Hate to let this one go , but my interest and direction have changed and it would take too much to change the theme of this Camaro . I am planning on a Pro Touring-like project and would love to do it with this car , but after careful consideration , I have decided to put this car up for sale rather than to change all the already upgraded parts .

This 1969 Camaro has a fresh 462 cid Big Block Chevrolet (.030 forged pistons , Edelbrock Victor Jr intake , Holley 850 carb , Ceramic coated Hooker headers , MSD ignition , Competition Cams camshaft ,ect...) that runs on Pump Gas ! For a little extra go , it is equipped with a Zex 150-300hp Nitrous Oxide System ! Cooling consists of a New Weiand aluminum water pump , a High Performance big aluminum radiator with an aluminum shroud and dual 16" electric fans !

The fuel system feeding this Big Block consists of a new 16gal aluminum fuel cell , with fuel level sending unit , located in the trunk . The fuel is pumped through the 10AN Stainless Steel braided fuel line by a Holley electric fuel pump , also located in the trunk . The fuel is filtered by a 10in  inline aluminum bodied , Stainless Steel mesh media fuel filter to a Quick-Fuel fuel log with two Quick-Fuel adjustable aluminum regulators , one for the carb and one for the Nitrous system .

The driveline consists of a TCI Turbo 350 with a Trans Brake and a reverse shift pattern valve body . The torque converter is also a TCI unit ,with a 3500rpm stall speed . The shifting is handled by a B&M QuarterStick shifter with a Hurst T Handle . Next comes a custom-built 4in driveshaft , connected to a custom cut and narrowed Ford 9in rearend ! The carrier is an aftermarket Nodular iron unit filled with 3.90:1 Pro Gears and Mark Willams spool and axles . The braking is handled by a Mopar M/C , Wilwood Discs in the front and Big Ford drum brakes with adjustable prop valve in the rear .

The suspension in the front is mostly stock , with the exception to the Moroso Trick Springs and travel limiters . The front subframe is stock except for a modified crossmember , an aftermarket rear-mount rack and pinion ,and an aluminum motor plate / mid-plate mounting the drivetrain to the subframe . The rear suspension is a custom ladder-bar setup suspended by Competition Engineering Coilover shocks . The front and rear frames are tied together by Competition Engineering subframe connectors and a custom NHRA/IHRA inspectedl rollcage legal to 8.50 .The rear coilovers are mounted to the cage in the rear , which extends all the way to the rear of the car . The front subframe is connected to the cage by supports that extend through the firewall into the interior .

The interior of this Camaro consists of a complete , uncut dash , new dashpad , new door panels and rear panels , new carpet and headliner with aftermarket racing bucket seats with black covers , no rear seat and a custom rear firewall .

The body on this Camaro is in great shape , it is all steel , except for the hood ,the only thing that has been cut is to install mini-tubs in the rear . All the windows are glass, roll up and down, and in great shape . The paint is about 4 yrs old and is in really nice shape, the Rally Sport front grille was recently added , is brand new , doors and lights work flawlessly , entire system was replaced .

Now before anyone asks , NO it is NOT an original Z-28 , the emblems were on there when I bought the car several years ago , they are positioned correctly , in great shape and I always liked these emblems on these cars so sue me , I left them on !

Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt CarPlay video, Tesla Supercharger importance

Fri, Feb 5 2016

A video demonstrates Apple CarPlay on the touch display in the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. The Volt's eight-inch (bigger than an iPad Mini) capacitive display is capable of putting Siri and your iPhone apps and right at your fingertips. It's "the best CarPlay display I've seen," says the user in the video. In case you're not in the market for a new Volt, 9to5Mac offers some of its favorite aftermarket CarPlay screens. See the video above, and read more at 9to5Mac. A single Supercharger can make a big difference in the life of a Tesla owner. Teslarati's Electric Jen talks about purchasing a Model S, being assured by both Tesla employees and the map of planned Supercharger sites that one would be built along an important route for her. With the construction being pushed back, it made visiting family tricky. "As if owning such a grand car isn't embarrassing enough, asking for a ride to drop off and pick up said car because you can't make it home without charging really made me feel awkward," she says. "You see, one single charging location can mean the world to some people," Jen adds. Read the whole article at Teslarati. Tesla once had considered creating mobile range extender trailers for the Model S. Elon Musk touched upon the abandoned idea during his visit to Paris. While Tesla ultimately dismissed the concept, Nomadic Power has taken the opportunity to hitch their product onto the Tesla brand. "We are delighted, that Tesla Motors' CEO Elon Musk is thinking about a concept like ours for even more extending the range of the Tesla models," says Nomadic Power's CEO Manfred Baumgaertner. He adds, "This confirms our approach to build a long distance mobility provider for all electric vehicles on the market." If you say so, Baumgaertner. When the batteries have degraded to the point that they're no longer suitable for use on the road, they still have a significant capacity that can be used for other purposes. Still useful for stationary storage, they can be used to support charging sites in order to allow for faster charging. The stationary batteries can charge slowly at the site, but then offer up the juice in a hurry when it's needed for a vehicle. Read more from Renault.

Junkyard Gem: 1985 Chevrolet Sprint

Thu, May 21 2020

For in the 1985 model year, General Motors began selling Chevrolet-badged Suzuki Cultus hatchbacks in California. Sales of the cheap three-cylinder econobox in the rest of North America followed soon after (with the Canadian version known as the Pontiac Firefly), and did pretty well considering the crash in gasoline prices during the middle 1980s. Starting in 1988, the facelifted Sprint became the Geo (and, later on, Chevrolet) Metro. Here's one of the very first Cultuses sold on our shores, found in a San Francisco Bay Area car graveyard. Amazingly, the primitive rear-wheel-drive Chevrolet Chevette remained available all the way through 1987, competing with the thriftier front-wheel-drive Sprint in the same showrooms. For 1988, Pontiac started selling a rebadged Daewoo LeMans, so the Sprint/Metro never lacked for intra-corporate competition. Inside, you'll find the same stuff most mid-1980s Japanese econoboxes got: tough cloth upholstery and long-wearing hard plastics. Suzuki quality in 1985 wasn't quite up to Honda or Toyota levels, but you weren't paying Honda or Toyota prices for the Sprint. MSRP on this car started at $4,949, or about $12,000 in 2020 dollars. The cheapest possible 1985 Chevette cost $5,340, while a new no-frills Ford Escort would set you back $5,620. Subaru, however, could have put you in a punitively unappointed base-model Leone hatchback for just 40 bucks more than the Sprint that year. I think I'd have sprung the extra for a $5,348 Toyota Tercel, a $5,195 Mazda GLC, or— best cheap-commuter deal of all that year— the $5,399 Honda Civic 1300 hatchback. I was 19 years old and driving a Competition Orange 1968 Mercury Cyclone that year, and I recall feeling pity for Chevy Sprint drivers, new-car smell or not. Still, these weren't bad cars for the price, though a Sprint with an automatic transmission was a real character-builder. Got three cylinders and uses 'em all! 48 horsepower from this hemi-headed SOHC 1-liter. The Turbo Sprint — yes, such a car existed — had a howling 70 horsepower. The hood-latch release is a rectangular button that resembles a badge. 1985 Chevy Sprint Commercial The highest-mileage, lowest-priced car you can buy. 1985 holden barina commercial The Australian-market version was the Holden Barina, and the TV ads featured the Road Runner. 1983 SUZUKI CULTUS Ad In its homeland, this car got screaming guitars and a drive through New York City for its TV commercials.

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
