ATTENTION, YOU ARE BIDDING ON THIS PAIR OF CAMAROS. YOU BUY ONE YOU BUY BOTH. THE 1973 IS A 1 OWNER CAR THAT I HAVE ALL OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION. THIS CAR HAS EXTENSIVE RUST THROUGHOUT THE CAR. WITH IT WILL COME 2 EXTRA DOOR SHELLS AND 1/4 PANEL ROCKER COMBINATIONS. THESE ARE OFF OF A 1979 TRANSAM AND I WAS TOLD IT IS ALL THE SAME SHEETMETAL. I MIGHT BE ABLE TO PUT MY HANDS ON AN ADDITIONAL HOOD FOR $175.00, HOWEVER I DO NOT THINK IT IS NEEDED. THE RADIATOR AND CARBURATOR HAVE BEEN REMOVED FOR THE START OF A"BACKYARD" RESTORATION THAT NEVER TRANSPIRED. I HAVE THE CARBURATOR BUT I DO NOT HAVE THE RADIATOR. THE A/C CONDESOR IS STILL MOUNTED. THE 1984 Z-28 IS A RATHER RARE COMBINATION BEING Z-28 WITH T-TOPS AND 5 SPEED. THE BODY IS EXTREMELY STRAIGHT AND SOLID. IT HAS AN UNKNOWN "HOTROD" MOTOR IN IT AND THE THE ONLY THING KEEPING IT FROM RUNNING IS GETTING THE IGNITION SWITCH HOOKED PROPERLY TO THE STARTER. THIS IS THE BEST I CAN TELL. PLEASE CALL MIKE AT 540 353-2269 FOR QUESTIONS, I DO NOT CHECK E-MAIL OFTEN SO PLEASE CALL IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS CANDIDATE. I AM IN VIRGINIA, SO PLEASE KEEP THE TIME IN MIND, IF YOU MISS ME LEAVE A MESSAGE AND I WILL CALL YOU RIGHT BACK. THANKS, AND GOOD LUCK.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.

Netflix to feature electric cars from GM and others in programming

Sun, Feb 5 2023

LOS ANGELES — Netflix has unveiled a new star for some of its upcoming programming: electric vehicles from General Motors and other automakers. The streaming service announced an agreement on Thursday to feature vehicles including the Chevrolet Bolt, the electric GMC Hummer pickup and the Cadillac Lyriq in TV series and films "where relevant." The companies will highlight the partnership in a commercial featuring Will Ferrell that will air during the Feb. 12 Super Bowl. Netflix and GM called the agreement "part of a commitment to a more sustainable future." Financial terms were not disclosed. Netflix said it will help creators "better understand how EVs can complement and enhance their stories." Shows that will feature GM's electric vehicles include "Love is Blind," "Queer Eye" and "Unstable." Netflix productions also will include electric vehicles made by other automakers, the company said.   Marketing/Advertising TV/Movies Chevrolet GM GMC Hummer

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
