1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
This is a rust free, solid car. This car always starts and runs cool. 5.7 SB 350, posi, Hurst Dual Gate Automatic Shifter. The car went through a complete restoration in the early 90's. This car is a great driver or a candidate for complete original over hall if chosen. This is a true Z28 car. I have the original build sheet and complete original dealer documentation, including original dealer delivery brochure. This car reached Kenosha, WI from Norwood on Jan. 24th 1978, 10 miles on vehicle at time of delivery. The car was rebuilt and restored at its 100K mile mark. Now the mileage is at 27K. A complete Interior overhall is finished. It has been repainted. The paint is in good condition, but is not a showroom top class level. There are a few chips here and there, but overall is very presentable. The body is straight and has good lines. The underbody is beautiful and clean. No rust present at this time. The engine is mostly stock with exception of Edelbrok Intake, Headers, Holly Carb, and hydraulic Lifters and mild Cam. I have the receipts of all engine work and most if not all of interior and suspension/steering work that was done. The suspension has been completely gone through at the time of rebuild. The AC is there but compressor needs to be rebuilt. It is missing the original "Z28" emblems for the front and gas door. After =-market stereo with IPOD connection.  The car does have the original taillights for the year 1978. The original spare and tools are still in the trunk. Some of the options included from the factory in this car is:
Electric Windows, Rear Defogger, AC, RR Spoiler, 3SPD CBC Trans, Tilt Steer, Electric Clock, Stereo Radio, AUX light GRP, Z28 SPEC PREF PAC
Some Codes off build sheet:
Axel: 2PY , ENG: CHC, TRANS: 5TM, MODEL: 1FQ87

The bad:
Could use new shocks all the way around, Could use sway bar bushings, The choke is not hooked up on the Holly carb, Could use one Idler Arm

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks!

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

Peter Max staring down $1M lawsuit over Corvette collection sale

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Pop artist Peter Max recently sold off his collection of 36 vintage Chevrolet Corvettes – one each from 1953 to 1989 – for an undisclosed amount. The new owners have already announced plans to restore some of them and auction the models off sometime soon. Up until then, the sports cars had been languishing in various garages around New York City for decades and were caked in dust and grime. However, Max's end of the transaction has just become more complicated, because two men are suing the artist claiming he employed them to complete the deal first. The men allege that Max hired them to broker the sale of the 36 Corvettes in exchange for a 10-percent commission, according to the New York Post. They claim to have emails and text messages proving the existence of the deal, and are taking Max to court for $1 million over the squabble. The collection of Corvettes was amassed in 1989 as part of a prize package from the television network VH1, and Max bought the cars from the winner intending on using them for an art project. He never got around to it, though, and parked the sports cars around New York, until he finally sold them over the summer.

First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Sells For One Million Dollars

Mon, Apr 14 2014

NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick loves buying first-built Chevrolet models for charity. He paid $1 million to buy the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible and $650,000 to get the first 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28. Hendrick's latest purchase happened at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach where he got into a bidding war to pay $1 million to get the first 2015 Corvette Z06. The bidding came quick with the car reaching $100,000 within 3 seconds and hitting $500,000 in about 35 seconds. The money from the sale was donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
