1982 Z28 Indy Pace Car J65 - 22K miles

This is a one owner car - has only 22700 miles and the J65 front and rear disc brake package. Only 614 cars rolled out

in 82 with the J65 option and not many remain.  This car has been gone thru and repainted with original decals, interior

has new carpet, new seat covers, new headliner, new door panels and all plastic was dyed the original blue.  A 7 dim radio was

installed for good tunes with a custom dash to accommodate it.  Since the car sat for 20 years we had to install a new gas tank and sender.

The all original 305 crossfire then fired right up. It still has all of the original decals and markings.  The Suspension was completely gone thru

with new slotted discs, lower springs to give it the correct stance, HD pan bar and link arms, all new struts and shocks. New BFGs staggered on

reconditioned wheels. It received all new T Top weather-stripping and door trim. Everything works on it. AC system was never touched and likely will

need to be charged if one wants to use it.  Car is not perfect, the dash pad does not match the year and was only meant to be temporary until the correct

year could be found.  There are small details that need to be finished, paint needs buff, tranny pan gasket needs replaced, one window switch is a problem,

they are both new, one sticks.  Little things, just needs someone with time to wrap it up. I'm to busy and moving on to other projects / life.  Its a great car and

I have plugged in a super low reserve to let it go.  I have a appraisal of 16K and I'm no where near that.  Car will be ready for pick up, will have to be trailers

not currently licensed - no plates  - buyer to set up transport.

Clear title - I have a bunch of spare part to go with it - (will fit in car, nothing large) - and a bunch of collectable items, window sticker - original title for first owner

pit passes - Art - The 82 Indy 500 Magazine.   Great piece of Camaro History and a true survivor!

Good luck and that for looking.

1 in 7 Americans say they might buy an EV next, as sales of electrics surge

Wed, Apr 26 2017

About one in seven driving Americans may likely purchase an electric vehicle as their next car, according to an AAA poll, meaning that as many as 30 million Americans may pony up for an EV within the next three to five years. While some of the motivation is environmental, survey recipients say that lower maintenance expenses and solo access to high-occupancy-vehicle lanes are also among the factors behind potentially going electric. Take a look at the AAA press release on the study here. The poll indicates that about as many people are planning to buy an EV for their next car as are looking to buy a pickup, which is impressive given that the best-selling US vehicle is the Ford F-150. And things should only improve, as about 20 percent of millennials polled said that their next car would probably be an EV. The results are all the more encouraging, at least among green-car advocates, because gas prices have fallen about 40 percent within the past five years, meaning that there's less of an incentive to go electric from a purely economic perspective. Through the first quarter of this year, US plug-in vehicle sales were up about 63 percent from a year earlier to about 39,000 vehicles. Meanwhile, when it came to AAA's annual green-vehicle awards for this year, Tesla's Model S and Model X took the large car and SUV categories, respectively, while the Chevrolet Bolt and Volkswagen e-Golf were listed atop the subcompact and compact lists. The Lexus GS 450h hybrid and the Ford F-150 took home AAA's best green vehicle in the midsize and pickup truck categories. Related Video:

Chevy's latest Silverado videos assume we're idiots

Mon, Jul 6 2015

UPDATE: This article has been revised to reflect that any mention of materials used in a future Chevrolet Silverado is speculation. Can we have a sound, rational debate about the merits of aluminum versus steel? According to Chevrolet's latest marketing videos pitting the Silverado against the Ford F-150, the answer is no. The tone of all three ads is almost Orwellian: steel good, aluminum bad. Of course, this will all be a hilarious joke when an aluminum-bodied Silverado comes in 2018. That's an if, as a member of the General Motor public relations team has reminded me that any articles regarding future product are pure speculation. Until then Chevy needs to sell the current Silverado, with its body comprised chiefly of steel, against the Ford F-150's lightweight aluminum panels. Instead of touting the merits of the "most-dependable, longest lasting pickup," the strategy seems to center around negative propaganda towards the 13th element. The tone of all three ads is almost Orwellian: steel good, aluminum bad. Of the three videos, the most fair is Silverado vs. F-150 Repair Costs and Time: Howie Long Head to Head. Basically: aluminum costs more than steel, it's more difficult to repair, and requires special equipment for body shops. In terms of Chevy versus Ford, the blue oval truck costs more and takes longer to repair - an average of $1,755 more and 34 more days in the shop, according to the ad. But why stop there when you can have pitchman Howie Long raising an eyebrow at random facts? When Silverado Chief Engineer Eric Stanczak says of the Ford, "It's manufactured in a way that combines aluminum, rivets, and adhesive in a process that's different than Silverado." Long responds, "Huh. Interesting." At the end of the video, Long says "I'd be interested to know what happens to insurance costs." Note he's not saying anything substantive. If Chevy's legal team could sign off on some facts about insurance rates, it would be in this ad. On our Autoblog Cost to Own calculator, there is no significant difference in projected insurance costs between the two trucks. But at least that ad has facts. The other two videos are pure hype. In Cages: High Stength Steel, real people are asked what they think of aluminum and steel in a room with two cages. Then a bear is released into the room, and the subjects scurry to the safety of the steel cage.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
