This is a 1981 Z28 Camero I am posting this for my Uncle. I will try to post everything I can as accurate as I can. I know there may be several things I will leave out not knowing everything about the car. To start off with the car has not been washed due to the cold weather we have had so I took the pictures as the car looked today. I will start off with the paperwork on the car. There is many receipts on the car. From what I understand there is $18,000 invested in the car. The car has a ZZ383 stroker 425 hp engine that was purchased at the dealership. The cost of the motor was $6753.33 I will give a break down on a lot of parts at the end of me running my mouth. The engine has 17,000 miles on it and the car has 99,370 original miles. Has a TH350 tranny that was rebuilt 1000 miles ago. This is a factory A/C car. Interior is in great shape. All looks close to new from what I see. The T-tops has a little paint coming off as seen in the pictures. ( T-TOPS HAS THE COVERS) The one on the driver side has a small leak in the front corner. The motor has a small oil leak coming from the rear. Maybe the oil pan gasket, Not real sure. He said it didn't have no leaks 2 months ago. The car has only had 5000 miles put on it in 5 years so I would say the gasket is dried up. Pretty common for a motor when one just sits around. The motor however does not use any oil at all. No smoke, No issues other than the oil leak that I could see. Car has a clean and clear title. This is a no rust car. I looked all over this car and did not see any rust. The paint has a few issues starting to appear under hood and other places. I tried to get a photo of what I seen. The car is kept in the garage and not exposed to the outside elements. You can call him for more info on the car. His number is 404-557-2985 ask for Tony and we are on EST so please keep that in mind when you call him. Here is a break down of what I see on the paperwork.

ZZ383/425 serial number 39002799 SC7684
Demon 750 carb VAC electric choke and Demon fuel line
S/S converter with 28-3200 stall
plugs wires dist. cap
master cylinder and brake booster
fuel pump hoses fittings temp sensor alternator belts breather caps water neck
Gm aluminum intake
Possi trac Eaton carrier 342 ring gear and pinion new axles yoke kit etc. Everything for the year totaled $1556.94
Sending unit in gas tank installed at dealership

This list goes on and on. You get the idea. Just trying to show what has been done to the car. I'm not going to list every little piece on the paper work.. I do reserve the right to the the auction early as it is listed locally. Good luck and happy bidding.

1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won. Sunday Drive: Taking a gaze into the automotive crystal ball

Sun, Oct 22 2017

Mankind has long been fascinated by the future. So it makes sense that this past week's top stories were all about cars, trucks, and SUVs that won't be hitting the market until the 2019 model year. And right at the top of the list is the Ram 1500. We've come to know Ram as the truck maker that styles its pickups with cues cribbed from big rigs, but that look has slowly evolved over time into something uniquely its own. The next Ram 1500 continues this trend, with a newly refined look that we can't wait to see in person. Up next is the 2019 Chevy Silverado. Pickup trucks have been, continue to be, and will remain the best-selling vehicles in America. And General Motors is a leader in the field, with two distinct offerings with which to entice buyers, one from the bread-and-butter Chevrolet brand and one wearing the slightly more upscale GMC badge. The Chevy looks to get LED lighting elements for 2019, which ought to keep the truck from looking dated when compared to the Ford F-150 and the previously mentioned Ram 1500. From there we move past pickup trucks and into SUVs and sedans. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee looks to get toned down a bit with its next refresh, and the '19 BMW 3 Series continues its slow evolutionary journey at the top of its aspirational sales pedestal. Finally, spy shots give way to official production reveals for the 2019 Audi A7 and Polestar 1. This pair of European luxury cars won't compete with one another – one is a rakish hatchback and the other a sports coupe – any further than for the eyeballs of our readers, but both proved popular enough to merit inclusion in our weekly roundup. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Ram 1500 spotted without the classic crosshairs 2019 Chevy Silverado spied with new LED accents 2019 Jeep Cherokee reveals a much more normal face 2019 BMW 3 Series spy shots reveal production lights, new interior details 2019 Audi A7 revealed: More torque, refined styling Polestar 1 First Look | The 600 horsepower hybrid Scandinavian Green Audi BMW Chevrolet Jeep RAM Volvo Truck Hatchback SUV Future Vehicles Hybrid Luxury Performance Sedan sunday drive polestar 1

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
