This rust free original body panel camaro has been restored to a pro touring level car. It has an LS style 5.3 engine with LS1 intake and throttle body, lowered, 12:1 quick ratio power steering box, aluminum radiator with computer controlled electric fan, 2002 Trans Am power leather bucket seats with the rear seat covered to match, custom gauges and gauge panel, steering wheel and am-fm-cd radio, new 18" chrome boss wheels on directional tires. The floor pans and trunk pan are original, clean and rust free. It has new dual exhaust dropping out behind rear tires out of sight, new gas tank with the fuel injection pump internal. The body is straight with very few paint blemishes, not show, but nice. Fiberglass cowl induction hood with low gloss platinum stripe the length of the car outlined in a hand painted sassy green pinstripe. Has front and rear spoilers, a new windshield, late model camaro fender emblems. The car is tight, the doors shut great, and it runs and drives great pulling down 20 plus mpg. The firewall has been smoothed as we had intended to put vintage air on it, but other projects are calling. It needs nothing and can be driven every day I'd you wish. Any questions or concerns, please ask. Can help arrange shipping at your expense, or fly in to Kansas city and drive home. Will need to have funds cleared before leaving. Good luck

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
