from Guldstrand, right off the shelf. Any questions, ask, and I will do my best to answer them, and as stated, when you take delivery this car will include a certificate of authenticity. The car is worth $1500 in parts quite easily, but as I said, I would like to see it restored and maintained, because it is a true piece of Camaro history, and one of, if not the rarest 3rd generation camaro.

MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon

Sat, Jun 20 2015

MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.

Chevy, Kid Rock in Confederate flag row with civil rights group

Mon, Jul 13 2015

Two of Detroit's own are ensnared in controversy today. In an interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly, mulleted musician Kid Rock told those protesting the Confederate Battle Flag to "kiss my ass." Now, Chevrolet, which is sponsoring Rock's summer concert tour, is under fire for its support. "We are committed to our sponsorship of Kid Rock's summer tour and are confident that he will provide his fans, many of whom are proud Chevrolet owners, with a spectacular concert experience that celebrates American Freedom," a Chevy spokesperson told The Detroit Free Press last week. The company also uses the Kid Rock anthem Born Free in its pickup truck advertising. The company's position is not sitting well with the Detroit chapter of the National Action Network, though, which has called on GM to pull its support for the embattled artist. "It's obvious to us that, by supporting [Rock], while he's making inflammatory statements, General Motors becomes an accomplice if they allow him their support to stand behind his statements," the Rev. Charles Williams II, NAN's Detroit chapter director, told the Freep. As controversial as Rock's comments are, it's not entirely clear when the last time he actually waved that flag was. The Freep reports that several concertgoers don't recall seeing the flag during his most recent tour, or even over the last few years of concerts. In a 2002 interview with the paper, Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, said that the flag had been used as a symbol of southern rock and a rebel spirit, saying: "It's not about hatred or being a racist. I like Southern rock music, and a lot of people died under that flag for beliefs they had, right or wrong. But it stands for rebel, and my love of Southern rock." Related Video:

Petrolicious profiles one man and his duo of '64 Impalas

Wed, Jul 1 2015

Restoring any vintage car is a labor of love. In the end, the investment of time and money is often more than the vehicle is realistically worth on the open market. Deciding to take all of that work on yourself doesn't make things any easier, but it can only increase your connection to the project. Don Rogers, the subject of the latest video from Petrolicious, shows this passion perfectly with his duo of 1964 Chevrolet Impalas – a hardtop and convertible. Both of these Chevys had been sitting for years before Rogers got his talented hands on them, and he did all of the work himself. Now, driving the pair is therapy for him, and he's not worried about anything breaking because he knows he can put it back together. Rogers says he enjoys wrenching on his vehicles even more than going to shows. Doing your own work comes with advantages, like tailoring a project's look to your preferences. It's not original, but Rogers used the crimson interior color from a '59 Impala on his convertible to make the interior pop with the top down. Rogers is undoubtedly a talented builder, and his work is worth checking out in the latest from Petrolicious. Related Video:
