1968 Chevy Camaro Two owner rust free California car, clean and clear California title and registration, built in Los Angeles and is an original V8 car by the VIN. The Camaro was bought from the original owner who had it customized in the mid 70’s, she drove it for a few years then stored the car for approximately thirty years, only reviving it a couple of years ago. It has had only one repaint in 45 years. The only filler or bondo on the entire car is the little that was used to blend the rear flairs, there is also no cracking or flaking around the flairs, ( a magnet sticks firmly to every panel, even the normally rusted or repaired areas such as the, truck floor, lower front fenders, quarters and lower edges of the doors, these are all rust and bondo free on this car ). The paint has faded a little over the years and there are some nicks and scratches but the exterior still looks presentable. The car is also hand pinstriped in the 70’s style. The front inner fenders were removed when the car was modified as was popular in the 70’s, but they will be supplied with the car, ( they are easily bolted back in place ). The wheels are the original US made 70’s Ansen slot mags in 15x10 and 14x7 with new white lettered tires. The stance comes courtesy of period correct Gabriel HiJacker air shocks. The engine is a 350 V8 with high performance heads, a mild cam, Edelbrock Torker intake, Edelbrock carb, headers and a dual exhaust. The engine does not overheat, smoke, leak any fluids or make any noises it shouldn’t. The transmission is a Turbo 400 with a TransGo shift kit and B&M ratchet shifter. The interior was redone from headliner to carpet in the mid 70’s and still looks new. New second generation Camaro seats were bought and fitted before the whole interior was tastefully retrimmed in black velour. The 70’s Radio/Cassette with additional amp and graphic equalizer still works great as does the retro Dixco tach. All the glass is good with no cracks or scratches. All in all the car is an original 70’s street machine, built in the 70’s, not a recreation or an overdone restoration, no quick cheap paintjobs or amateur repairs to make it look pretty to sell. It has perfect patina and looks, sounds and behaves as a real street machine from that era should; mean, loud, fast and dangerous. Please feel free to ask any question, any inspection is welcomed. |

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
GM follows up Lambda CUV stop-sale with tire recall
Mon, Feb 9 2015In late January, General Motors announced a stop-sale for about 6,281 examples of the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave because of the possibility for the treads cracking on their 18-inch Goodyear Fortera HL tires. At the time, GM said that this would also eventually lead to a safety campaign to repair the problem, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has just published those details. GM's recall covers 5,876 of the three Lambda platform crossovers to replace their tires. According to NHTSA, if the treads crack, there could be a loss of pressure and possible failure. Goodyear already announced its own recall of the tires after internal testing found small tread cracks. The company did not believe this was safety issue, but the problem did put the rubber out of compliance with federal laws. The business's safety campaign covered an estimated 48,512 tires. Of those, around 32,000 were reportedly made for GM to either be fitted to vehicles or sold as replacements. The remainder went to the aftermarket. Goodyear's portion of the recall is expected to begin around February 20. RECALL Subject : Tire Tread Cracking/FMVSS 110 Report Receipt Date: JAN 28, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V044000 Component(s): TIRES Potential Number of Units Affected: 5,876 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) BUICK ENCLAVE 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE 2015 GMC ACADIA 2015 Details Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 14, 2015, 2015 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 20, 2015, and 2015 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 16, 2015, and all equipped with Goodyear P255/65R18 Fortera HL tires. These vehicles are equipped with tires that may experience tread cracking. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims and Motor Home/Recreation Vehicle Trailer Load Carrying Capacity Information for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or Less." CONSEQUENCE: If the tire treads crack, a loss of tire pressure and possible tire failure may result, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires that were manufactured within a specific date range, free of charge.
GM Recalling 370,000 Trucks For Fire Risk
Mon, Jan 13 2014DETROIT (AP) - General Motors is recalling 370,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups from the 2014 model year to fix software that could cause the exhaust components to overheat and start a fire. The recall includes 303,000 trucks in the U.S. and 67,000 in Canada and Mexico. All of the trucks involved have 4.3-liter or 5.3-liter engines. GM said eight fires have been reported, but no injuries. One garage was damaged, the company said. All of the incidents occurred in cold weather. The company is asking customers not to leave their trucks idling unattended. GM dealers will reprogram the software for free. The company will inform owners starting Jan. 16. The major recall announcement, which came on Saturday, marred the Silverado's winning of the 2014 North American Truck of the Year Award at the Detroit Auto Show on Monday.
